A woman (Muslim) invented a swim suit just for Muslim women called the "burquini". It's supposed to be just like a swim suit but it covers up your body and your hair but it's good enough to swim in and play water sports.
Unlike the cotton T-shirt and trousers, it's supposedly better for swimming. At first I thought it was silly, but it's good for women who long to swim but just couldn't.

Well, it depends on material. It may cover you but be very tight fitting and all.
Our masjid just does these swimming things just for women. They rent an indoor pool, cover all the windows, and get female life gaurds and stuff.

D i n a Isn't it spelled "burkini"? You confused me. gonk I don't know how it's really spelled because the first article I found about this spelled it like "burquini".

i got an article in the news paper and it was spelt burqini, so idont think its a typo...

i actually met the lady who designed these burkini things at an MSA West conference about a year ago. my friend and i were walking and glanced at one of the headpieces, and she saw us and went on and on about it being halal for women. it's kinda silly looking, but it's cool. the material doesn't stick to you when you come out of the water.. and you can go scuba diving in it and stuff. that's the main reason why she designed in. anyway, they have different styles/colors. she even showed me a pair of blue flares! hehe.. good stuff. biggrin
