And we know who it was! On June 24th, Ziggy (the comic strip by Tom Wilson) was pictured in his tratitional one panel strip with a toaster. He sat looking at it and it talked to him saying, "I'm afraid I can't let you do that, Dave."
It was hilarious. I scared my brother while he was eating breakfast with my huge laugh because it caught me off guard. I'm trying to find a link so you uys can see it too, but it's kinda hard. Tom Wilson doesn't have an official website.

I've been trying to find it online, but I might end up taking a digital picture of it to put it on. It's on my refridgerator right now, so it cracks me up evertime I go to eat. xd

That is hilarious, but... I'm thinking it's more of a reference to HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey. In fact, it's a direct quote from HAL (if I'm not mistaken). Of course, it does remind me of Lister's toaster as well wink
