The green lioness padded along, her ears pricked as the sound of water reached her ears. She turned to the steely blue lion beside her, pale yellow eyes sparkling. Water. She loved water almost as much as she did leaves, and if anything, the sound of water sloshing against land brought as much cheer as the gentle whisperings of the leaves did. And she knew that Juke would have heard the water too, for he was so much more in tune with the music than she. "Why is it so loud, though?" She wondered aloud, for she had never heard water the way she heard it now, and it was quite new to her.

The air was different here too, for there was a new smell. It wasn't quite like the air she was used to, for there was something... salty about the air here. She sniffed curiously, pausing in her stride to ponder this new smell. Yes, it was strange enough. She had never thought anything could smell like this, in all of her wanderings as a rogue.

((I hope you don't mind me joining in. Her picture is in my sig. If so, let me know. =) ))

Shimah had been getting used to the land. Lately, she's been finding the sound of the ocean rather relaxing and it's helped her get to sleep. She was out and about, hoping to find more lions to meet up and hopefully get to know more of this area. It didn't take her long before spotting a figure in the distance. What surprised Shimah the most was the color...another green lioness! With a smile, she called out "Hello!"

The male came to a slow halt, the tide's gentle reflection shining in his shiny blue eyes. The rhythm was methodic, slow and consistent. It was the heartbeat of this land, the gentle crash and receding of the water. Why did it do that? It was unlike the currents of the waters he had seen in his life. What a curious thing for water to do. He looked over at his traveling companion with a shrug. "I dunno. It's so strong, though..." He spoke with a tinge of admiration for the beast of a lake, if that's what it was. Perhaps it was one of those fabled seas in the old stories? How curious.

As another green lioness trotted up with a merry grin, he bowed his head, but took a back seat in the conversation. It was interesting how she looked a bit like his Muujiza.. woah, woah, HIS? Where had that come from? He blinked, obviousley perplexed, but wuickly shrugged it off as a stray thought. They had spent a lot of time together in the past few weeks, after all. That had to be it. Instead of joining in the chatter, he tossed a glance out to the never ending blue to his side. It was so vast and magificent...

((Heheh, the more the merrier xD))

"I've never heard water so loud before," She mused with a small smile of fascination. She wondered if it was simply a monstrous lake, or if it was something else. Something more savage than a lake, yet more beautiful by far.

The lioness tilted her head and turned at the sound of a voice calling out. It was only after a moment of blankness that she finally reacted and returned the greeting, "Hello." It was shocking. This other lioness was just as green as she was, and that was enough to take the words from her muzzle. As the other lioness neared, Muujiza squinted, and she thought she saw a flash of yellow almost the same shade as her own eyes. "Tell me I'm just imagining this..." She muttered, more to herself than anything. The closest she had ever come to seeing a lion like herself was Nyack, and even he only had a green mane. But this lioness was different. She was so... green. Like herself.

((Wow, they even have the same eye color xD))

((Oh wow, I never noticed that. xd ))

Shimah neared the lioness and noticed the bluish male with her. How could she have missed him? Her gold eyes shifted between the two, excited about seeing another green lion. This place was just getting better with each passing day! She stopped near the two before dipping her head in respect for the two; her mother had taught her manners afterall. "Are you new here? I'm Shimah." She looked over the two lions, were they members of the pride or were they trying to join just like she was? She was curious, but she wasn't nosy enough to get into anyone else's agenda.

At first, Juke had not really wanted to talk with the other green lioness, and would have rather lapped up some of the water that kept rushing towards him. There was something odd about it, though, something that made him think twice about rushing over for a taste. At the tis of those hill like mounds was something white and light looking. It didn't look very tastey, whatever it was, but he had the urge to touch it. His attention, though, quickly turned back to the green prides lioness. "It's nice to meet you, Shimah. I am Juke." He'd allow Muujiza to introduce herself and answer the question, as the pair already showed an interest in eachother. They did, after all, have the common ground of being green. This little fact made the lion feel slightly left out of some secret club, and he let his mind wander to the particular interesting music the area gave off.

It was a strong beat, that was for sure. Strong, yet comforting. There was something in it that called to Juke, telling him that this was the place for Muujiza and him. The birds here were different, as well, singing songs that were unlike anything he had ever heard before. Even the wind was different here. It smelled of something unfamiliar, yet intriguing. He licked his lips, trying to taste it. Why, it was something that was in meat! He couldn't pin a name to it, but perhaps a nice walk with the king or queen of the terrain would answere all these unknowns. back to the music, though. It was different, yes, but enjoyable. Something to dance to. Oh yes, this pride would do.

Muujiza bobbed her head slightly in response to the other lioness's greeting, although why, she had no idea. She had grown up really having... nothing, and teaching her manners had not been the first thing on Muujiza's mother's mind. No, it had all been about knowing how to keep herself hidden, how to move swiftly, stealthily, and how never to entangle herself into something she couldn't handle. And so it was strange for the lioness to nod at another, but she didn't question it. "My name is Muujiza," She said, watching Juke out of the corner of her eye and almost chuckling when he stuck his tongue out as if trying to taste the air. "Yea, we're new here," She added. "We only just got here, actually, but it seems rather nice," She wondered if Shimah were part of the pride that resided nearby, or if she, too, had only just arrived.

Her gaze flickered between Shimah, Juke, and the water that rolled up gently against the land, wondering how nice this place really was. It seemed quite pleasant, that was for sure, and given the way Juke was reacting to everything around them, she thought he might like the place as much as she did. Oh, reading Juke's actions was certainly getting much easier ever since they had started travelling together in search of some place to settle down. They had been spending a lot of time together. No, that was an understatement. They spent every minute of every day together travelling, and it was small wonder that she more or less knew him like the back of her paw now. Yes, perhaps this place would be wonderful. And perhaps it would be the right place to stay.

Shimah gazed at the two of them, glad to meet them both. It was nice to see others here, she had yet to meet Miani's parents. Her tail flicked slightly before she spoke, "A pleasure to meet the both of you. I came here not too long ago myself. It is nice to meet new lions." Her golden eyes shifted towards the water, "I have met a few lions here that speak of a pride here, but I have yet encounter the King or Queen yet. They are probably busy, I gather."

She let her paw play with the sand a bit, it was quite a different feeling than the grass she was accustomed to. The ocean though, it was different. "It's a shame that the sea is so large and full of water, but not to drink."

Lost in his own little musical world, he left the lioness to their talk and closed his eyes with a relaxed sigh. Jiza could handle herself, and as far as he knew, females could very much enjoy talking amoungst themselves. He knew for sure that he liked a little male talk every once in a while. Perhaps he coul become friends with a male or two here? They could talk about their mates and their litters and general life by the giant funny-melling lake. Cubs, he thought again, chewing the word for a moment's time. Little ones danced across his eyelids, little blue boys with green manes and yellow eyes playing with green girls with blue markings. He hardley noticed a signifigance in the colors, too lost in thoughts of future days. It would be a nice life, wouldn't it? A nice life after such a not nice start. Of course, Juke was not one to complain. He had it far better as a rogue than some others did. Pride life, however, sounded so appealing...

Though his mind was far off in some unknown place, a trait he had picked up from Muujiza over their time together, he was listening to the conversation, if only somewhat. The mention of the large lake, or the 'sea' as Shimah had called it, perked his interests and quickly claimed his attention. It could not be drunk? But it was so large! What else was there to do with it? Swimming, perhaps, bu he had never done such a thing on the savannah. Or fishing? Did the fish live in this so called 'sea'? Where were they to drink if not there? "Uhm, 'scuse me ma'am, but why can't we drink from this... sea?" He hadn't meant to butt in, but there was an undying desire to unerstand this new world taking over his mind.

"Oh?" Muujiza wondered what the pride that resided near the water were like, and she wondered if they would all be blue like the sea. Or like her Juke. Perhaps they wouldn't be, though, for Shimah was just as green as herself and she didn't suppose the other lioness was hanging around for no reason. She paused, her train of thought running forward and backward in her mind until... Juke. Her Juke, that was what she had thought. She blinked, shooting the lion a brief glance and wondering where it had come from.

Muujiza tilted her head and stared contemplatively at the water. The 'sea'. "It's not drinkable?" She wondered aloud, obviously surprised. She looked up as Juke inserted his question, and nodded.

Shimah watched Juke for a bit, noting that he seemed to be lost in thought until her comment made him question her. She smiled before looking towards the ocean, "It doesn't taste good, it's actually very bitter. I guess if you liked that taste, it wouldn't bother you, but the water isn't all that great for drinking." She nodded, "Though the fish here are very tastey!" Her tail flicked from side to side as she remember trying to catch her first fish here. It had been very difficult, she would admit to that.

Juke was very surprised at this new piece of information, and looked back out at the ocean with new eyes. Fish were a delicacy he rarely indulged in, but as far as he could tell, that was the only meal here. For a moment, he wondered if there were any herds that centured to this place, and if the pride here was large and fruitful. He remained silent while he thought, but far from still. The beat of this place had grown on him, and he had taken to bobbing his head to the rhythm, not wanting to break out in total dance while in conversation. "Fish are lovely." His voice was distant, but not cold. More of a.. slightly spacey tone. His thoughts turned to another matter, however, as the sudden realization that Shimah must be a part of the pride. "Have you met the King and Queen of this place, Shimah?"

"Mm, fish," Muujiza nodded with a smile. It was rather uncommon for one to find fish in the oases, but perhaps the sea held more fish. But if the water was bitter, she did wonder how it was that more fish preferred to live in the bitter water as opposed to the sweet, clear water in the oases. She peered at the rolling water, as if squinting for fish.

She glanced at Juke, who was bobbing his head and seeming fidgety, although the lioness knew he was simply trying to keep from breaking out in dance. She heard him say 'fish are lovely', and chuckled. He was starting to sound like her. She knew it was hard to converse with her sometimes, for she tended to drift off into her own little world and no amount of talking could pull her back until she was done there.

Shimah smiled at the two, it must be nice to have a companion with you. She sometimes missed her family back at home, she hasn't seen them since she was just a cub. How things must have changed with them...but, she was happy where she was now. Her tail flicked back and forth slightly as a fleeting emotion of loneliness passed through her. She brushed the feeling away, knowing that with time she'd find someone for her. Her attention was brought back to the duo as she shook her head, "Sadly, I have not met the King and Queen of this place yet. I have met their daughter not too long ago. She was very friendly, which I hope it's safe to assume that her parents are just the same."

If Shimah had yet to meet the leaders, he assumed she was not yet truely a member of the pride. Such a thought made him wonder how hard it would be to join the group, and if they would ever be accepted socially. He tossed Muujiza a glance, trying to figure what she was thinking off from her facial expressions. Her wandering mind was difficult to capture, however, and he failed miserably. There would probablly never be a day when he could truely guess her thoughts by just looking at her, but he liked that about her. She was a total mystery, an undying question that could never be answered. She had his curiosities perked, that was for sure. However, now was not the time to think about this. That was for later, maybe around dusk when they were finally resting. Right now, he had other things to worry about. There was a king somewhere near this ocean, and a male rogue was far more threatening than two females. He had to meet this male soon and make it known he was not here to contest his power. "I would think so. She hasn't learned hatred yet, I'm guessing, which means the parents don't display it." Juke subscribed to the 'cubs are born with kindness, hatred is learned' theory, and he was a strong believer in it.
