I got Queen's first and second cd for Christmas. I like them both a lot but their first one is really growing on me. Its really heavy and its got a very early metal feel to it.

So, what do you think of this album?

Great openings for both albums ("Keep Yourself Alive" and "Procession"), excellent vocals by all but John, and just excellent writing all around (even though John was holding back)!

I've only heard Queen II... Good vocals, instrumentals, and lyrics...

I love both of 'em, much more so than their later stuff.

I downloaded the self-titled off of iTunes a few weeks ago.

Mad the Swine and Doing Alright are two of the better songs on the album. Though Mad the Swine starts out rather slowly, the refrain is great. The vocal harmonies are lovely. Doing Alright is also great.

It's just a really good album altogether. xd

I like "Liar" and "Keep Yourself Alive". "Doing Alright" is a good one too though.

Quite fond of "Keep Yourself Alive," myself. It's really tricky to play on the piano, though.

Haha, I don't have many Queen albums (I've only got Greatest Hits I ~ III and ANATO), but I've picked some songs off the first and second album off YouTube. Very fond of Liar, Keep Yourself Alive, White Queen, and March of the Black Queen heart

eek

Holy crap, that is like...in my top five favorite Queen albums.

I mean, yeah...I'm kinda dissapointed that John didn't have any songs on that one (didn't have any until Misfire in Sheer Heart Attack), and I highly dislike the "Jesus" song...but other than that, I LOVE that album.

Queen II is also good. I fell in love with Nevermore the instant I heard it. *swoons*

Speaking of 'Misfire', that song is unbelievable; it's so cute and peppy. That's actually one of the reasons I got so smitten with John, actually.

And 'Nevermore' is amazing, it's so gorgeous. I wish it were longer. Same with 'Misfire'. I have to play them at least three times in a row to feel like I've really heard them.

Never heard the first album. I wish I could, but it seems to be a rather tough item to track down anymore (even on cd).

Try half.com for a copy, or maybe even a bigger retailer like bn.com or amazon.com would have one.

Yeah... My birthday is coming up in 25 days... so I totally know what I'm asking for.
Either the first album, News of the World, The Works, or A Kind of Magic, seeing as those are the Queen albums I don't have.
Anyhoo... back on topic.

I freaking love Queen II. It didn't used to be my favorite, but the more I listen to it, the more I love it. It's just a freaking amazing album. One of my favorites of all time.

I love Queens first album. I've never heard Queen 2 though. Except "White Queen" and "March of the black queen" (Which I both like very much). "My Fairy King" and "Great king rat" is both amaizing songs I think. Eaven my friend who don't like Queen (O_o Unbelivible..) liked "My fairy king". I think it's weird that it haven't got that much attantion... rolleyes
