I have no idea how to plan one or when to have one.
My problem is that my family is 300 miles away and most are not capable of driving down here. We may go up there when Mike gets his license but that all depends on when that is because the DMV is booked till April or May >.>
My Mom and Godmother are driving down here probably Feb or March and I just need them at my baby shower.
But I'm only about 6 weeks into my pregnancy. Is that too soon to ask people to buy things or throw a shower? I've never even been to a baby shower xP

Generally, other people throw you the baby shower, not the other way. But if it's just a few friends and family, the informal thing is always nice and casual. I waited till I was out of the first trimester (and after I knew the sex) before I went and registered at Babies R Us and Target. That way IF someone wanted to get me something it was there and it also helped me get an idea of what I needed to get before the baby was born.
It also helped with relatives out of state so they could mail items if they wanted to, which was always so nice of them.
I had one with my last son and it was so casual. Just some dinner, cake (of course!), and chatting.

Well I've only had one and it's my only experience, lol. I guess it wasn't the "traditional" baby shower, but I didn't want to do the stupid games and stuff. Also, didn't do any themes. If you want more info on baby showers, here's a link: http://allaboutshowers.com/baby/
