What will show up? Will the baby be noticable?
I'm asking because that's when I'll tell my Mom and Godmother. I'm going to make two copies and mail them to both of them =D

I didn't cry, I'm so weird. xd
It varies bywhat your insurance will cover. Generally, the first trimester scans are the most accurate to gauge your due date. However, just a bit of warning, check to see in the first trimester (6-10 weeks) if you need to have a full bladder (not necessary after first). Also, don't be surprised if you have to get a transvaginal ultrasound the first time. I had to my first time. Might be why I didn't cry, it ruined the moment. xd
My insurance only covered one scan, so it was done 18-21 weeks to rule out abnormalites (also good time to guess the sex of the baby).
Just talk with your OB and they'll let you know what they suggest. I Think it'll be cool that that'll be the way to tell your family! What a sweet way!

I had a bunch because of potential problems because I had miscarried 2 times before. I got one at ..........
6 weeks-little grey spot in a sea of black 14 weeks- (my favorite) very active free space to move around formed head and little pudgy body with tiny arms and legs 21 weeks- looks like a baby, less space so there is less movement (they couldnt determine his sex because of his birth defect) 28 weeks- about the same the facial features are more defined ( found out the sex) 34 weeks- I dont have any pictures because that is when they decided they would induce and I would have him the next day, but he was very well defined it was level 2 so they could ultrasound his bowel while he was in the inside so it wasnt anything major
Just to let you have a general idea of what to expect from each time frame. Goodluck and congratulations. You can also go to pregnancy websits and some have sample ultrasounds for each week to help you get a good idea.

I got two... one at 13 weeks (found out I was pregnant two weeks prior) and one at 22 weeks. It really depends on your insurance as to when and how many they'll do. My best friend is pregnant and she's getting her first at 7 weeks.
The fetal heartbeat didn't make me cry... I laughed. A friend who was about a month further in her pregnancy than me told me that it sounded like a broken washing machine, and so that's all I could think of when I heard it, LOL.
However, the first ultrasound made me cry because this tiny little thing yawned and rolled over... and I think that's when it becomes REALLY real to you that the thing in you is truly a living baby.

It's so ahrd to even belive this that I actually have to remind myself that I am. I'm not showing or having any real bad symptoms because I'm always kinda sick. xP I really can't wait.
