The plains were open and empty with tufts of green and brown peeking up from beneath the patches of snow that was begining to melt. It wasn't as cold as it had been... And Mamma had said that she could wander off on her own for a bit as long as she came back before the sun set. It was good to be free... It was good to know that Mamma understood even if Da didn't.
It was good to be away from her butthead brothers who, despite their apologies, still tried to protect her from everything. She was a tough filly. She didn't need protected from anything. Nope, not at all...

Things were beginning to get boring again even with two rather weird foals running around the two-leggers home. He had taken one look at the two, decided they were far to strange for his attentions, and wandered off. He could find entertainment out on the plains that wasn't colored like whatever those two were colored as.
Sadly he'd run into nothing of interest. A rabbit here and there but no one that could provide him with any sort of conversation or company. Everyone must have been hiding from the cold that still clung to the air. Sad that they couldn't enjoy the crisp bite to the air and the way your breath puffed if you caught the breeze just right.

She was anything other than bored... And everything other than borring. She was romping through the snow, chasing after the winter birds that had landed nearby in hopes of finding something on the ground as the snow melted away. She laughed as they hopped away, attempting to mimic their movements for a moment here and there before simply racing. The air seemed cool as it moved around her but it was a good cool... It was freedom.

He trotted across the plains, kicking up snow as he crossed it, and wondered when something was going to come across his day to alleviate the boredom.
It didn't take him long to see something off in the distance romping around in the snow. A foal. Weren't they usually cuddled up to their parents this time of year? It was far to cold for little ones to be out all on their own.

Most foals probably were... But not this one. This one would return to her parents when she was tired to take warmth from them when night fell. Now? Now she was wearing herself out, creating stories that she would tell her brothers about... And they? They would be soooo jealous.

He headed for the foal and raised a brow as he noticed something on it's rump. That reminded him of that, what was his name, he couldn't remember but it reminded him of another stallion he'd met. It seemed he was spawning tough it didn't look like he'd gotten to that grass colored girl.
"Not smart for a little kid like you to be out all on your own."

She let out a squeak, obviously startled by the interruption to her romp over the plains. She'd thought she was alone... And now there was someone else there; someone she hadn't heard sneak up! "Momma says s'not nice ta take others by suprise. She says you should always intr'duce y'self." She nodded slowly as she eyed him, standing her ground firmly now that she knew he was there.

Now he was getting lectured on proper etiquette by a foal? What was the world coming to. "Your mamma didn't tell me anything so why should i have to follow her rules?" He raised a brow at the foal as he stopped a few feet in front of her.
"And technally you aren't following those rules either since you decided to lecture me and not introdouce yourself."

Her nose wrinkled as she looked up to him for a moment before snorting softly, tilting her head higher. "Momma says not ta talk ta strangers. That means y'd have ta introduce y'self first."

"Too late kid. You're already talking to me." Little kids never got things like that. If you weren't suppose to talk to strangers then you should run from them not tell them you weren't suppose to talk.

"Ah'm not a kid." She snorted once more as she pranced around him, short tail moving about behind her with excitement. Not only was she wandering about on her own... She'd got to meet someone new! Take that, Sedi!
"Da says Ah'm a little lady."

"Little lady, kid, all the same difference." His tail swing behind him as he watched her prance. "You're daddy's that playboy with the blue hide and cards on his a...rump right?"
Had to be. She even had his blue in her hair. Oh how Rogue would b***h when she found this out. Her little lover boy had a family and was off hiding it from her.

Her little brow furrowed as she looked up at him. "Ah don't know what you're callin' my Da, but if it's bad..." She pawed at the ground with her one 'glowing' hoof, digging up a tuft of grass. If it was something bad she'd headbutt him just like she had Sedi.

He laughed as she pawed at the ground. So she thought she could take him? He was twice her size. "If i'm saying things about your dad then he can have a problem with me himself. Might be a blow to his ego if you go fighting his battles for him."
This was defiantly that card-asses kid. She looked like him and she that sure about herself attitude.

"Mamma says y'shouldn't say things that aren't nice. Even if no one's 'round ta hear 'em." She nodded, glaring up at the stallion as she continued to stand her ground. "Y'should say sorry, y'know."
