I figured I should set up a quest thread. <3

Basics

Name: Onni
Meaning: Luck (Finnish)
Gender: Male
Species: God of Play
Stage: Cub
Personality: Onni is cheerful and goodnatured, rarely caught without a smile. He is the embodiment of his domain, always giddy and playful. Even as an adult, he will remain cublike in his enthusiasm and happy-go-lucky attitude. Despite his goofy attitude, however, he's quite intelligent.
Powers: Though he doesn't have any exceptional powers, Onni has a few tricks. He can conjure up anything that might be used as a toy - a stick, a bone, even a feather.

He can manipulate his own body for entertainment as well. He can switch any body part with one from an existing creature (IE, he can give himself an elephant's ears), though he can only keep the 'replacement' for up to 15 minutes at a time.

Description

In every stage, Onni has a tennis ball in his paws. For the first two stages, he wears an orange leather collar with tiny, rounded silver studs on it. His ears are exceptionally fluffy and his eyes are a dark brown. Also, he has no tail - or rather, only has a stub of a tail.

As a cub, Onni's fur is a deep, rusty orange. It has a curl to it but is not particularly fluffy. He has no tuft of a mane on his head.

Once he becomes a juvenile, his fur lightens and becomes a light orange-brown. He has a cream mask on his face and chest. His fur is long and scruffy with a bit of wave, and a tiny tuft of mane has begun to grow.

In his adolescent stage, Onni's orange fades into a golden cream colour. The mask on his face is still visible, but is fading fast. His fur is shorter and is fairly curly.

Finally, as an adult, his fur is beige all over, the cream markings having faded away completely. His fur is composed of loose curls. The god's mane is as full as it will ever get, being only a thick tuft of fur on his forehead (like the rogue male cub). It's a shade lighter than his fur.

Details

Onni is based off my dog, Lucky (thus the name). Each stage will have different colours/markings, albeit subtle, to show the stages he went through in life.

I don't have any plans for Onni, but I really wanted to get a god in his honour. <3 The real Lucky turned 10 last November. ^^

Basics

Name: Aulani
Meaning: King's Messenger
Gender: Female
Species: Wild Dog
Stage: Adult
Personality: Cheerful and loving, Aulani has the tendency to be a bit hyperactive, always running around. She's very mouth oriented and can almost always be found chewing on something, be it a bone, a stick, or even a rock.

Despite all this, Lani can be very unsure about herself, never feeling as though she belongs. She has a hard time keeping friends - at first, she's outgoing and friendly, but a time goes on, she pushes everyone away, afraid of getting too close. Because of this, she feels awfully alone and wants desperately to find her place and someone that she can count on.

Description

Aulani's fur is mostly black with a white speck on her chest and the tip of her tail. She has a white stripe on her chin and brindle markings on her paws. Her eyes are a deep brown.

Details

Aulani is based off the puppy I had a few years ago. Her story is long and sad, though it has a happy ending. A family friend found a box of ~8 puppies and 3 kittens on the side of the highway. They were very young and infested with fleas, so he took them home. He and his family cleaned them up, brought them back to health, and eventually started looking for homes. They kept two of the dogs. The rest went to other families. Their neighbors/more close family friends took in one of the girl pups.

I went over to see them, promising my mom that I wouldn't ask for one of them (she's well aware that I'm a sucker for a dog needing a home). Brittany, their daughter and a good friend of mine, took me out onto their back porch, where the puppies were.

The promise was broken.

All of them were adorable - there was a little boy with black fur and a white skunk stripe on his head, along with two brindle dogs (a male and female), two black-with-brindle dogs (another male and female), and a few others that have since slipped my memory.

I knew my mom was not going to agree to take in a fourth dog (not to say I didn't try to get her to agree, but it was a half-hearted attempt), so I called my dad to see if he and my then-stepmom would be interested in a puppy. They came over and together we picked one out - the little round female with black fur and brindle paws.

We went home and I started looking up names for her, finally settling upon Aulani - "king's messenger" in Hawaiian.

Over the next year she grew into a medium-small dog with fluffy fur and a mischevious personality. Lani occasionally got to visit her brothers and sister (now named Bear, Rocky and Chewy). She got along with my ex-stepmom's cats and did really well with my brother, who was a baby at the time.

One day, my dad told me that he had been offered a promotion that would require moving back to Denver. I said that it was fine with me. They began searching for apartments and finally picked one - one that only allowed two pets.

Ex-stepmom's cats were older than Aulani, had been in their lives longer, and thus has precedence over the puppy.

After much begging, I finally gave in to the fact that my mom did not want a fourth dog. We finally found her a home with a coworker of my mom's, and I was crushed the day we took her to her new family.

A few months later, they had me dogsit her while they went out of town during Labour Day weekend. That was 2003, and I haven't seen her since. Denisha doesn't work at my mom's company any more and so I have no way to get in touch with her. I hope to God she's still with Denisha and her family, but there's really no way for me to know.

All I know is that Lani is a great dog and deserves to have a stable life - not moving through home after home.

Basics

Name: Sabili
Meaning: Free (Swahili)
Gender: Male
Species: Lion
Stage: Adult
Personality: Sabi is a big lion with a big heart. Though he has a deep, gruff voice, he's kind and gentle. He's always willing to help someone in need, but struggles with his own inner turmoil because of his past. More than anything, he wants to redeem himself, in the eyes of the gods and in the eyes of his son.

Description

Sabi's fur is dark brown and his eyes are a sharp golden yellow. He has a splattering of brown and orange-brown spots on his lower back, along with varying stripes of the same colours on his hip. His tail is banded with the two colours, one thick brown stripe in the middle and two orange-brown stripes on either side. His toes are the orange-brown colour with a band of brown on each ankle. His ears are brown and he has a mask/blaze combo of a similar colour on his muzzle. Three orange-brown spots are lined under each eye.

His mane is dark brown, darker than the base colour of his coat, with streaks of red-brown and orange-brown.

History

For the first year, Sabi had a relatively normal life. As an adolescent, however, he met a lioness of his age named Tukuta. They two became friends and soon fell in love. It was the typical young romance, and while they cared greatly for each other, neither were concerned that much about the future.

When Tukuta told him she was pregnant, however, he panicked. The young male valued his freedom to roam, to wander and see the world. Suddenly there was a burden of responsibility that he wasn't ready for, and, not knowing what else to do, he ran away from his pregnant love, going as far as he could.

Once he stopped running, however, he found that it had not solved his problems. Instead he felt a crushing guilt for leaving his mate and his unborn. No matter how strongly he felt, though, he couldn't bring himself to find Tukuta to apologize. He had made his mistake and had to live with it. Going crazy with agony, he had a fling with a rogue lioness, trying to wash away the pain. It didn't work, of course.

Time went on and as he grew older, he settled into life, although he never forgot about Tukuta. He continued to wander, never staying anywhere for long.

Eventually he realized just how empty and unfullfilling his life was. The guilt had never gone away and so he decided to seek out his former mate and his offspring, knowing that while they would probably never forgive him, he had to at least know that they were doing well.

Details

Sabili is the father of two of my lions: Janikiwiti (Tukuta's son) and Toroka (by the rogue lioness).

Name: Tukuta
Meaning: Restless (Swahili)
Gender: Female
Species: Lion
Stage: Adult
Personality: Tukuta has never been quite 'right' since Sabili left her. She first went into denial, assuring herself that he'd be back, but when the truth hit her she became angry. Though it is been a long time since Sabi left, she is still very bitter at him and at everyone around her, saving her affections only for her son, whom she hasn't seen in years.

Description

Tukuta's fur is pure white and her eyes are bright green.

When Tukuta told him she was pregnant, however, he panicked and left her. She went into denial and convinced herself that he'd be back, but as her cub grew within her, she succumbed to the realization that he was gone. Broken, she went to the Pridelands and joined the pride so that she could give her cub some stability.

As time went on, she got over Sabili's betrayal but had firmly decided that she never wanted to see him again. When Janikiwiti was
