Okay, so last year I met this girl, Amanda. She and I (along with Hirun) became really good friends. Unfortunately, she's a little wunky in the head, thinks she's the princess of Russia, the world will end next thurdsday, and stuff like that.
She also has a crush on Hirun and I.
Now comes the problem. We've moved away from her. She used to call every day, and we'd never pick up after about 2 months of her calling. She called last night, and she invited us to her 16th birthday party. If you can't tell, we're not exactly friends (in my opinion) anymore.
Do I call back and say I'm going? Or do I reject the offer? x_x

Hm.... Well, since you're not really her friend, just tell her you're busy and can't come. No reason to hang around someone you don't like.

OK, if you really don't like this girl, then all you have to do is tell her you can't come. Tell her you have some stuff to do on that day already, or something like that. You shouldn't make this into a bigger problem by pretending you still like her and going to her party.

KingShoy The only question is, how to turn down the party? DX It's in April. o3o There's no lie I can come up with. x3x Doctor/Dentist appointment? Those are scheduled waaay in advance. And you can say you asked your dad to try and change it, but they said they were booked solid and couldn't. Tell her its a cavity, that'll take an hour or so and afterwards you'd be all numb and blah and wouldn't be in a party mood.

She didn't give a specific date. D: I'll have to "call and ask" about the date. o3o; I'll do that tommorow whilst she's in school, so I get the answering machine.

You COULD just ask her, and when she tells you respond with:
"DARN!!! I think that's the date I have a dentist appointment, and then I'll be out of the country for a week prior and after that date"
But of course for that to work, you must rip your heart out of your chest and kill some bunnies xd ... so just ask her the date and tell her you have to check your schedule. Usually when people hear "I have to check my schedule" they know it's practically a no >.<

The way I see it, you were once friends and she's making the effort to at least reach out and try to be your friend. The curtious thing to do would be to go to the party and to at least make it look like you're having fun regardless if you actually are. If, afterwards, you still feel like you shouldn't be friends, continue to avoid her.

So what exactly happened to make you guys not be friends anymore? Just that she's a little bit different?
Seems kinda harsh. =/

[Cherry.Wine] So what exactly happened to make you guys not be friends anymore? Just that she's a little bit different? Seems kinda harsh. =/ I'm strange. I'm antisocial. I move away from people, and then I don't want to see them again. She's trying to say Hi again, I don't rather like her. If I go, she'll think I love her or something. I'm not saying that her being the way she is is what makes me dislike her, it's just her in general. I don't hate her with a passion, I'd just rather not try and mend a thread that I purposefuly snapped.

Plans. You already have plans. In april you will be helping with something at your school (both Sat and Sunday), you have dentist appointment the next weekend and it's too far for a one day drive, third weekend your car is going into the shop for something, fourth weekend you have family obligations.
See? That simple.

Okay, you've moved on. Tell her okay? It may seem bad, but its way less harsh than pretending you care when you don't. I've been on "Amanda's" side before and it sucks when someone you think is your friend doesn't care about you. I would have rather of had them bluntly tell me that they have moved on and rather not hang out.
Honestly though, not caring enough about an old friend to completely want to cut yourself off, sorta makes you a d**k. Not to totally insult you or not, but if you're going to cut yourself off, you may as well continue and tell her bluntly. That's my two cents.
