What do you guys think about this?
I think that lady is crazy!
  It's both of their fault.
  It's the child's fault
  I don't care.

I know it's old news to some people, but for those who diddn't hear about it, here's the link.

My opinion about this is why is the lady suspending the child for hugging her? Like 4 year olds don't know any better! Four year olds find hugging as a sign of affection because they are to young to really express themselves. So if some kid hugs you you're gonna suspend em for it? Pfft....

Pfft, people want to sue for the dumbest reasons theese days. *

The only thing I see in this is simply that they have taken the rules of higher levels of school and put them into areas where the children cannot tell the difference. In a way, he should not be suspended if he didn't even know the rules. It's like being sent to jail for killing someone when your whole life no one ever gave any sign at all that it is a crime....kind of a bad example but the point is: You should not punish someone for doing something when they are not aware of the boundaries. We can't just let them try and figure it out on their own. Esspecially in this case when the child looks at the "physical contact" as a sign of affetion and care. Do we get in trouble for giving our friends gifts? No. Plus, how can the school board even THINK of making 4 year-old kids realize on their own the boundaries of the "school". There are so many problems with this case than it seems. The child being suspended is just the tip of the iceberg.

Hmph, if you ask me, I think the school board overdone it. Bad enough my state's school district punished a very young girl for having light pink highlight in her hair, but this?. You want to know what I think about school district decision? I think they need to have their head examine. How on earth did they become school admin in first place? I sure hope that it wasn't through bribery. Beside, we cannot rebuke such a young child this so much, it carry out as a very negative message that end up effecting the child's life, negatively. Hug is very least of teacher's concern if you ask me. If I were to be in any of those school, and repeated every step I did from my original high school, I would have been suspended 10 times, but guess what, the school I go to are very tolerant to acceptable touches, like putting hand on teacher's shoulder with their awareness and appropriately. When I was very very young (and didn't know about inappropriate contact at all), *sigh* I did touch pre-school teacher inappropriately, but one thing I do admire about her is she only punished me by sending me to corner, but didn't make a such a big deal it become district wide issue. We really need to give little child a chance and not rebuke them to point that it'll humiliate them in their high school time.

That is extremely interesting. A 4-year old suspended, for giving someone a hug. I mean seriously why? That is my question. Why? Why would they even think that it is okay to suspend a 4-year old for anything less than bringing a weapon to school.

Because he rubbed his head in her whatchamacallits. Like in Naruto, with Konohamaru and Tsunade...
He probably just thought the aide was nice and hugged her and she was too short. My little sister hangs on to my mom's leg all the time... O_O

/It's just a phase/

eek

That's horrible.

To think that we live in a society where the most innocent behaviors are over analyzed and where little children are under constant scrutiny.

wow thats the dumbest reason to suspend a 4 year old. First of all, its obviouse that he didnt know that it was wrong, or he wouldnt delibratly do it. Come on people, put you time into something more apropriate like stoping the violence in the older kids during school hours.

Four year olds hug everyone. If you expect them not to hug you you should sue yourself for being an idiot.

...Why would you honestly suspend a four year old? They really can't do anything bad. Also, it's not like he knew that touching women there isn't acceptable. It just a little kid's way to show affection....to basically smash their face in your stomach....It's not like he meant to sexually harass her. People these days...I tell you. I'll bet that he will be scarred for life...

[and i'd like to point out that this did happen in Texas, and Texas is known for being a state of "high" education. i should know, cause i live here, in Texas and alot of teachers do take things to the extreme sometimes]

but a 4 year old boy?
come on now.
that's just crazy.
