Well, usually society is the one whom decides who is normal. However, if you watch people, you begin to notice that they are all strange in there own way.
There is a little something about everyone that makes them not normal. There for if normal is supposed to be what most people are, then being strange is normal, and being normal in societies view then makes you strange.

Everyone has their own definition of what normal is. Normalcy is like beauty: it lies in the eyes of the beholder (and preferably not the kind that can shoot beams from its many eyes burning_eyes .cursed D&D reference razz ) What looks to one person as normal can look like an insane asylum to another person.

Well, if you want to get really specific, every person has his own characteristics that make him not exactly "normal." But looking on a larger scale, there are certain characteristics that the majority of people in a society posess that can be considered "normal" for that society. One who differs too far from this standard can be considered rather "abnormal" to his peers.

Normal is what you think of it to be. It is but an opinion, like beauty, or delicious. That's as simple as I can put it.

Normal? We ourselves can't say. Who is to say what is between the boundaries of normal? Or is there anything 'normal' to begin with. I believe it merely an opinion and shield to those unwilling to accept people are different then themselves.

each person gauges normal as what they act like. if you don't act like someone you aren't normal in thrir eyes. so some people try to act "normal" for their freinds so they forget who they really are.

There is no Normal. Yet there is an average... It's the compiling and divison of people around the world and their ways of life. They are not exactly the same... but they can be very close...

some say normal is when you are like everyone else, though that usually just means that they don't know the REAL you because no one is normal. Preps and rich people look down at evryone else because they describe them as normal, when they really are just differant. plain and simply put: nobody is normal, everyone is differant.

"Normal" is the most common thing in a given population. Like, if you've got three thousand people, and two and a half thousand have brown hair, and the rest are blonde - then brown hair's normal.
It's only when you start trying to take a person as a whole (Made up of a dizzyingly large amount of characteristics) that normal becomes far too difficult to pin down. Not to mention that people don't figure out the statistics of things when deciding what's normal. They take what they (assume) know, and work with that. Which means that no two people will agree on what's normal (especially when you get into s**t like emotions) because it's all subjective. It depends where you stand.
