This is mainly for new recruits. We have to test then to make sure they're punctual, literate and willing to adhear to our rules.
This is the place to do so.

I will add some rules later, but for now, this is just a thought.

Okay people. I think I may or may not start sucking new users into our humble abode. It'd be easier to keep this guild more active (aswell as Travis and myself actually posting on time. >.<)

So, this here is our testing grounds. I'll get to it's describtion in just a moment. Before I do, I just want to lay down some ground rules for newbies to this guild and veteran users.

Repeating myself again, this is our testing ground. Reason I have made this is to (quite obviously) test our user base. We have specific wants and needs in this guild and this thread is designed to teach and test those want's and needs.

First and for most, we're all here to have fun. This whole thing is building off a story that Diablo and myself created x amount of ages ago. We decided to pick up on that story, even though the initial one ended (before it even began) and make something of it. If you get in a conflict with another user, seek me out (on either this account or my main; Joseph_Katsuya) and I'll do what I can to sort it out.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or just ask in our OCC Thread.

Please try and make peace with our members. If you're going to RP here, you're gonna have to get along with them. I hope that we can all get along outside of our characters, but that doesn't mean the character's we'll be playing neccesarily have to follow that rule. Remember, it's an RPG.

Role. Playing. Game. Don't take the fun out of it. xD

Another thing to take note of, this guild is based mainly on battle. It's not a complete neccesity. I am aware some of you prefer not to. That's fine, we do need more who are just for the sake of RPing. Just remember where you are, though. You're in a guild that revolves around assassins. Assassin's kill. Hence; Battle.

I'll fill you in on the plot later on, but for now, we're here to train you.

A brief message for older members.

I may or may not ask you to test a new reqruit for me. I can't always be here and I can't always take action. So I'll need help from all my members. I'd like to make the training session a unique one, that's different for each new member. I'll figure out how I'm going to do that when the time comes. For now, just know that you may be asked to participate in these sessions.

Another thing to keep in mind, this thread in no way follows our plot. Be in character, but don't worry about how it fits into our story. Cause it doesn't. I'll let you decide what you'd like to do when you're training others, just follow my example and above all, be fair and have fun. biggrin

A message to new members.

There are some ground rules you must obey if you are to participate in this guild. We don't ask for much, so don't worry.

The most important is the RP flow. We run on a turn based system. It will slow things down significantly, so we ask that you have patience. Before I explain further, allow me to give you an example.

Let's say, Joe, Bob, Frank, Dennis and yourself are all RPing in a thread.

Now, we must choose who goes first. Normally, we'd just go in order based on when the person joined. Say Dennis makes the thread and asks Frank to RP with him. So the turns go like this.

Dennis posts.
Frank posts.
Dennis posts.

Now at this point, let's say Bob comes in and posts after Dennis.

Now it would go.

Dennis.
Bob.
Frank.
Dennis.

If you and Joe come in a the same time, but he posts before you, you would have a turn after him.

Dennis.
Bob.
Frank.
Joe.
You.

See where I'm going?

Let's just say, if all of you came in at the same time, right from the beggining, how would you handle that?

Well, two choices. Have the thread creator post first, then the rest of you post whenever and go in the order in which the posts are layed out.

OR.

Have the thread creator pick a number between 1 and 10 (or higher, based on how many are joining), then have the RPers guess the number and the closest to it goes first. The one second closest goes second. Third goes third. So on and so forth.

Now as I was saying, things can get a little slow. Because you must undoubtable wait for the person ahead of you to post before you can. I may make a rule that is an exception to this at some point, but for now, that's how it goes.

Some people post the second they realise it's their turn. Some take a little longer. Some take up to a month. This is either based on availability or lack of creativity. I ask you not to half a** your post and not to one-line it. I ask that you go into full detail about what's being done. How you do it is solely up to you, but please make sure you try. I understand that sometimes we find it hard to find the right things to say. I'll let a short paragraphed post or two slide now and then, but don't make a habit of it, please. I work my arse off to give the highest quality post I can. In return, all I ask is that you do the same.

And patience is a must. You will not be posting once a day (unless you're like me and have multiple characters and are taking part in multiple RPs). There is one other thing. I ask that you kindly PM the person who's turn is after yours, just to notify them that it is their turn. Some people are busy and may not always check. Atleast if you notify them, they'll know as soon as they check their PM box. If things seem to take too long, I'll handle it personally.

One last note. I ask of you; Please follow the plot and settings I have created here. The two main characters live in a more modernized time, but barely touch technology. We prefer to do things in a more older fashion. Though guns exist in our time line, we frown upon their use. Same goes for automobiles. T.v.s, discman, refridgerators and other major appliances we can handle. Cellular phones aren't useable. Besides, we RP in lush, thick forests and there would be no signal anyways, so there's not point in even trying. The setting is basically a long distance away from the map of Gaia (on this site) in a forest long forgotten. We are halfway across the country from Barton Town, so it's a long walk there. Also, there are no roads to travel on, so vehicles would be impossible to use. Plus, there are no gas stations relatively close, so you'd run out of fuel. We do carry a large stock of AA and AAA batteries for all your portable needs and we do have electricity. We don't know how yet, but we do. We also own a bar, so we have plenty of food and plenty of drink. We don't know where we get this from either, we just do.

-Diablo suggests that it's good old Elvish magic! I explain nothing I don't have to do, just claim it as magic and it works! - Edited in by Diablo Darkfire 02/15/07

...It's better that you don't ask questions. xD
...(That was a joke)

Hmmm...

This post is supposed to state what our training room (the area in which you will be tested in) is supposed to look like.

But as of now, I have no idea as to what it should look like.

So I'll make it up as I go and add to this later. >_>

Okay, I think we're gonna to have our first 'trainee' today.

Mika (if there's something else you'd like me to call you, please tell me. xD), for now, let's just go over a few things out of character.

Okay. Well, this is my first time, so it may not be perfect.
I'll try not to make it too boring.

Ahem.

So, welcome to our guild. As I'm sure you know, this guild is mostly about battle, though for me, it's more about the story than anything (fighting is just a fun bonus).

Now, I'm sure you've got the ground rules down, about the ToS and respect and all that jazz, so I won't bug you too much on that.

Before we start, do you have any questions at all?
PostPosted: Sat May 05, 2007 2:57 pm

Nothing as of right now. The only thing that I really need to know about is a more detailed version of the Plot. I understand that it's in a lush forest with elctricity and a bar (but no technology) and that it's based around a battle, but do you have a version of the story typed up?

Excellent question!

The answer: No, we do not. There is no typed up version of the actual story.

Why? I don't wanna give everything away from square one.

It's like in reality. When a bunch of people are sitting in a room talking and one person starts to tell a joke, and at the last 2 lines of the joke, you walk in. You only get it from that point in time and you never really get the joke until someone who heard it tells it to you again.

Basically, I just wanted to make coming into the story a little more realistic for the new comers. It's easier to act like you don't know what's going on, when you really don't know what's going on.

Alrighty then! It's a learn the story as you go process. coolies!

I'll give you a bit of info on the story before you start RPing. There are just a few things I want to get out of the way, first.

First thing's first. Life. It comes up. Quite often. And most times, we can't put it on hold. So it'll take us a while to post due to our own realities. It's kind of annoying, but it has it's advantages.

I'm beginning to lose my train of thought here...

That's bad.
