Since there are questions about the world that I can't seem to answer completely all the time this will be the place to get things answered. If you want to know something specific, or want to do something different and want an okay, ask here. Questions that will add to just the general knowledge of this world as a whole will be posted on this first post for everyone to peruse. All others will be answered in this thread to the individual.
When do dragons bind? Is it instinctive? Can it be done by accident?
It's a decision by the dragon when they become an adolescent. They basically overpower a human mind and bind it to their own. If a dragon becomes close to a human it's easier but the dragon still has to make the choice to bind them.
Can dragons bind more than one human? Can one human be bound by more than one dragon?
Yes and yes. However, both are extremely dangerous as a mind can only take so much. It's difficult enough for a dragon and human to share a mind, so try and imagine what would happen if a dragon tried to share with multiple minds, or a human was shared among multiple minds as well. The sheer strain of it would either kill the human or drive them insane. Dragons don't bind multiple humans as it's a good way to kill their Dragon-Bound and is viewed as a perversion by their own kind. Humans aren't bound to multiple dragons for the same reason.
What age do dragons bind people at?
Dragons can bind humans at any age. A human's growth and aging will slow once they are bound, however, since their lifespan now matches that as a dragon. That's not to say that they won't mature, it'll just be slower. The optimal age is a young adult but there isn't anything wrong with binding a younger human though, it's just different.
Can dragon eggs show up in places other than a hatchery?
Eyup. Any place that will keep the eggs warm is a viable place for a mother dragon to lay her eggs. And unfortunately, sometimes bad things happen and someone finds the nest while the mother or other dragons are away. It's not unheard of for a human to steal the eggs for greed or spite.
