As a whm/blu, my mp decreases by like 25, but my equipped spells make up for that loss, almost. additionally i can buff my mnd stat pretty well. Just looking for some input becasue i would rather raise my blu than my blm at this point, but some parties have expressed disapproval with this job combo. Lemme know.

/blu perhaps only for assalt and other endgame stuff.

Drowningwaters 1-40: whm/blm 40+:whm/smn /blu perhaps only for assalt and other endgame stuff. i've considered getting smn, but i use 2 play like 2 years ago, and that whole leech hunt was pretty annoying, like 10 + hours to get my ruby, although, back then, everyone was trying to get a ruby, maybe now it won't be. Anyhow, any specific reason, other than the wicked mana boost smn provides?

If you sub Summoner you get these additional Job Traits:
Level - Trait
10 - Max MP Boost
15 - Clear Mind
20 - Resist Slow
25 - Auto Refresh
30 - Clear Mind II
30 - Max MP Boost II
If you farm the leeches in Buburimu(sp?) Peninsula you should be able to find the ruby faster than in Valkrum Dunes or in Qufim Island.
I wouldn't recommend to sub BLU as a WHM for parties since it would mess up the MP pool that most WHMs need to keep the party Hasted, Erased, and all that jazz.
Though from what I've seen I think that WHM/BLU is pretty good for soloing.

I got my ruby after farming for four or five hours with my soon-to-be hubby on FFXI and maybe(still unsure about if she can handle a relationship) boyfriend and my new Summoner teacher(Old Summoner teacher is Siegtaru).(Both blue mages at the time of farming.)

well yesterday evening, a fellow LS member aided me. instead of doing it in buburimu, we did it in shakrami, close to the buburimu entrance. It was pretty successful, it only took 20 leeches or so to get it to drop, so i was way luckier then i was on my past account.

xD you will be surprised smile I sub whm to pld a lot when helping little lsers out (to sneak/invis them around etc) and once in Kazham some newbie /checked me and decided to lecture me on why /war was a better sub for pld (it is worth noting that I was about lvl65 or something at this time xD). Anyway I thought it was quite funny so instead of telling the newbie "omg stfu i iz teh 1337 i iz pld/war roxxxors lol lol" I played along and asked him why he thought that. His first point was that a pld gets more defence by subbing /war than /whm. (That's not the first point I would have thought of tbh but, okay). I did get a great deal of pleasure informing him that this was absolute bollocks. WAR and PLD "Defence Bonus" Traits DO NOT STACK. Furthermore /war does not get any +VIT bonuses (adding 2 VIT would automatically add 1 def) which means that a pld/WAR and a pld/WHM both have exactly the same def and VIT. Newby = Pwnt. And I bet most people didn't know that either lol edit just for the record, i'm not trying to say that /whm is a better sub for pld, please don't flame me sweatdrop

Only time it is ok to sub weird stuff is during solo, ls events, sky, and other stuff. I do rdm/nin and rdm/drk a lot.
