A geiser near by hissed, lighting up the face of a hyena. One eye held a dim glow compared to the vibrant, living glow of the other, while white markings glowed in the eerie green light. Flipping her white mane out of her face, the hyena seemed to look into the mists of the geisers for answers. All they did was hiss at her. Frowning, Schatz smacked a bone in, watching it get blasted up into the night. Somehow, that proved fun... To see which bones or tiny dead animals floated highest out of the geisers, both the cauldron-like geisers and the massive fissure geisers. The latter usually proved the most dangerous. Letting out a grunt, she turned and stalked from the glowing plume, finding a place near the border to stalk, watching... Daring someone to intrude. Schatz had a slight advantage in the boneyard - She could blend in, for she looked like a dancing skeleton. Ducking into a shadow, she practically vanished, watching the outside world from the safety of the bones.

A large blue form trotted along the border between the graveyard and the Pridelands, white mane sliding to cover eyes the color of ice. A matching white tail waved merrily as the owner sang to herself, voice to course for pleasant sigging, and too off key to be enjoyable. No, Bluu meerly sang to herself because she enjoyed it, not because it sounded good. It was a bawdy song, lots of blood and animal lust in it. Some rather vulgar references to prey carcasses and the breeding season too... but her voice was low enough that the words could be missed if the hearer were too far away.
Bluu, as usual, was looking for something to eat. This place was strangely desolate... lots of bones, but any meat on them had long since disappeared. She'd had to forage into the lands around it, which wasn't really a bad thing. The traveler female couldn't say for sure what kept drawing her back to this place... Save that she enjoyed it here. What better reason to stay, truly? She also rather enjoyed flirting with the boundaries the local pack had established, seeing how close she could get undetected. Animals that protected a certain piece of land amused her to no end.

The juvenile flicked her ears, looking up. Somebody was in the pack lands... A growl rattled in her throat as she crept along the shadows. Her one eye scanned about, seeking who had intruded. What she saw made her stop and stare. A blue hyena... A BLUE hyena. What a concept... The only hyenas she'd ever seen(Or rather, paid attention to) were browns, yellows, grays, and blacks, as well as some white. But this... THIS made her stare. So focused on the unusual hyena, her paw missed a step and the pup went tumbling. This was not a good way to patrol at ALL!

Bluu started as something fell off to her side, spinning around to find the source with her eyes. The fall of her paws raised little puffs of dust, and it tickled her nose to the point of distraction. She had a hard time finding the source of the noise, and she sneezed violently, shaking her head wildly to clear it of the tickling dust.
"Oi! Who goes there?" She called out as her eyes watered, blinking quickly to clear them. "Come on now, show yer self!" She plastered what she opened was a friendly smile on her face, but it came off as rather condescending, as if she expected some playful youngster to appear before her. Seemed like someone was playing tricks on the blue female, when she was the one that tended to be the trickster.
White tail wagging, she shook her head again, the shake extending down her spine all the way to her tail.

Sitting up, Schatz blinked, trying to get the bones to stop spinning. When her vision cleared, she was staring up towards the blue hyena. This could either go right, or it could go wrong... Ever the bold pup, she jumped up, hackles raising. "Who are you tresspassing on Mava'bunda lands?! Are you friend or foe?!"

(( moved to IMs ))
Bluu relaxed immediently when she saw the black and white pup pop up, a rough laugh bursting from her as she rocked back on her haunches, plopping her behind in the dirt.
"Well, what have we here!" She laughed, grinning good naturedly at the pup with her hackles up. "Hello there, little guard. I'm a friend, of course, and my name is Bluu. I'm just a friendly rogue, wandering where my paws take me." She chuckled, trying to lighten the fierce expression the youngster's face. "No need to get all up in it, I'm not causing any trouble."

Schatz eyed Bluu, then sat down. Her hackles remained up, though. "I am Schatz... Member of the Mava'bunda. Don't you want a pack of some sort...?" She tilted her head, a confused expression on her face. "You've got to be lonely, wandering alone..."

The adult blinked at the questions, for a moment rather stumped as to what to say to her in response.
"I, uh, never said I didn't want a pack, though... I guess I don't, really." She broke into a smile again, her naturally good mood reappearing. "And I'm never lonely! I mean, the world is filled with other creatures, right? And every creature can be a friend if you try. So, there's always a friend around, you see?" Bluu shook her head and wagged her white tail, letting a forepaw slap the ground in her mirth.
"Its all about the attitude."

The pup gave a snort, ears going back. "I only hang around other hyenas. Nothing else is worth MY time!" She eyeballed the other hyena, a frown on her face. "What, you hang around lion filth?" She had no kind words for lions. To her, they were the scum of the Earth, stealing land from the hyenas and bullying them away from kills.

Blue blinked at the cub again, her expression one of polite surprise, like she couldn't believe the other felt as she did. Of course, she was not a naive lady, for all her silly behavior sometimes. She knew how others hated lions and what this pack stood for... but the pup was being rather silly, in her eyes, so she'd go gently on the subject for now.
"Depends on the time, dear, depends on the time. If it starts to storm and I find a lion in the only dry spot, well!" She chuckled. "I'm not going to put up a fuss if I can share that dry spot. Same way if one cares to share their kill with me when its been a lean day. Never say no to a free meal, child! You never know when it'll be your last one in a long while." Bluu grinned as she wagged her tail and rocked back on her haunches again, not in the least bothered by the pup. With her brute strength and good nature, nothing really bothered her.
