Werewolf x Tamiko-chan
Ryoku x Aaka
Ryoku x Aaka
There was green in the field, but she didn?t know it. Over the past few days the daily snowfall had slackened a bit, allowing the temperatures to drift scandalously into the forties, and drift pack some of the smaller patches of snow into the earth. The white slush still carpeted the earth from all angles, but anyone with eyes could see small tiny green stalks shining brilliantly against the white desert.
She walked slowly beside them, her paws not crushing one and was not alerted by their presence. But even unseen and unfelt, the small female felt filled with a kind of fluttering happiness which otherwise had no name. This wasn?t to say she had been unhappy at any particular point this month, for Ryoku was of a strange element, but there was life brimming even in the constant shadows of her otherwise deadened eyes.
The pale grew female yawned suddenly, kneeling down and stretching in the snow. Her nose was inches from the green stalk, but it only faintly grazed her as she lifted back up. It was very much like the young omega to be wandering, but on this particular day, she found herself quite far into the endless black. She had been following Phib's trail in hopes of catching up with him, but it was a hopeless task and before long she found herself a mile off the packlands and blindly hanging about for her mate to realize she was AWOL. It didn?t displease her however, for she was still having a pleasant afternoon amongst the faintly snow-covered field, and the unknown life that was slowly weedling it's way from the soil under the ice.
----------
Not too far away from the wandering blind creature was one that had perfectly good eyes, ones she used to check her surroundings before coming fully out of the den she had found and slept in for the night. Having found the coast clear, Aaka came out of her sleeping place and slowly stretched all of her cramped limbs.
Smiling kindly to herself, she took the chance to glance up at the sky. It was blue and clear, promising a warmer day than what she was used to. It would prove interesting for her, a wolf of the snow.
Stretching her limbs one last time, the newcomer then set out in the direction she had been initially going in. Unfortunately, she wound up in the same place that she had been the day before, the place where she had met Flit and that other male, Phib. Hm, seemed like she wasn't quite as skilled in finding her way as she had once thought.
Grinning to herself while shaking her head, she looked bright and happy as she continued walking across the not-so-snowy ground.
After a minute or so, however, she suddenly stopped as she spotted another figure wandering around the same area. Aaka lifted her nose to try and find a scent, but nothing came to her at the moment. Feeling confident that the wolves around here were nice, she smiled then trotted forward slightly, calling out into the silence of the morning:
"Hello! Uhm.. hi..."
----------
The small creature danced to the side for a moment, her dainty feet sinking into the snow in soft spurts, for it was soft from melting, and even her snowshoe like footpads could keep her afloat. This seemed to be of some amusement to her, for she repeated the feat a couple of times before she came to the conclusion that it was in fact softer then before. Still she missed the green life, but spring was already starting to take seed in her mind. No doubt there would still be more snow but- she would hope. She always did.
The sound of another creature's voice upon the silence diverted Ryoku's attention from the snow, and she rose her head up slowly in attempts to remember where the sound had come from. It still vibrated against the sensitive skin of her ears, but she had forgotten the direction. Nervously, she did a wolf's equivalent of a blush, and pretended to not be confused as to the voice's origin.
"Hello there-" The female called softly to the darkness, and peered around with her expressionless and wide blue eyes. Despite their deadness, she carried a certain quality of being pleased- and although it might have been unsettling, it was far from dark.
The grey creature took a few steps in the wrong direction, before stopping in her tracks, and smiling. Whether or not the other female could see it, she didn't know, and apologetically she wagged her tail. "Sorry- not to good for seeing, love." She said softly, and turned around slowly. This way? No... She sat before she looked any more dumb, but still continued to gaze with a soft expression towards whatever way she might be looking. She sat beside a green leaf, but Ryoku didn't know that either.
----------
Aaka watched in amusement as the other seemed to dance across the ground. She seemed quite the happy soul, and it lifted her own to know that there were no real tragedies in this part to get others too down on such a lovely day.
But her ears immediately dropped with her head as she saw that the voice somewhat startled the other and even seemed to confuse her. At first she was clueless as to why Ryoku might have traveled in the wrong direction. Her voice hadn't come from that way! Or that... hm. Did this wolf not want to be in her presence? Just the thought made her whine. Being unliked was not a fun thing.
"Oh, well, I'm sorry if I startled you or anything," she replied with a smile though she knew now that the other could not possibly see it. Not good for seeing, perhaps she was blind? Yes, yes, that was it. Once she had ventured close enough to actually see Ryoku's eyes, the gray female noted that she was indeed blind.
Hm, perhaps the mate of Phib? Possibly, but there was no need to go making quick assumptions like that. She had learned her lessons about assuming..
"My name is Aaka," she said pleasantly, sitting a few feet away from the other femme. She was about to comment on how lovely the sky looked, but she quickly caught herself before the words had a chance to come out. She had better started thinking before she let words fly, there was no room for making enemies or whatever just because she couldn't get the right words out.
"You live around here?" she asked curiously, trying not to sound like she was all that nosey.
----------
The female's face peeled into a smile, and she corrected her stance now that the other female was approaching. Ah, this was the way, she thought with pleasure. She didn't like appearing to be an invalid- perhaps one of the only things which troubled her otherwise forcibly carefree mind. She trotted a few steps forward, the end of her tail softly swaying as she sniffed at the larger female's snout.
"Oh, no no- I am not startled." She spoke, once that ritual of greeting had concluded, respectively asserting her submission by flattened her ears and tucking her tail somewhat. "And, I do not live muchly here- I walk, sometimes, follow a bit." She said lightly- it was garbled, but it flowed as if it was natural to speak in such a broken manner. "I am living just a bit south from here- the sea, it smells like salt."
She sat herself down, more so because being blind gave her the constant urge to be grounded- o else who knows when the world might flip over and she not be grounded. "Aaka? That is a pretty name." She said softly. "I am Ryoku- sometimes, Fourth, but people call me what they wish." She said grinning. "And where has Aaka been coming from? I have not seen you before- although, I must be admitting I don't meet many people sometimes." She shook her head. "My mate though- he's always about and being belligerent and such- sometimes I meet people vicariously." She continued in her speech- her occasional use of such words confounding the idea she was a fool; but whatever she was, she offered little clue to it other then a warm smile.
----------
A smile was forced upon her lovely maw as Ryoku revealed that she was indeed not startled. For someone blind as she it was amazing she seemed to have no fear at all. Aaka would have thought that the inability to see would have at least instilled some fear of the unknown. How terrible it must be to not be able to see the sky or your own mate. But then, she guessed, some learned to cope with it and sometimes led happier lives. This one here, why, she seemed a perfect example!
Giving a few quick sniffs to the other female's snout in return, the younger one then proceeded to set down comfortably upon her haunches. She noticed the submissiveness in the other's pose and so tried to make herself as comfortable as possible so that Ryoku might pick up that she was no threat.
"Ah, I understand," she nodded, peering curiously into the other female's unseeing eyes. She hadn't seen a blind creature before...
"Oh, why thank you. It's too simple, I think, but everybody has their opinion," she smiled, tail wagging slightly behind her. "It's a pleasure to meet you Ryoku," she then said cheerfully, still smiling despite it being unseen by her company. Hm.. but Fourth? "Fourth?" she echoed, this time voicing her thoughts. Maybe she was being too nosey...
"I come from far north, from a place where it is always snowing." Thus why she had two fur coats. "Ah, your mate. Is his name Phib, by any chance?" she questioned, tilting her head slightly as she always did when inquiring about something.
----------
Ryoku's ears swung forward. "Fourth is what I had been of called at birth." She explained, still a light hearted look upon her. "It is my name, but I have not gone much by it- I was fourth of four sisters, and my father was not too much on naming." She chuckled, and gently swayed her tail. "Maybe someday I'll get another name- but, names are just names. Sometimes, I think having simple names is being much better then having too many- simple names stick well, yes? And easily remembered by even people like me who can't always be remembering such things." She smiled and laughed softly.
"Oh, the north?" She inquired herself, her head tilting to the side. Her eyes, still gazed like glassy blue pools- the pupils distorted and a faded blue against the light color of her eyes. "I am from the north- although where I am coming from was not so much with the constant snowing. It snowed maybe all of ten months, and then occasionally it would stop itself for sometime enough for bright red flowers to have been bloomed. They were having small yellow seeds-" She trailed off, remembering forgotten things of sight. It was not so much that it caused her disappointment- but there was a longing for the color such things brought with them.
"Phib?" Ryoku asked in surprise, once more pivoting her ears forward. So she had met him- but he had not mentioned this one to her yet. Hopefully this was not an unfortunate recollection. She laughed, somewhat nervously, and nodded her head. "Yes, he is mine." She said, as if she was claiming a child rather then her mate. "Hopefully he has not slighted you- he's a good fellow, yes? Sometimes, he just talks too much and thinks he must always be right- very stubborn, he is." Her voice rung softly with affection towards him.
