Amleth smiled lightly as she padded through the graveyard, stepping over bits of bone and rock without thought. When she had first arrived, she'd tripped and fallen over every little obstacle and gotten lost quite a bit. Now navigating the bone yard was a second nature, and she hardly thought about it. It truly was home.

The cubs were finally old enough to be left at home in the den by themselves for short periods of time, and so Amleth was taking a walk. She wanted some time alone with Duhushi, as well. It was hard to get a word in edgewise with the three rowdy cubs.. she didn't know how Ny handled FOUR.

Shaking her head, the hyena-marked lioness lept lightly onto a large thighbone and scouted across the mists for any sign of purple...and her mate.

Duhushi treked over the Graveyard. He had seen his mate nor his childern in quite some time because of partrolling. He really needed someone else to do it so he could have more free time. With a flick of his tail, Duhu slid down a massive flank bone, chipping off small pieces of white with his claws. The purple King almost glided over the dusty ground.

Ausha had actually entrusted what he had to him. Dhamisa had been gone far too long and his aging father knew that. The green mist surrounded as he rounded geysers. He would've choked had he not been so accustom to it. He wasn't too far from the den now. Maybe he'd have a chance at finding her.

"Amleth?..."

Amleth's ears perked as she spotted the blob of purple coming through the mists. As she heard her name, she grinned and slipped off the thigh bone, padding swiftly over to her best friend and nudging him under the chin with her head.

"Duhu!" she said happily, draping her forepaws over his back and tugging one of his ears with her teeth. "Where've you been? I missed you."

She slid off and gave him a quick once-over to make sure he hadn't come back with any new scars, then licked his cheek. "You look tense."

Duhu smiled at the sight of his mate, purring at the soft touch of her paws on his back. His tail tuft flicked against her flank as he licked her forehead in greeting.

"I was off on patrol. There aren't many others around here to do that and I wanted to make sure you and our little ones weren't in any danger." His eyes softened an he drew in an almost forgotten breath. How exactly would she take it? Would she like being Queen? Duhu smiled, trying hard not to bare his fangs as he fell back on his haunches.

"Father gave me something important today..."

Amleth sat down beside him and tilted her head, grinning. "That was very responsible of you," she teased, flicking her tail. "They're sleeping now, I think, but we shouldn't leave them alone for too long."

At mention of his dad, Amleth's grin vanished, replaced by a look of curiosity. She'd only met Ausha once, but it had been very... interesting. She was oddly fond of Duhushi's rather petite and unusual father.

"Really?" she inquired, the vagueness of his statement making her ever more curious. "What did he give you?"

Duhu purred and rested with his chin on her head, tail flicking. "Leaving our cubs for any amount of time probably isn't the best thing for them but they can last for a few moments longer." The energy inside him was bubbling as he thought of everything that had happened.

Cubs, a mate and now this...

With a soft chuckle and a lck between her ears, the King began his story in quite astonishing detail of how he had bumped into his father while she was still pregnant and the wonderful talk they had had.

"This place is ours, My Queen..." He hoped that somehow she would connect what he was saying. She had done quite amazing things with his thoughts before.

"Really?" Amleth gaped, staring at her friend. She returned the lick by rubbing her head under his chin, absently. For a few long moments she contemplated what he had said. She had known that at least some of the pridal duties would probably fall to Duhushi, (and, by association, her) someday, but this was sudden. Could they manage? Were they prepared?

She wasn't even sure she knew most of the pride members! It would take a lot of work, but Duhushi seemed so pleased, and perhaps they could make it a better place..!

"That's wonderful, Duhu," she purred, nipping his ear affectionately. "But there must be so much to do... the pride is so broken.."

Duhushi nodded, not quite sure himself if it was a good or bad thing. This pride seemed so desolate. So empty. Green eyes starred at the dusty ground as he thought about what their pride was starting from.

Them...

"This is why father gave me the pride. He was aging and the pride needed life that he could no longer give it. We've already done so much. Father is so proud of our lives so far." The purple king nudged his mates cheek, giving off a soft rumble in his throat. "If he has faith in us then I believe him..."
