This is something that gets thrown around a lot in random discussion. "Maybe when they're older"..."not now, but perhaps in the future"...but has anyone actually sat down and postulated what the people from GW would be like in the future? Just maybe throw out some ideas, see what people think would happen.

Heero: If he doesn't join Preventer (which I think is likely), I could see him finishing out college, then working for, or perhaps forming, a security service to prevent against break-ins and thefts. When he gets older, he'll probably look something like Kyosuke from Super Robot Wars or Ralph Kurt from Blind Target.

Relena: I honestly can't see her staying Vice Foreign Minister forever, or even persuing public office. Depending on how smoothly everything ran, I could see her returning to the Kingdom and maybe reopening the school, except possibly as a place to groom future politicians. I imagine grown-up Relena as looking something like Helena from Dead or Alive, but with a more realistic bustline.

Duo: The first thing that springs to mind for me is "marries Hilde, has several children", at least one of which would be named for Solo. I dunno if being a Junk Tech is a stable business, unless he organized them more like the Junk Guild from Seed. He might eventually cut off the braid once his life becomes more stable...or when the kids start trying to use it as a swing.

Trowa: Probably stays with the circus while moonlighting either for Preventer or whatever Heero's doing. Don't think he'll ever figure out Cathy is his sister unless they do a DNA test, but there would have to be a major impetus for that.

Those are the only ones I can think of...what ideas do y'all have?

I see Duo trying to have a big family to make up for his lack of one... but only if he's able to come to terms with his survivor's guilt and get past the mentality that sprung his quote, "Anyone who gets close to me dies." Of course, once he feel confident enough around a person that they're not going to die some awful death or get horribly maimed/injured by something, he does allow himself to open up and get close to them.

I can see him toying back and forth with the idea later in life to ditch the braid. I can see some people (maybe even Hilde) wanting him to keep it and trying to convince him not to cut it. I can see some people agreeing with the idea of cutting it off... and poor Duo stuck in the middle right back where he started and possibly just giving up and keeping it the first few times he considers it. It is an awful lot of hair... and I've been in a spot like that (debating cutting off a massive amount of hair). It's surprising how attached you can get to it. Add to that the fact that Duo is a very sentimental person and the braid has significant sentimental value to him, it would be a tough decision for him to make, even with the idea of more convenience and less headaches in the mix.

As far as a job, I was under the impression that the salvage shop he and Hilde ended up with was tied in with the Sweepers... so there's probably some stability in that, since it's part of a larger group. In addition, Duo's got the side business with the delivery stuff, and, in a pinch, we all know he'd help out with the Preventors if they asked him to. Maybe not full time, but he'd definitely pitch in if he needed the cash or it was a big enough problem they needed his help with. However, I think he'd wait for them to come to him... if only for the ego stroking he'd get for it.

I honestly can't see Duo getting rid of the braid. I can see him making it shorter so it doesn't hit the floor when unbraided, but still keeping it long enough to slap against his a** all day.

Heero, I could see him being a Preventer on the side, but mainly being Relena's personal body guard if only to protect her.

I've always imagined Quatre going into Politics when he gets older. For me, it's he saw how the goverment was run while he was a Gundam Pilot and wanted to change that. He would stay with his father's buisness, but also try to change things.

Just random thought I had during lunch with my other GW obsessed friends.

Quatre seems the type to feel very obligated to make things right. However, it's in Preventor 5 that he doesn't like working the family business with all the paperwork and desk duties and stuff... he tells Wufei, "This isn't me," and follows him in a heartbeat to help rescue the hostages at Relena's party.

I see all five of them doing side jobs for the Preventors when needed. I can't imagine they'd all be willing to just let that drop completely.

Zechs and Noin will stay on Mars... maybe even help establish a branch of the Preventors there once the terraforming project is complete. Noin will wear him down, and they'll start a family on Mars.

Mariemeia would want to avoid politics like the plague. People may try to push her one way or another, and she'll rebel. She'll want to avoid the public eye, feeling guilty for her grandfather's work and feeling paranoid that people still hate her for what happened.

In regards to Mariemaia, if she could get over what happened in the past, all kinds of avenues would open up to her. Raised by two prominent and intelligent political figures (first Dekim, then Une), and she seems to be a pretty bright girl herself. Maybe she could become a teacher or something...

I used to talk about this topic with my friends a lot, but I can't remember a lot of what we said (quite possibly a good thing, as this was mostly in Junior High).

I agree with what has been said about the ex-pilots working, at least part of the time, for Preventers. I think all of them have been too deep in all the revolution and turmoil to just step away from it entirely.

I think Quatre will stay on with his father's work for many years after EW, if only out of a mixture of obligation and there being no one else to really give the corperation to right away. He's obviously talented enough to be able to handle that and he has enough self-restraint (and sense of duty) to stick with it until he is certain that someone else is ready to take control. Then I can see him gladly making the switch and retiring early for a year or so until he finds something that he'd actually enjoy doing. I think he'd probably end up working for Preventers... he'd make a very good person to be in charge of their public appearance, what with his wonderful diplomatic abilities, but I don't know if he'd be willing to do that or if he would think it to be too close to the job he just left. I think some of his need for action that he showed in Preventer 5 will dissipate once he gets out of the business world, but he might end up deciding to take something with a little more adrenaline than PA. At any rate, it would definitely be something where he works to help the people.

I don't know about Relena. neutral I agree that I don't think she'd want to stay in politics forever, but I think she wouldn't feel right about resigning her position (and I can't see her being politically maneuvered out unless it was by something nearly as drastic as Mariemaia's coup) since she was the main driving force behind the peace they achieved. So, yes, she might leave, but not for quite a while.

What do people think about Dorothy? I can see her finishing up whatever she had going on during the series and EW, then jumping into the political ring. The speech she made to the gathered people in EW especially reminded me of how charismatic she can be.
