Many of you might have already heard the murmurs about Yoshiki getting together with Gackt and Sugizo for a new project. News on the project as translated by gekka_no_nekoArticle on Sugizo's involvement as translated by tsukinoshitaAnd now the mumblings about Miyavi's rumored hand in the project... (article and translation to be posted when I can find a good link. But for those not in the know, there was something hinted at in in a video clip in Miyavi's blog about him possibly joining up with another band concerning an "older guy" and "Los Angeles" and "2007", the slated date for the megaproject to hit the street. Will it come to fruition as Miyavi fans hope, maybe, maybe not?) What are everybody's thoughts on it? ^_^ Could be great, huh? EDITVideo clip from Miyavi's blog as translated by MasakarasuThere we go!

I heard that Kaoru (Dir en Grey) was invited to join in this supergroup.
Unfortunately, I'm paranoid that this supergroup is going to cause Visual Kei/Oshare Kei to go in the direction of grunge, in which a bunch of supergroups form from old bands, and all the bands fizzle out and the trend enjoys a small mainstream high-point, then is subdued by nu-metal.
Yeah, that would suck, and is highly unlikely.

Yeah, that would suck, and is highly unlikely. Where'd you hear Kaoru was invited? o_O That seems incredibly out of left field (and like a fandom thing to make up). How will the formation of this supergroup change VK at all? ^_^; As far as I'm concerned, Yoshiki, Gackt and Sugizo are rather far removed from what VK has become. Personally, I think theyre representative of the old guard, a time when VK was still new and a lot more pure and a hell of a lot less commercial and petty than it is today. I think today's shiney, sparkly VK scene populated by a lot of young, glittery faces is pretty impervious. I'm not all too thrilled to hear Gackt is on vocals (unless his voice changed back from being weird and nasal)...I was hoping for some real hard rock, maybe old school metal of X Japan's ilk, and Gackt doesn't seem fit for that. But hey. He's good even if he doesn't do my kind of music, so I give him and the group my blessings.

The whole Kaoru thing that people were talking about was from Yoshiki went to whatever convention he went to, and he remarked that someone had hair that looked like Kaoru's, or something like that, and people thought he was talking about Kaoru joining his project.

But Dir en Grey is really busy these days anyway, so why would Kaoru join this project, even if he was invited to.

Yeah Diru is pretty busy with their own stuff, they just released a new album (Marrow of a Bone) and they're on tour in the US right now I believe. (Inward Scream Tour) I heard about the Kaoru thing too, but there's no concrete evidence to support his involvement.
I am personally very excited to see how this turns out. They are all (except Miyavi in my opinion) excellent musicians. I just hope what they put out is good, I don't care who's in it if they end up sounding like s**t I wont' botehr with them.
*happy*

HE'S THE ONLY ONE WHO COULD BE IN YOSHIKI'S BAND. HE SAID SO!! SEEEeE!1 IT'S TRUE!!!!! Shut up. We don't know if its true, yet). But he has talent, a lot of it, I would just prefer if he used it on his music instead of hamming it up wherever there was spotlight. Being in a band again, I think will do him a lot of good, for his music, his career, etc. He's best in a band ::nods:: He just might not really...fit in with the others who are old venerable greats, and Miyavi is sorta representative of where VK has gone today (for better or worse)...and his kind of popularity is a bit different (more hysterical perhaps) from that of Yoshiki, Sugizo, or Gackt... It's kinda like throwing, I dunno...Justin Timberlake in among really crusty old rock greats. As a friend put it "he'll stick out like a sore thumb" Regardless of what happens though, it'll be interesting to watch.

That's exactly what I was thinking... the other three have been around longer than Miyavi and are all like 10+ years older than him... but Miyavi does have amazing guitar skills. So, we've got Gackt on vocals, Sugizo on guitar and Yoshiki on drums/piano? It seems like a decent line-up so far to me. I've been trying to think of some of the older greats who would fit in well with them... (I admit that I initially thought Toshiya would be a great bassist for them, but he's too busy with Diru anyway.)[In Other News: VAMPI'S BACK FROM THE ABYSS! And will be updating the releases list in the near future...]

So, me and Vulgar were talking the other night about who we thought would fit in well with the super band, and we both agreed that someone from Buck-Tick or Kuroyume would work nicely. What do you guys think?
I'm also curious as to what their name will be... Until I know, I'm going to call them Gashikizo. xD

info. taken from here ---->****Gackt and co? Since when was this Gackt's brainchild ^_^;; It's totally a manifestation of Yoshiki's meglomania again. It'll be great though. And yes. That's the general gist of everybody's postulation that Miyavi may be a part of the mega group. That'd be kinda weird if he was, though...he just doesn't seem to fit in with the rest ^_^;; its like that old song..."one of these is not like the others" Ah well. If he's a part of the group, great, if he isn't, not the end of the world. I'd actually prefer the group to be made up of older, more venerable...more experienced and proven artists, but Miyavi is undeniably a skilled musician (no matter how much I'm not personally a fan). And as a side note. Not all bands have 2 guitarists ^_^; Though for maximum rockage...2 guitars are pretty hot...

I'm excited. They're all amazing musicians, I see no way for this to go wrong.
I personally find Miyavi to be extremely talented. He has a sound of his own, and can play guitar like no other. Think what you want.
X Japan was nothing short of amazing, and Gackt-era Malice Mizer had the best music. Together, I believe they will be amazing.
I doubt and wouldn't like it if Kaoru joined. THe band could end up sounding too much like Diru, and Diru would probably disband. Which would SUCK.
This band will be amazing, if/when it begins.
