It felt like an enormous and foreign weight was sleeping on his muscles as he crept through the grass, body held low to the ground to mask his dark physique in nature. However, in his mind, Ai'kunliu felt like it wasn't going to be the best of all things he'd done in the last while.

He'd been raised on that the herd-beasts having bad eyesights. But he wasn't so dumb as to think them all depth-of-shade blind. However, he wasn't about to let that be an excuse as to why he hadn't even tried out this whole 'hunting' bit. No matter how lazy he actually was.

Ai stepped carefully through the grass, making as little noise as was possible, which, having grown up a loud and clumsy boy, was quite an acheivement. In fact, he would've actually labelled this rather stealthy of him to do, pushing the grass aside carefully while he moved through it.

Checking his walking path as he moved, the adolescent took care to not trip or move any rocks, less he be the cause of any unnessecary noise.

This is so frustrating.. why can I just go somewhere and order a dead animal to eat. I don't like doing this. he decided, eyes half-closed from the breeze in his face. Why do I have to have this stuff blowing in my face, anyways?

His adolescence had come with hormones, which made his complanitive. VERY complanitive. He liked bickering with his siblings, he didn't want his mommy at all times of the day, and he simply wanted to be alone for the most part.

And the adopted brats?

They made him not want kids. Ever.

Which again brought him to his reason for hunting. One big animal was going to feed more than him.. and that was the only person he NEEDED to feed.

Rolling his eyes, he watched the herd he'd snuck up onto, eyeing each animal with care. He'd been told to pick his kill carefully, going for the one that looked the oldest or the weakest. They probably tasted the worst, however, and Ai was -so- tempted by the younger and more meaty looking beasts of the herd, his tongue licking over his teeth as he considered them.

Afterall, the younger ones COULDN'T have put up more of a fight then the elder, right?

WRONG.

He was corrected RATHER quickly by the steer of his choice, leaping out into the open upon them. The feeling of being able to run full-speed was great, and Ai enjoyed the feeling of the air rushing past him, chasing a moving target.

And boy did those buggers RUN.

Ai had almost gotten the young male of his choice within paws reach, when it decided it was sick of him, and with a swift kick of one leg, it caught the boy in the jaw, sending him tumbling back, and causing him to get run over by one of the (luckily) smaller and lighter of the herd.

The black male lay there in shock for a while, before sitting up, shaking his head and whining at the pain that stung in his jaw.

He would have tried to run after his prey again, but somehow, he felt they weren't worth it, as they were too far ahead now....

besides, he was tired, his muscles ached, and his jaw REALLY hurt.

He probably wouldn't be in the mood to eat for a while. And so, home he could go, heaving his body up with a sort of a 'dead weight' feeling, scuffling along at his own pace through the grass.

Now his brother would have a good reason to laugh at him.
