One of my plans to do after I graduate high school is to attend the Musician's Institute in... Hollywood I think? They offer programs for Guitar players, Bass players, Vocalists, Percussion, Recording, Keyboards, Video producing, Guitar crafting... I forgot what else, but man... jsut looking at it makes me want to go there NOW. >.< A few of the teachers from my guitar school attended there and I want to get more indepth with my guitar... the programs I'd do are guitar crafting and GIT... However, I'd need to see what everyone else thinks of it... http://mi.eduIf anyone attended there, tell us about it please!

I've become wary of these "institutes" after seeing the "quality" of some of their graduates.
I personally think it depends on what you plan for your future. Shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket, I'd say. neutral

That sounds like a pretty good plan...but if you don't live in or near California, there's a bit of a problem there.... ... ...so I found a site that has guitar schools or colleges or intitutions (whatever you want to call them) in a whole bunch of places. http://www.guitarschools.com/

Berklee!!!!! Steve Vai went to Berklee, Some Dream Theater members went to Berklee, And they have a great program! Also Yale's Guitar Teacher is Eliot Fisk, a magnificent classical guitar player who was one of Andres Segovia's predessesors!

Its pretty cool place , its weird it just ends up to which you feel might improve your musical ablities .

Haha, I've gone down there (I'm a Californian) and got on their snail mail list, so I get updates regarding their latest success stories of students and teachers and such. They do have some people come out of their with great opportunities. I tried applying at one time a long time ago, but I don't think they would've accepted me, since I don't have every fundamental they need from me, quite down. I don't remember what those were though. Pretty basic stuff if you've been playing guitar for awhile though. I'm sure you can make it; just costs money, 'course. wink
