The Divine Comedy is a beautiful suite by Robert Smith. We're doing the whole suite in our Spring Concert, and we're getting alumni to come and play with us, simply because we don't have enough people. xd We have the skill, just not the people.
If anyone's played this, or any of the pieces (Inferno, Purgatorio, Ascension, Paradiso) you know that it's pretty hard. It's hardest for French horns/woodwinds, I think. The brass part is hard, but not too bad. It's got great solos, and it is so cool, with all of the effects he puts into it.
What do you think of it?

My band played the Ascension last year. I loved it, but I just wish we could have played the rest. I heard two or three bands during marching season that played the Ascension. I was a bit disappointed though, because I could barely hear the woodwinds.

I played cello for Inferno and Purgatorio. That is some hard music, but a lot of fun to play and even better to listen too.

We did the whole set during my Senior Year for the Fall Concert... We also did one that we played completely in the DARK... The music was HUGE... XD I forget the name of it... but it was fun to play. My Contra-Bass clarinet was so spooky sounding. The audience screamed at one point and it was everything the whole Wind Ensemble could do to keep from cracking up...
