My fiance wants to bring a bit of spice into our relationship, seeing as we dont seen to spend much time together anymore.
So, I suggested a romantic date night. But we want to do something out of the ordinary. So not movie & a meal. Barry suggested a night in a hotel, but it's too expensive for us.
Any suggestions for an inexpensive night out, that is a little different? 4laugh
EDIT: Road trips are not an option as neither me nor my fiance have a car or drive.
Staying at home for a romantic night in is not an option as we live in shared housing and never get a moments peace.
We heart picnics, but the weather is bloody freezing out razz

And you want to go "OUT" on your date? Some of the most romantic dates I've been on I've never left my house.. *shrug* Ok, so I do agree that going out for a movie isn't really romantic, sitting in uncomfy seats with hundreds of strangers is not really the hot end of my day either. I went on a nice date once where we took a sushi making class then went for a dander along the Quay. Maybe it's just me, but I think "romantic date" is a state of mind moreso than the actual activities involved.

How about watching a sunset together? It's cheap yet always romantic...
How about a romantic dinner at home? Turn off all the lights, do a complete candle lit dinner, do something out of the ordinary and mix up any type of routine too.

The most romantic date I've had was riding in a tram. We spent ca.4 hours just getting off and switching at whim. It was free, and there was no pressure to get something out of it. Very fun.

I enjoy goign to parks myself, bring a lunch and what not. Then stay after dark and run from the police who yell at you for being in the park after it closes....
wait I do that every Tuesday...ummmm only with swords... ninja
No but seriously just going to the park can be fun...acting like little kids for absolutly no reason other than just because is always fun if you ask me smile

My boyfriend and I love doing random, spontaneous things like that! Sometimes we jump in the car and get on the freeway and then he'll pick a number between one and ten, and that is the exit we get off, then we do random lefts and rights until we see something that makes us want to stop! Like a gorgeous park, or an interesting pub, or a quirky little cafe -that kind of thing!

Homemade food is always fun, especially if you make it together. Especially ESPECIALLY if you're both kitchen n00bs.

With no car you can still do a version of the random thing my boyfriend and I do -it'd just end up more like the tram idea that someone suggested earlier...pick a bus route or train line, and then say -right, we're getting off in six stops time, and finding the first....*insert whatever you might like to visit*. You get the idea.

Some of our best dates were the one we have at home, just talk to your roommates. Playing board games, card games, just being overall silly.
Chekc your local paper for neat ideas. Sure it might require a busride, but the museums are usually free or see if there are botanical gardens.

3nodding Go for something that is fun first, and have romance as a second thought. Is there something you two love to do together for fun, like bowling, or some other activity? Maybe you two could try something new, that's always an adventure.

One time we stumbled upon a karaoke party that an amateur singing group were having and ended up busting out all our most embarrassing dance moves while everyone else just stood aaround. It was very entertaining -for us at least, I pity everyone else...
