I don't think they're selfish. Sure, the world is a crappy place especially at the moment but when you lose someone, a friend, mother, sibling or whatever you're not looking at
the world. You're looking at
your own world. One that no longer has them in it. It sounds selfish but to have someone who's always been there taken away from you - of course you're going to mourn. Of course you're going to miss them. I think it's completely understandable. And more so when people die suddenly. You can sit there and think it's sad for the fact that the person will never get to do all the things they wanted but it's even sadder for the people who are left behind. They mourn because part of their life has just died. A part of them.
It's all well and good to say, 'it's okay, they're in heaven now.' Now matter what you believe you can't stop the nagging doubt, you can't help but feel like you'll never see them again.
So, yes. It sounds selfish. But I don't think it is at all.
Quote:
The world is full of pain and suffering, of evils and things so inhumane that I cannot even speak of them without bile rising to my throat.
Isn't death good?
Perhaps you should talk about the millions of people bringing
new life into such a horrible world.
