I've been hearing that there is going to be an 8th Harry Potter book and i want to know if this is true. Do you know? I know there's suppost to be only 7, but a 8th book sounds good to me because 1-7 is about his life at Hogwarts, but what about after? What's going to happen after school? It only makes sence, but my main question is is there going to be a 8th book or not?

sorry people but jo said only 7 there is no 8th book that is a rumor ment to rise your hopes but no only 7 is all she said she would do

well actully if JK Rowling was to change her mind and write an 8th book ... In other words there is always that possiblity

J.K. Rowling has stated that she will not write an eighth book.
And of course there won't be anymore Quiddith matches.
They won't be at school.
They'll be hunting for Horcruxes.

wow thats a first i've heard that be nice but didn't she say in an interview that she is only going to wright 7 books but i wish she kept wrighting it be great thought i really want book 7 alredy

And the thing about the eighth book: There will be no eighth book, that Jo is sure of. However, she is thinking about writing a book for charity (like she did with Fantastic Creatures and Where to Find Them & Quidditch Through the Ages) that would include any extra information that she couldn't fit in the books. It would be a sort of encyclopedia of little tidbits of information for Harry Potter dorks. I will be buying it if it happens. biggrin

I think we should wait until the book comes out. but, even if harry does die it is possible to have an 8th book when he comes back.

No eighth book will be needed. All loose ends will be tied up in the seventh book. This could very well mean that Harry will die. But of course I think we should all stop guessing and making predictions and just wait until Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows comes out. You know you want to.

I agree this predicting is driving me mad because as a writer I know storys can change with the rearanging of a few words
