T u t o r i a l sI think we've all had the odd occasion where someone asked us "How'd you do that? surprised ". It's wicked flattering, but...usually it's hard to find the time to teach someone how to pixel and even harder to know where to start. Hopefully these tutorials can help if you're wanting to get into pixeling :3Derek Yus pixel tutorial - Very simple instructions. I'd disreguard the bit about anti-aliasing though. Almost nobody does it and mostly nobody notices it when it is done. The sections on coloring, dithering, and shading helped me a lot.Pixel freaks isometric tutorial - Short and simple tutorial. Isometric's fun. It's fairly easy to get into too.Rhys Davies The complete guide to isometric pixel art - Boy, he ain't kiddin. This tutorial is awesome. If you have a question about iso and it's not here...I don't know who'll be able to help you x3So you want to be a pixel artist? - It's got some interesting stuff in it, but...it's kinda long-winded and most all of it is for making top down game screens. Handy if you want to mimick your fav video game xD (Would make for an interesting pet. Loads of work though.)Sprite arts tutorials - Just click where it says tutorials and then click on a portrait...the tutorials are almost as awesome as the art itself. Almost! (A must see. The site's amazing.)Pixel breedables - Tips and tricks - Very nice tutorial for people wanting to start a pixel breedables. This should so be pinned. It's a fast read and covers a lot of very important topics. You'll still need to know something about pixeling to use it :3

R e s o u r c e sAll of the sites, programs, and fonts I link to are free. Ya know. For those of us that be's terminally broke. Um. Not that I'd know anything about being broke. I...I'm lookin for work ok?! :OP r o g r a m sThe Gimp - My all time favorite. It's a little complicated at first, but only at first. Once you've got the hang of it, it's the best. I especially like the way they made it so you can animate with it by using layers. It gets you thinking how the whole thing's gonna look and (for me) helps me make the animation smoother.Irfan View - Nice, quick-loading, small program...that saves a wicked clear jpg. If you absolutely insist on saving your pixelwork as a jpg (which is nice for displays as it cuts down on thievery), use irfanview x3Paint.NET - I've not actually used this much, but I've heard it's nice...and it looked nice. I love my Gimp far too much to use it much though. *pets le gimp* It's ok, baby. I won't replace you.F o n t sBitmap mania - Loads of good fonts for your pixeling. Just click the folder with the A in it and select one from the menu ^_^.Pixelfreak fonts - I love these...Silkscreen - One of my favs. It's very easy to read.Pixelsix - This one's fabulous. All three are good.H o s t sPhotobucket - A popular choice. The only thing is, if you work with MSpaint, you'll need to save the file as something other than bmp or else photobucket will change it to a jpg...which will ruin the picture.Imageshack - Fast upload...you don't even have to join to get the full effect. Only thing is, you can't change the file once it's uploaded (very bad for breedables).Tinypic - Nice, short url ^_^. but you can't change the file once it's uploaded, same with Imageshack.1asphost - I've not used it in a while, but it was fabulous. Loads of space and plenty of bandwidth on their freebie package.Graffiti - Nice one. Comes with an email addy too.

D i s c l a i m e r I didn't make any of the sites or resources I link to. I've tried most of them, so I might be able to help you if you have a question, but...I can't guarentee anything and if your computer breaks, fizzes, or tells you you smell like ham...it's not my fault. By clicking any link on this page, you agree that I will not be blamed for any problems you have. None.
C o n t r i b u t e Seen a good tutorial? A nice font (for pixeling)? A nice free host? surprised Tell me about it biggrin I wanna put it up here for everyone ^_^. (Note: I don't wanna put up any programs I've not used though. Sorry. I just wanna be sure they're safe.)
