A world parallel to our own...
Set in world where Alchemy has developed over the science we know, Edward and Alphonse use it to resurrect their mother, an act that is forbidden. Losing Al's body and Edward's arm and leg in the process, they vow to bring their bodies back to what they were, by using the fabled 'Philosophers Stone" (No, not from Harry Potter) Determined to find it, they encounter hardships and meet new friends.
If you hate anime that has to do with love, FMA is your show/manga. There are love interests within the story, but it isn't the driving force. The love and devotion these two brothers share is inspiring and heart warming. They'd do about almost anything for each other, and the end of this tale surely proves that.
This is my absolute favorite anime, but it isn't for children under the age of ten. They have to be really mature and have a higher level thinking mindset, if you ask my opinion.
IT ROCKS! 4laugh

I enjoy the anime as well, although the anime is not as good as the manga.

I have read some of the manga, and I disagree, I like the anime better. The manga is great though, but seeing them move and in action adds that little something to make it better. Not to mention the anime is just gorgeous.

I don't like vampy stuff... the theme is over done. I've heard much about Hellsing and will see if anyone I know owns it. Death Note and Hellsing are very different, and the better one depends on the reader's opinion.

I have watched some of FMA. And, to be frank, I hated it. I don't know why, but something about it made me want to just punch the screen. It irritated me.
But don't be offended. I also wanted to punch Fruits Basket, Chobits, GUNDAM, and Inuyasha.
