We should have page for rumors and gossip as well as.......la gasp facts.
Jason Statham has reportedly been offered the title role in the next series of Doctor Who.
The Crank star is allegedly being lined up as the 11th Doctor in the hit BBC show amid rumours current Time Lord David Tennant is quitting the role.
A TV source tells The People, "It will be Doctor Who meets gangland. He will do a lot more thinking with his fists and will be a sure-fire winner with the ladies.
"Doctor Who is still seen as a bit geeky but Jason will add sex appeal and give the character a more dangerous edge."

If what you just said is true I prupose we rip off RTD's pastry cakes and shove them down his throat. evil stressed

Having just looked him up on Google I am now crying with laughter. HIM the Doctor? If this isn't a joke I suspect someone will end up shot. As it is it has to be.
And just who says he has sex appeal anyway? Winner with what ladies? And in comparison to Tennant, king of fangirls???
Oh and Takuha, I am having a crack-down on swearing and particularly violent flaming, so turn it down a notch would ya? Though I agree, I would do something along similar lines to RTD if he dared do anything like this tabloid nonsense...

Just so I'm not being unfair to Jason Statham fans, what does everyone think about this guy playing the Doctor? I have seen him play good roles occasionally, but he plays thugs not Timelords.

rolleyes Yet another stupid rumour. David has NOT said he is leaving, Series Four (to the best of my knowledge) has not been commissioned as yet, and the papers are getting desperate.
DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING UNTIL OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED!!!!!

I think it's less about believing it and more about thinking 'what if...'.
I am getting sick of all the attempts to take the 'geekiness' out of Who. If it wasn't geeky I wouldn't watch it. I like geekiness.

Tennant was bad enough but bearable. If this guy is actually going to be the Doctor(which I doubt) then RTD must have lost his mind.

Thinking with his fists? I find it doubtful that anybody involved in the production of Doctor Who would ever allow something like that to get through - it would defeat the entire point of The Doctor (well, maybe not the entire point, but you get what I mean).

Ok, that man is just homely. xp That, and Tennant would not leave the show this early. I mean, the man grew up watching Doctor Who! This is a dude who is living his dream! I think he's going to stay for quite a while yet. 3nodding

You make an excellent point there. Especially after my friend told me about the interview he dug up a while ago in an old issue of Doctor Who Magazine.

Smigg-the-Miserable You make an excellent point there. Especially after my friend told me about the interview he dug up a while ago in an old issue of Doctor Who Magazine. Thankies. I have a friend who is obsessed with Tennant, she's the one who told me all about it. From what I've gathered, he used to watch the show with his little Tom Baker doll that he had; he really loved The Fourth. ^_^
