Zuri'ramla reclined underneath a very scraggly tree, taking a break in the warm morning light. She had been searching not only for her sister now, but for Hijiku as well. Where had he wandered off? She had thought highly of him, as well as....well, personal. But after their meeting with Mufasa in the prides lands, moons ago, she had never seen him. Had he found a little female in the pridelands, that was just more c omforting then her? She knew she was odd, but it was a part of who she was, and she wasn't going to change for a male. Not unless she herself wanted to.
Her form slowly tightened as she pouted, her mind agitated that though she had lived and travelled, she still knew little on the heart. Stupid, you're supposed to know! she though. Seers know all, and you'd best keep up with your façade.
She huffed, and her mind settled. She'd go back to it, yes. She just wanted a morning to be a bit more herself, then Zuri.
Her tail flopped on the dry, dusty ground as she watched a herd move on. It seemed like dry times indeed, now, and it wouldn't fair well to keep living on her own. Things were a little more padded, more safe when you lived with others.

The massive male left the cove that his kin had welcomed him too. Trig tried to keep him back but that just ended up in a debate. Reluctantly, they negotiated and all was well...for the most part. The two had agreed to come back from time to time to catch up. After all, they were family. Vianzio, or Trigger as most have known him as, moved long the river, up-stream, just as his brother had told him. The male took heavy steps up the river bank, watching as the shadows of the fish life swim past him. It just made him want to snap one up and simply eat it. Either way, he was looking for a place to call his own rather then under control of another. At least it kept him calm.
The day pressed on and the heat on his back. His dark fur, accustom to the Firekin, just made things worse for him. His eyes narrowed more and more as each step fell to dusty ground. Heat....something he knew all his life in the desert of the Firekin lands. Those monsters....cruel evil creatures that should be wiped out. His hatred of them grew more and more whenever the heat swept over his fur, the image of his father, the mention of his mother, and even the scars that adorn his muzzle. Constant reminders of his blood-line and his sin. But he knew that that damned blood runs in his body and the influence it had on him was clear. He was stirring again....
Carefully, he made his way to a nearby tree, there he will rest and start again after the moon rises and his fur cools. The sun was already starting to dip low. Just a few more hours and the night will come and he could start again. The Pride Lands were near, not too far now.

Well, a visitor. Zuri sighed, a flare of irritation in her heart. Though she had been dozing all day, she had never expected a visitor in this more desolate patch of African earth. Fate played you tricks sometimes, it seemed.
She stirred, shifting around so she could view her visitor, though it was stupid to really pretend that he wasn't there. He was a large lion, larger then Zuri was used to, and thus gained a little attention from her. Sure she was a little intimidated by his size, but she wouldn't want him to pick that up as a weakness.
"Strangers meeting undernearth the same tree, and yet no greetings passed. Such strange times indeed for this world," she calmly stated, looking out over the darkening lands. She initiated the conversation, would he pick it up and flow with it?

"Strangers meet, but sometimes only one leaves."
He replied, his eyes narrowed as a constant scowl. Deep down his body was a growl, rolling around having the low warning noise echoing throughout his body as he seated himself under the gnarled tree. His figure was that of a strong one, he had involunteerarily worked on it since cubhood. He had no choice in the matter. Since he was a cub, his father, Dumiku, forced him to train day after day with little rest and even little sight of his mother. When she had died he trained even more and taken her duties over by his father's command. In short, he was quite big.
This female was small, then again many of them were to a Firekin. Her fur was of strange color, orange..blue...it is not something he saw often. The only abnormal colors he had ever witnessed was that of his closest and possibly his only friend, Fursani. But this female seemed different, the way she spoke just now it seemed....different. Wise?
"There is nothing strange in this world. I would assume that we both had the same intentions coming to this tree, so there is nothing strange about it."

The lioness' golden eyes slowly shifted towards the male, taking in his form. Well, she would be careful with this one. While he was large in one sense, he aws also large in his strength. One could not ignore the toned muscles that nestled underneath his deep red and black coat. She flexed her paws into the earth, calming herself before replying to him.
"Perhaps, but a greeting exchanged would be of a proper thing to do, hmm?" She asked politely, hoping that he wouldn't take it wrong. Were there any manners left in the world? She swallowed her pride and offered her name first, hoping he had the sense to reply. "A stranger I can be no more, if you so choose. I am Zuri'ramla, pleased to meet your aquaintance.

"Moto'Vianzio. You may call me Trigger if you so wish, no smart remarks."
He spoke sternly as he rolled his shoulder. The days walk was a bit boring and his shoulders were stiff, tired was far from. He eased himself down slowly, his fur rippling over the muscles on his body until he fell down with a thud. The growl continued to roll inside of him as he stared out into the landscape. So many different things had been going on here in the in-lands. Herds of prey, groups and families, while at the beach was only the soft sand and the rolling sea.
"Zuri'ramla, you seem to be quite wise and yet you are out here. Do you not seek a place of you own like I? You could be a valued member of a pride if you truely are intelligent."
Find it rather hard to imagine such a lion being civil. He had a tendency of being a jerk at times, but he had his moments. He crossed his paws before him and flicked his tail onto his side. Things have changed. He was older now, stronger too. He was glad he was able to live a life away from slavery, the one his father had grown him up in. He was free and yet he wasn't. There was something that seemed to hold him back....but what?

Zuri gave a deep, slow nod, taking in his name and filing it away in her memory. "Trigger it is, then."
She let herself blink lazily, letting herself relax before picking up the conversation again. She had not been quick enough, though, before Trigger had asked her a question himself. Her ears perked up, her heart warm with his words. She was indulgent when others called her smart, a drug that she could never get enough of. She shifted her position to face him a bit better, so she would not strain her neck while speaking with him.
"I had been sent from my original home to find my sister, the heir of our pride," she spoke calmly, but it was a bit strained. Always a sore spot on her heart, her home and her sister. "She had abandoned us, and I was to bring her home for trial. I..." she paused, closing her mouth before starting again. "I have not found her yet, and fear that I never will."
She cleared her throat, brushing her tail up to her side. A bit of a defensive pose, but she couldn't fully contain her disappointment with her failure. She paused before letting herself mentally shake it off, frusterated. Stop doing that.
"Now that my task is finished in terms, I am not sure what to do with myself. So here I sit, reflecting on my life and where to take it." She glanced over at him. "As we all do in certain transitions of our lives."

"You really wanted to bring your sister into trial? Could not find her? Sure you were trying hard enough? To the sounds of it, is was as if you weren't even trying to find her rather to spare her of her trial. She had reason to leave, didn't she?"
Trigger spoke, not very interested in the topic in hand. Why go in search of something that left for reasons of its own? Was she really willing to drag her own blood back for a trial? He didn't know the punishments of her pride, but anything to deal with a trial did not sound well. He looked over to her and narrowed his eyes. There was something about her.
"If you want to start a new start, then stop reflecting and find something that would interest you. Find a pride that could be of better use of your talents and wits than sitting here mopping. I myself am now seeking a place that would keep my interest and would desire my traits. Surely someone could find better use of me than some virile male."
With that, he carefully rolled himself onto his side. This was one trait that he shared with his half-brother, Trig, both could not bare to sleep on their bellies. Sure they may start that way but by time they wake up they would be on their sides or backs. It was how it was.
"Now if you do not mind, Zuri'zamla, I am going to rest for the night."

Zuri was quite surprised that he had shot back her words down her throat. What...was that? She snapped her jaw shut before huffing, irritated that he'd insult her like that. How dare he!
"There are things demanded of us from home," she started, not knowing what else to say except what rambled off of her light pink tongue. "Though you are right in the fact I failed." Embarassed that he seemed to see right through her, she pouted, letting her head rest on the ground in a submissive manner. What now? She couldn't fool him with her haughty words.
She watched the sky slowly darken, the stars peeking out from their hiding places, her mind pondering on his words. A new home, a new start would be best. But she'd always hold onto the hope of finding her sister, somewhere.
Besides, the past was always hard to let go, no matter what the future held.
"Fair dreams, Trigger," she said softly, and let her head flop away from him, deciding that it would be polite to stay, yet keep quiet for the large lion.
