Lucius was reading again, but not inside the walls of his parent's house or the HQ, he was sitting on the beach, looking out over the lake from time to time, a light smile on his face.
It was nice out.
He was putting some serious thought into moving in with his sister though, because his father was getting worse and worse as time went on, it had taken all of Lucius' ability to talk his father into letting him out of the house.

On the other side of the lake Kethara was stepping out of the water brushing the water from her hair. She seem to be in a really good mood because of it being a good day.
Fluttering her wings to knock some of the water off them. Laying down on her towel she closes her eyes as she lets the sun warm her skin.

Lucius looked up at the sun and shook his head as it went behind a cloud. He stood and started walking, he'd get more sun on the other side of the lake, and at this rate, he wanted to be warm, and not clouded.
Better reading light too.
He didn't see Kethara until he was almost on top of her, and then he just smiled, and sat down next to her, flipping the page of his book.
"A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse,"

Opening her eyes slowly Kethara smiles before she seat up "Sorry but I don't own any horses. Are you willing to trade that for a fair maiden instead?" chuckling she lays her head back down "So did you like your gift I got you for christmas?" she knew she was taking a chance by getting him one, but she wanted to make sure he knew that she cared.

"Yes, yes I did," Lucius smiled at her. "Thanks, it's sitting on my shelf back home," He chuckled, closing the book and setting it down in the sand next to him. "And I feel kinda bad, cause I didn't get you anything," He said, looking down at the book. "So, how have you been doing Kethara?"

ethara smiles shaking her head "Its alright, you didn't have to get me anything. And better, my ribs are still bruised but not as bad as before." Turning she lays on her back looking up at him "But anyways I'm doing better, been doing alot of thinking actually in my free time." closing her eyes for a moment she looks away from him trying to push those thoughts from her head.

"Oh?" Lucius asked, looking down at her. "Care to share?" He chuckles slightly, not knowing that the thoughts she was having weren't the nicest ones around. But then, he wasn't the most observant either.

Kethara opens her eyes looking up at him before she sits up looking away "I'm gonna leave you alone Luc. Let you move on without having a girl attached to your side. Its the right thing to do, beside who knows you might find a girl you might think is worth everything." her hair hid most of her face as she spoke.
This was the hardest words she had spoken, she was hoping it would make him mad enough that he just left. Thinking was a bad thing in her mind it cause he to see that this was a lost cause. She didn't want to hurt him, but she knew that she was.

It didn't make Lucius mad, what it did was hurt. He knew he'd been stringing her along for the longest time, and he hadn't really intended it, but in the end he had, and now she just wanted out of his life.
Scooting over beside Kethara, he poked her in the side. "So... You just don't want to deal with me anymore?"

Kethara shakes her head before looking at him "Luc I...I just don't want to cause anymore problems in your life. So I'm pulling myself out of the picture. I know your father hates me and I rather not be caught in the middle anymore." looking down she closes her eyes then shakes her head "I just wish I had a sign telling me not to give up, but I've ask for that so many times I'm starting to think its a lost cause." pulling her knees up to her chest she shakes her head before actually pushing off the towel.
Heading back towards the lake she takes a few steps into it until its around her waist. Looking down at the water she sighs "Maybe this is why I was put here, to understand I can't have my way no matter how much I want it."

If she hadn't entered the water, Lucius would have felt better about following her. Biting his lip he stood up and walked to the waters edge, the first few steps were painful, the water did casue his body to short a little bit, sparks arcing off his legs until he was within arms length of Kethara.
"I never said I didn't want you to be in my life, Dad doesn't like anyone... it's just how he is..."

Looking over she gasps shaking her head "Luc you shouldn't be out here, your gonna get hurt." looking away she was trembling as she curse herself. He was getting hurt again because of her "See this is why I shouldn't be anywhere near you. Your getting hurt because of me." placing her hands on his chest she looks up at him her eyes were glistening "Please just go back up on the land and forget about me Luc."

Lucius took her hands and looked at her. Even tho his body was shorting a little and it was very unpleasent, he knew it was alright. It wouldn't kill him, the worst that would happen was he'd end up with a nasty cold.
"I'm not going to do that Kethara, you're my friend and I care about you, so I'm sorry, no, I'm not going anywhere," He said with a nod.
"If you want to try and get out of my life, you're going to have to find one hell of a deep hole to hide in, because I will dig you out if I have to," Lucius smiled and reached a hand up, gently wiping her eyes. "We're friends, but there's more to it than that too, just give it time Kethara... Just give it time."

Kethara shakes her head before she pulls her hand away from Luc stepping back "No were not friends Luc, we can't be friends." looking away from him she closes her eyes as the first tear falls "Please just go, please..." she wanted more then anything for Luc to show her that she had a reason to believe this was worth the wait, but she knew it wouldn't happen.
But she couldn't take it anymore, its why she wanted out now. Before she did something foolish or watch him walk away from her for one thing or another.

Lucius chased her, and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close to him. "No," He tighted his grip on her, and slowly started to walk out of the water so that he could ease the pain.
"Now, let's talk..."
