Okay! Yes, this is, in fact, a role-play survival guide. Here you will find useful tips on how to be a good, if not, better role-player.
Of course, I will add more tips but, if anyone has any other tips or ideas please PM me about it. Thanks. ^_^
#1. Number one. Almost always the most important. And what I am about to mention is something every, at least half-way decent Rper, dreads;
Sucky role-player
-walks in and closes door- -she smiles- omg this place is pumpin. wow
-hissssssssss- Yuck. That sort of role-playing is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. Dear God! It hurts me just to read it, let alone write it! Basically, put as much detail as possible into your posts!!! Be literate!!!
#2. When you make a character, for the love of God, do make sure that it relates to the topic of the RP. For example, don’t make a super smart/high tech scientist dude in a Renaissance RP; It’s just not right.
#3. When posting in character, post in third person. Think as if you were writing a book... Or at least part of one...
#4. Minimize your font to size nine. You don’t have to do this, but it really makes your post look nice and neat.
#5. I you have to, type your post in MS Word and use spell check.
#6. when posting in OOC, please use ((brackets)). It lets everyone know that whatever you’re posting or what section of whatever you’re posting is OOC.
#7. If you have a question related to the role-play in which you are participating in, don’t be afraid to ask someone. (Preferably ask the person who created it.) I’d think it better for you to know everything before you post rather than post something really long and have to go back and fix the whole thing.
