Perilas had decided to bring Nibal to the local indoor swimming pool. The boy loved bath time, so it only made sense that he would like swimming as well. He'd told Nibal about going swimming and the boy had, of course, opted for it, though he had begged Peri until the man had given in and brought along swim trunks as well.
The two walked out of the men's locker room in swim trunks and with a towel draped over their shoulders. They found a spot to kick off shoes and place their towels before heading over towards the water. Peri was a bit nervous about Nibal's poison in the water, but he didn't seem to have problems in the tub and the pool would have chemicals in it that would hopefully counteract the poison anyways. Just in case, the usual bag of anti-toxins had been carried along and set next to the towels.
"C'mon, P'las..." Nibal reached out to start tugging on his father's hand, but stopped before making contact. Neither of them had their gloves on, so touching was a no-no.
The man grinned at the boy. "I'm coming." As he walked with the boy to the shallow end, he scanned the swimming pool for signs of hot women. Or... just women. They didn't have to be hot. That was just a bonus.

If he was looking for hot, there was his brand new co-worker, battle-specific, Turner, sitting at the edge of the pool, swinging her legs in the water, and grinning at an equally attractive short young-woman, with short fly-away red hair. And a snarky, tall child with a short ponytail. Tyven. Purple, and clearly not human, she was hissing quietly at the water, obviously not wanting to get in. Undeveloped, she was only wearing shorts , and her lanky limbs were sprawled out on her towel. An indoor pool was even worse than the first one she went to.
At least at the outdoor one, she could lay in the sun... This? This was DISGUSTING. Jem, her redheaded guardian, bounced over, and yanked the girl up by the arm, laughing cheerfully.
"Aww, Tyvvie, don'tcha wanna swim?"
GLARE.
"No."
Yanking her arm away, she spun from her mother, who was just outside of the pool, and walked right into another kid heading for the shallows, a pretty-colored boy. Their bare torsos and arms brushed. Hissing loudly, Tyven quickly shifted away, and blinked, blank-faced.
"...."
No apology, apparently. Jem was right there, the next second, speaking up.
"Sorry! Is he okaaay? So cute! Bald!"

Peri had spotted the two women, though one of them had a bandaged up arm. That might give him a conversation starter or something. He was debating talking to Turner or to the other woman with her. Hey, maybe he could even get lucky and score with both. Perhaps even at once.
Nibal was oblivious to his father's thoughts. He was more excited about swimming. Suddenly someone bumped right into him. He was startled for a moment, trying to regain his balance on the wet floor by the pool.
Peri, meanwhile, was starting to spazz out. He turned to look at Jem, his eyes wide in shock. "Yeah, he's fine, but... she's not! Nibal's poisonous! Hang on a moment, I brought some anti-toxins, just in case of this..." He was saying the last sentence as he turned to head back and grab the bag. Good thing he was always prepared for something like this happening. Maybe a pool was a bad idea. Almost naked poisonous kid running around did not equal anything good. Unfortunately, Peri hadn't looked at Tyven's file yet, seeing how the girl was too young to have had more than the egg tour with him and he only read name, DNA, gender, and egg for that.
Nibal blushed as his dad scurried over towards the bag to get an anti-toxin.

Tyven was acting rather nonchalant for someone who'd just been poisoned, and Jem as well seemed rather unconcerned, as did Turner, who simply raised an eyebrow at the group, and chuckled. Tyv ran a hand through her puple hair, and showing a strange amount of decency, patted Nibal on the shoulder, seeking to soothe him. This probably only added to the panic, but by the time Perilas got back...
"I'm fine."
Was all the stoic girl said, but Turner spoke up from where she sat at the pool, looking highly amused.
"Tyven's immune to venom and toxins. She's fine. Might get a little dizzy later, if they touch all over for too long, but otherwise? Naww. Your kid's just another brat to her."
Tyven's smirk agreed.

Peri blinked as he came back, already preparing the anti-toxin to jab into the girl. "Huh?" He blinked, turning to look at the woman with the bandaged arm. "She's... immune?" Well, that was rather convenient, though the man's heart was still racing. "Oh." He blushed a bit. Well, how was he supposed to know anyways. He turned to go stick the pen back into the bag.
Nibal looked at the snake girl. "Immune?" He thought for a moment, then looked over at Turner. "So I don't make her sick?" That was good, right? She could touch him and not get sick and possibly die. He didn't know anyone else that could do that. He smiled at Tyven. "Cool."

Tyven wasn't exactly used to compliments that didn't come from her obnoxious family members. Rather, she was used to most kids thinking she was scary, or, like Emi, calling her a thing. Cool? That was new. The partially scaled creature folded her arms across her chest, and gave Nibal a blank look. "... Mmmn." She wasn't really the type to say thank you. Instead, she decided to actually speak to him. "Nibal," She'd heard his name, in the commotion, just as he'd probably heard hers. "What are you?"
Turner grinned, and stood up, strolling over and sticking out a hand to shake Peri's. She seemed to have only a few more manners than Jem, who was already back in the water. "Turner Herrick, new battle teacher. Y'Perilas, ain'tcha? Dragons?"

Nibal blinked at the snake girl. "Uh, blue poison dart frog..." At least he was assuming she meant his DNA. Obviously he was a boy, but other than that... "What are you?" Thrilled that he could actually touch the girl, he gently ran a finger over some of her scales.
Peri blushed a bit in his embarassment at Turner. "Uh, yeah... That's right." He shook the offered hand. "New battle teacher, eh? I'd heard there was some new teachers about." He'd also been hoping that they were female.

"A mistake." Tyven's lavender gaze was steady as it flicked from his eyes to his finger. It felt good, but she was unsure if she was uncomfortable with it. Cleo also touched her skin, rubbed oil into it, and that was amazing. However, that was Cleo, not him. Still, surprising Turner, she didn't hiss, nor did she remove Nibal's hand. Turner, supplying more information to Tyven's statement, spoke to the boy, before continuing her conversation with Peri.
"What she means is that she's an Indigo Snake. D-corp decided to see what would happen if they gave her legs, unlike the others." Now her grin was casual, and she ran a hand through her bangs. "Nice t'meetcha, Perilas. I was afraid all the other teachers would be old 'n ugly."

Nibal frowned a bit at Tyven's answer. "A mistake...?" His finger halted, but didn't remove itself from the girl's shoulder. The boy was glad that Turner elaborated upon Tyven's answer. "A snake?" It took the boy a moment to figure out what Turner meant by 'if they gave her legs'. "Oh. I didn't have legs for a while. They hurt when they grew... but I'm glad I have them now. There's a lot of stuff you can't do without legs."
Peri grinned at Turner. "Ah, well, I haven't met all of our co-workers yet. D-corp seems to keep us all busy... and as if work wasn't enough, they give you a kid..."
