I'm having problems with it, I'm totally ******** confused.
Okay, the reason I downloaded skype was so that I could call my (then) girlfriend (Who lives in Georgia, I'm in Canada) on the phone via skype. It was free.
Before the new year, I got an email saying skype calls to normal phones would be charged starting during the new year. I was like "okay, makes sense". As such, I figured Skype would just stop working altogether... but I still have it on my laptop.
Now, I've been trying to find a new free VoIP program so I can call her again, but in the midst of it I read something about Skype still being free. So, I tried it out, and it works... but now there's (what I'm assuming is) a charging fee under the name of the person I'm calling.
What worries me is that I have not disclosed any of my personal information to skype. No email, no nothing. I don't see how in the hell they could bill me for this... except through possibly my IP address.
So, help me:
1- Know of a free VoIP program? Even though she's not my girlfriend anymore, I love this girl, and I want to talk to her.
2- Is it possible to bill someone off of an IP address alone?
3- Do you think Skype is somehow billing me?

You shouldnt have to call her via Skype?
If both of you have Skype, then both of you can talk online for free
Skype cannot bill you anything unless you magically put in your information somewhere on the program

Also, she has no mic crying . (I know, crappy). Also, I asked her about the whole "somehow billing through the IP address" and she said it was illegal. You think she's right?

Oh, and guys, I figured out what was going on. Apparently when the new year hit, Skype gave everyone 1 minute's worth of call time. I found out that I had used it all up when I phoned her and was cut off after saying, "It's been so long!" xd

Oh, and guys, I figured out what was going on. Apparently when the new year hit, Skype gave everyone 1 minute's worth of call time. I found out that I had used it all up when I phoned her and was cut off after saying, "It's been so long!" xd Seriously? I live maybe 15-20 minutes from Cumming.

He's 6 years younger than I am, but I found it to be creepy when I met him at a party up in cumming.
