(This fanfic is a father/daughter story. Its centered upon General Grievous Shikar and his daughter Anglica. It begins prior to his transformation to the droid General you see in the movie. And its as accurate of a background history on him. So please read this and review it. Its been quite awhile since I updated so maybe this will help me get in the mood again.)

Part One: His Demise

Chapter One: Kalee: A fallen Empire

Total chaos raged throughout the city of Algesi. What had once been the most powerful city on all Kalee was now reduced down to just a pile of burning rubles.

On a balcony over looking the burning city two dark figures stood proud, silent and heartbroken. One figure was a small Kaleesh woman that was in her late twenties and held a small infant that was a little over a week old. The other figure was a tall, middle-aged male who stood in a prideful, yet sadden stance, with hate raging in his eyes as he watched the sun set on a burning empire.

He wrapped his arms protectively around his wife and small child and whispered in her ear.

“There is no need to be frightened Mara. Tomorrow there will be a battle like no other and we will be victorious.”

“I’m not afraid Grievous, I am just worried for our children that are out there. I mean what if they don’t return? What if you don’t return?” she said soft-spoken, just above a whisper.

“Do not worry my dear. They are all experienced warriors and have seen many battles. They will return and tomorrow I will return as well. So you do not need to remain concerned.”

“All right. I will stop worrying and base my thoughts on our daughter.”

“Very well my dear I have some thing I must attend to.”

“All right” and she turned around and kissed him.

Afterward Grievous turned and walked out of the room. He headed down the hallway and through some corridors. As he made his way to the meeting room he could not help but think about the past few months.

The situation on Kalee had worsened. The Jedi that had come here after observing the Huk home world and they compared it to the already poverty stricken, struggling Kalee.

To Grievous it was the Jedi’s fault that Kalee was in the state it was in. They had sided with the Huk, and had be littled him. They had attacked Kalee more than once. And his army was about to lose a battle when an army of droids had intervened. He had not been thrilled but he was grateful.

“The Jedi destroyed my home. Who do they think they are? They have no right to just waltz in and take over. I won’t have it. I would rather die than see Kalee fall to those mummu doodoo. They disgust me. They think they’re all that with they’re light swords and force mumbo jumbo crud.” Thought Grievous. He had these spews every now and then. But had been having them recently.

He hated those that were helping them. But he acted appropriately. The two people he was working with were a CIS banker named San Hill, and a stuck-up human count named Dooku. And he was on his way to discuss some things with them.

He came to a door and walked in.

“Ahh… General Grievous Shikar. So glad you could meet us.”

“Get away from me Hill.” Growled Grievous to the banker.

“Ohh come now General. What is the matter?" Came the smooth oily voice of Count Dooku.

“WHATS WRONG? I WILL TELL YOU WHATS WRONG. WHATS WRONG IS THAT THE ARMY HAS BEEN DESTROYED, ALGESI IS BURNING, AND I AM WORRIED ABOUT MY FAMILY.”

“Now, now General. There is no need to get hysterical…”

“Oh yes there is” said Grievous nodding his head with a wild look in his gold eyes.

“Lets just discuss this like civilized beings. Now start from the beginning.” Said Dooku.

“Oh boy.” Said Grievous under his breath and plopped down onto the couch.

“Alright Count. Here is what ails me. The army you provided has been destroyed. My warriors are wounded. The city is a burning pile of ruble. And I am worried about my wife and children. Plus I have a daughter that is just over a week old.”

“Well tomorrow we have all planned out. You leave with the army on your shuttle. Attack the Huks world. Win. Come home. And we shall take care of the rest.” San spoke up.

“What’s the catch?” said Grievous looking up.

At this comment Hill looked to Count Dooku.

“What do you mean by “catch”?” asked Dooku

“Like what you just said Hill. It seems just too good for there to not be something connected. Is there some thing you want in return?”

“I don’t thi…” started Hill

“Actually General. There is something you could do for us. But you don’t have to. There will be a battle tomorrow and we shall win. I assure you.” Said Dooku in an attempted reassurance.

“Figures. What is it?”

“I want you to be a separatist commander. You would have command over an army.”

“Droid army.” Corrected San.

“Would I be able to see my family?”

“Of course General.”

“Would I be able to come home?”

“Of course General.”

“I’m not sure. I mean this is my home and I have never left for a number of years. I am not sure what I would do.” Replied Grievous.

“I assure you General that you could see your family.” Said San. “Why I could even have it arranged.”

“Why do you want me to be a commander Count?”

“You are a natural military strategic thinker. You think strategically, logically, and you do it all the way through.”

“Count Dooku with all due respect. I am grateful of the offer… but…”

“But?” put in Dooku

“But I can’t leave my family…my life… or my home. I am sorry but I a must decline.”

“Very well.” Huffed Hill.

“Pity General. You would have done well. But you have your family… and I of all people understand how important family is.” Said Dooku relating.

“Thank you Count.”

Grievous said farewell and walked out the door. But once he was gone San Hill turned to Dooku. Who was deep in thought.

“What are we going to do Count?” he wined.

“We are going to kill his family, and sabotage his shuttle after the battle on his return home.”

“Count you can’t be serious.”

“Drastic situations call for drastic measures my good banker.”

“But kill his family?”

“It is necessary.”

And he walked out of the room and leaving a bewildered San Hill to himself. To Dooku, everything had gone as planned. Sabotaging the shuttle and destroying his family and home could be easily blamed on the Jedi. And what better way to fuel that hate…

Chapter two: Family

When Grievous got back to his room there was a note from Mara. It said:

My dear, I am in the assembly room with the children.

They have had their wounds tended too.

They have all returned.

But I put the little one in her room.

Could you bring her with you?

Thank you,

Mara.

“Okay.”

And he walked to the nursery.

Now the palace had little to no damage imbedded into it. So all the passages were clear.

When he got to the nursery the baby was cooing to the little mobile above her crib. Grievous walked up to the crib and looked at his little girl. She was beautiful. She had dark brown eyes and her head was full of black feathery curls. Her mocha skin was like silk. He loved this little angel so much. She was his only daughter. She had twelve older brothers who were the best warriors.

“You shall never be a warrior my little princess.” He said cradling her in his arms. She grinned and cooed at her father. Her eyes shining brightly.

When he got to the assembly room everyone was there. Mara in the middle of the boys, who had gotten themselves cleaned up. Mara came up to him, her eyes glowing and looking at the sleeping babe in his arms.

“She can stay put.” He assured her.

“All right.”

He sat down on a couch and was filled in on all the days’ happenings. Afterwards they had a small evening meal. He sent everyone to there quarters, including Mara. He wanted to put his daughter to sleep and then he would be along. He laid her in her crib and kissed her good night. She fell asleep immediately after his lips left her cheek. He made his way to the door, blowing out the lamps on his way out, and looked over his shoulder to look at the sleeping little angel. Then he was gone, headed towards his room. That night he had a hard time sleeping. He knew that tomorrow life would not be the same. But he hoped it for Kalee’s best.

Chapter Three: Angelica

The next day when Grievous was preparing to leave he was walking by the Nursery. He looked inside and saw Mara holding their little girl. He went and stood with her on the balcony. (Same balcony they were on in first chapter.)

“We need to think of a name for her.” Spoke Mara.

“Indeed we do.” He said while wrapping the two in his arms.

“I like Rose.”

“I was thinking Angel. Sher ino could be her middle name.” He suggested

“That would work. What about Angelica instead of Angel? Angel could be her nick-name.”

Grievous thought this over. “Angelica Sheri no Shikar… Angel Sheri no Shikar. Both work…but Angelica seems very elegant… and I like elegant.”

“All right. Angelica Sheri no Shikar it is.”

“Ohhh. Grievous that’s beautiful. It’s got a little of both of us in it.”

“Yes it does, Mara Ki ya Shikar.”

“I love you General Grievous Taro Shikar.” Mara glanced up at her husband who was beaming with pride and joy.

He let his wife go, turned her around, and kissed her warmly on the lips. They held this kiss for a while until little Angelica started to cry.

“Uh-Oh. Some ones tired.” Said Mara lifting her into the air, making her squeal in delight.

“I better get to my shuttle. Bye honey.”

“WAIT!” said Mara suddenly.

“What is it my dear?”

“I wanted to give you this. So that I’m with you on the field.” She said sweetly.

Mara held out silver chain with an aqua stone hanging from it. Grievous took it in his hand and held it as if it would break.

“Why are you giving me this?” He said in a bewildered tone.

“Because when you return you may inturn return it.”

“Then keep this safe till I return.”

And he handed her a dagger. Mara took it and caressed the handle. When she looked up she was once again wrapped in her husbands strong and loving embrace and him kissing like their very first kiss.

“Farewell my love.” She whispered to him.

They gave each other a peck on the lips.

“I shall wait in the garden till your return.”

“Farewell my dear. I love you.”

And he walked out the door.

Chapter Four: Farewell Forever My Love

10days later

Huk homeworld

“Captain report.” Huffed the tired General.

The Kaleesh had succeeded in the battle that had raged on for ten days. Now his men and the remaining CIS’s army were securing the planet.

“Khan and his men have secured the Huks main city. Glashen and his men have secured the remaining nearby villages and towns Sir.” Said a droid in monotone.

“This is good news. Very good news. Thank you Captain.” General Grievous said in a pleased tone.

The droid turned and walked away. Grievous turned to look down upon a burning Huk village. He and his army had not let any live until the leader had come with negotiations. And then the Huk leader just insulted him and Grievous had given good and decent terms. But like all Huks the leader just snubbed him. Grievous killed him and the whole embassy. And Grievous was the one that came out victorious.

And now he turned to his best friend and second in command.

“Tayo my dear friend,” he said smiling. “It is good to know that peaceful times have finally come to Kalee. I shall be leaving soon with my sons and return back to my home to give my wife the good news. So until I return you are in charge of the army. And I know I can trust you to do what is needed.”

“Yes Sir you can trust me. And I am very glad for you Grievous. I heard from Jeddah that Mara and you have your little girl. Congratulations.” Tayo said giving a brotherly slap to Grievous’ back and Grievous returned the gesture.

They said farewell and Grievous turned and walked down the hill and made his way to his sons, which were waiting by the Old Kaleesh Shuttle. They climbed on board and started the engines and they were off.

2hours later

Garden

Back on Kalee Mara was out in the palace garden with little Angelica and was attempting to win her own personal battle with the weeds and debris that had accumulated in the few month time of the heat of the Kaleesh and Huk war.

She was glad to be out side again with the sun shinning brightly, and her getting down and dirty like she used to before she married her amazing husband.

Angelica was sitting by a pond playing with a stick and splashing water everywhere. Mara watched as a butterfly fluttered around Angelica’s head and then proceeded to land on the child’s nose. Angelica squealed in delight, which startled the butterfly and it flew away. Angelica gurgled and smiled. She looked so adorable.

Mara turned and started to work on a new flowerbed. She picked up her hand rake and got to work excavating the weeds.

2hours later

¼ back to Kalee

Shuttle/space

“General, we have exited the atmosphere. We are home free.” Came the pilots voice from the cockpit.

“I can’t wait to see Mara and Angelica. My darling wife and daughter. The only females for me. No more…no less. And then my sons. Twelve wonderful blessings. I don’t think life would be worth living without them. I love them so…”

“GENERAL…THE STARBORED ENGINE HAS BLOWN OUT. WHAT DO WE DO SIR!” came the frantic voice of the pilot.

Grievous jumped up and out of his seat and thoughts. He stood there for a moment just staring at nothing, as did his sons, but he soon snapped out of it.

“Level us out Pilot.” Shouted Grievous. “And reduce speed.”

He then turned to his sons.

“I am going up to the cockpit. I want six of you on starboard and six on port. Understood?”

“YES SIR.” Said the twelve in unison.

Grievous plopped down into the co-pilots seat.

“Level us out captain.”

“Yes Sir.”

“Take us down one hundred knots.”

“Yes Sir.”

The shuttle leveled out and slowed down just slightly. Grievous sighed a deep sigh of relief.

“I just hope that works.”

4hours later

Balcony/nursery

The sunset on Kalee was a beautiful sight to behold.

“Look Angelica. It’s a suuun…seeet.” Said Mara hoping that her child would understand.

Mara stood on the nursery balcony with Angelica in her arms. She had come in from the garden around five ‘o’ clock and had gotten herself and Angelica cleaned up and fed. And now they were enjoying a beautiful Kaleesh sunset. Waiting for a call or appearance from their loved ones.

“Okay it’s time for beddie-bi little one.”

Mara turned from the balcony as the last rays of sunlight vanished from sight and revealed a blanket of indigo and silver. (Indigo being the sky and silver being the stars.)

She laid Angelica gently into her sea of blankets. Angelica liked smooth fabrics and could not go to sleep without being surrounded by them.

“It’s time for my little Angel to fly away to dream land.” Said Mara kissing the child on the fore head.

Mara headed for her bedroom. On her way she thought about her husbands safety and realised that once again she would be sleeping alone.

She got herself ready for bed and sat down on her couch by the window and looked out. Thinking about nothing in particular. Just old memories, future plans, and present events. She remembered the time when Grievous proposed to her.

It was just after he interred manhood in the eyes of the tribe. He asked her father permission. And her father was celebrating that his only child was to marry such a fine young man. Though he was getting ahead of himself, he knew that she would say yes. For she and her father had discussed whom she would like to marry. Because her father did not like the idea of him telling the young man that he could ask and then having his daughter refuse him. He said that he had been refused to many times by women who he thought he loved. But then he met mama and everything fell into place.

She remembered her wedding day. She remembered all her children’s birth dates.

But as Mara sat there staring out the window she noticed there was smoke rising from the house…

½ back to Kalee

Shuttle/space

“General I am having a hard time controlling the shuttle should I switch it to autopilot? ” asked the nervous shuttle pilot.

“Yes captain switch the shuttle to autopilot.”

Grievous was sweating horribly. His tunic was soaked and his muscles were all tensed up. He hated flying. And he hated it even worse in this situation.

“Dear Ancestors

I will never fly again, never leave my wife and children again, I shall never fight again, if you just let us live.”

He prayed to his families’ ancestors as probably as every one on board. He just wanted to see Mara and little Angelica again. He would do anything.

“The Republic scum must have sabotaged this shuttle. Oh how I hate those Jedi scum. They better not kill me. Otherwise…Otherwise…”

“General the ship is gaining speed.”

“WHAT DID YOU DO?” snapped Grievous who was clenching and unclenching his hands.

“No…No… Nothing Sir. I just looked at the gauge and it went up five hundred more knots.”

“That’s not good.”

They were getting close to Kalee. And fast. And if they did not slow down about six hundred knots they were going to enter the atmosphere flaming and then crash into the planet. And that would be the end of them.

A/N: Dear reader

From here on end things are going to speed up. The separate views of this are all happening at the same time.

“SMOKE! Why in the Ancestors name is there smoke coming off of this house? ”

Thought Mara frantically.

“In answer to you question my dear. The house is on fire. And your end is near.”

Mara jumped off the couch and spun around to see Dooku standing in the doorway. Light saber in hand. Ignited. And he had a dark, pocessed look in his eyes. (They look like a Sith’s eye. Red and yellow.)

“Wh… Wh… What do you want?”

“Your Life.”

And Dooku charged…

Kalee’s atmosphere

“Sir the “G’s” are to much. I have lost all control of the shuttle…” the pilot would have continued but the shuttle must have gone through a turbulence and it had shaken the shuttle so violently that the pilots head was bashed into the control stick.

And he did not move. Blood had spattered all over the cockpit and Grievous. And Grievous just wanted to empty his stomach contents.

Grievous was completely and totally frightened. He knew that he and his sons were going to die. But that was not what frightened him. What frightened him was that he knew his end was near and all he could think about was his life. His family, wife, sons, and most of all, his brand new daughter.

And it was not going to be a warrior’s death. He was going to die in a freak shuttle crash. At his enemies hands.

The shuttle shook violently again and then there was a horrible groaning sound. Then a metallic “RIIIIP!” and the cries of his sons.

At that moment Grievous’ heart caved in and the shuttle went up in flames.

Palace

Mara ran for her life. She dodged one of Dooku’s blows, but was then struck in the back of her leg. Searing away the skin and tendon.

She cried out in pain and crumbled to the floor. She looked up towards the door and flames were licking at the gap between the floor and door.

Dooku chuckled.

“What a pathetic creature. For such greatness and strength your species has my dear. I have just found its weakness. Women.” He said this in a cruel and horrible voice.

He walked around to where her head lay. And lifted her body, using the Force, so that she was suspended in the air with her legs sprawled beneath her.

“It’s a pity that your husband is not here. Isn’t it? Though this is his fault really.”

“Why?” Mara gasped in pain.

“He refused to work for me.”

“Good” said Mara being blunt.

But her bluntness made Dooku’s eyes burn. And he squeezed his hand.

Mara could feel a cold grip form around her throat and it blocked her from breathing. She frantically clawed at her throat. Cutting and scraping it with her claws, all the while with Dooku just looking at her with this blank look.

Mara finally blacked out. But Dooku did not know this and released her. She crumbled to the floor. Arms cracking and breaking.

Dooku turned to the window and jumped out.

Mara lay there unconscious and Angelica was screaming at the top of her little lungs.

Kalee

The shuttle was just a piece of falling, burning debris. Grievous was screaming in pain as the flames burnt away at his flesh. He was tossed and jerked around gaining cuts and his legs breaking along with his arms. He looked out the window and past the flames to see that he was headed straight for Kalee’s largest most dangerous river.

WWWWHHHHAAAAAMMMMM…BAAAAANG… CRASH!

The impact was so strong that Grievous banged his head into the flaming headboard were it stayed…

(If you thought the last one was sad read this. I balled the whole time)

Chapter Five: Lives Begin Anew

Kalee

Palace garden

25 year-old Raven Rune walked through a star lit night. She was following some essence that was screaming for help. It seemed to her as if the Force itself was asking for aid. She felt a disturbance in the Force as well. And then there was a warm feeling. Like when a child is found that is Force sensitive. But there was a ripple, hardly there, but there nonetheless. This child was in pain. Mentally and physically. And was afraid.

Raven picked up speed. She was now jogging. There was the smell of smoke in the air. She was running at top speed. There was a frightening cry. She was at a wall and there was a window. She saw a shadow cross the window. She backed into a bush were she could get a good view of it.

Crash sight

Pain. Horrible pain.

That is what Grievous felt in his unconscious state.

Pain. Sadness. Hate. Anger. Failure.

These were the words that echoed to him as he lay there burning.

Dying.

Death. Rest. Forever. Peace

Palace Window

She felt the Dark side of the Force. But that was not what had summoned her. It was the child. She must find the child.

Suddenly there was a thud and a boom. Raven looked to the window and the shadow that she had only caught a glimpse of was standing there looking out. The shadow was a man, in his middle ages, graying brown hair, and his eyes were red with yellow veins.

Raven gasped. The man was a Sith.

“That must have been the disturbance that I felt. ” She thought.

Raven heard a hum in the distance and it became louder. Soon there was a speeder/bike (what he rides in E2) resting against the wall. The man climbed onto the bike and sped off into the night.

Though Raven did not know he was on his way to visit another death site.

Crash site

Grievous came to and when he did all he could feel was pain. His life hung by a thread. A single, fragile thread. And he just wanted to get this through with. He wanted to rest in peace. He was slowly, yet surely sinking. He was gasping for breath. His lungs burned. His head was the only thing above the water. And the next second he was under.

Suddenly he felt cold hands drag him out of the water. He gasped for oxygen and he tried to get away from the grip. But he found he could not feel his body at all. He was placed on a medical carrier. And not gently either.

Grievous slowly opened his eyes.

“W…W…What happened? Where am I? What are you going to do to me?”

“Give you a new life General.” came the cold voice of Count Dooku.

"And may this be a lesson to you. Because by refusing my offer you signed your families’ death sentence. As well as yours. But there is of course a way that I could provide, with your agreement, that you could cheat death. What do you say General? Do you wish to die? Or do you wish to live and pay of your debt?"

"H...H...how would I pay of...o...off my debt?"

"Same terms as before."

"H...H...how could I cheat d...d...death?"

"You would be given a new body."

Suddenly Grievous started rasping and coughing. His lungs burned and the salt in the water had done them no justice.

As he coughed Count Dooku could decern only one word.

"Agreed"

And Grievous collapsed back into his unconscious state.

Palace Window

Ravens POV

Revan was becoming bolder by the minute. She could see the flames becoming more powerful. And the child's essence in the force was becoming stronger. The cry for help louder. And Revan knew that there was some one in that room. Dying.

Without another moments hesitation she force jumped up to the open window. Raven shielded her eyes from the smoke with her hand. She stepped off the sill and she saw a small fragile figure lying on the floor.

Raven walked up to the figure.

"A kaleesh!" Raven said in a whisper.

"And she is unconscious."

Raven stooped down and put her index and middle finger on her neck. The was a slow weak pulse, but a pulse nonetheless.

Raven sighed in relief as she stood up and bent down to pick the woman up. But just as Raven slipped her hands behind the woman's back, the kaleesh opened her eyes wide and grabbed Ravens throat.

"Who are you? And what do you want?" growled the woman.

"I'm Raven Rune. Jedi padawan. And no threat what so ever." gasped Raven.

The woman's countenace changed from her fierce scowl to the look of sure pain. She released Raven's throat and collapsed to the floor.

Raven was gasping for air when the woman looked at the young padawan.

Mara's POV

Fear consumed Mara as she laid there staring at the young girl before her. Fear was why she had grabbed her throat. Thinking it was that demond trying to finish the job.

There was a cry from the other room. Mara could feel (through mother intuision) that the flames were devoring the nursery. Mara cryed out in pain. Which made the girl jump.

Mara knew she was dying. And she knew that this padawan could save Angelica. So she spoke.

"Jedi..."

Raven's attention was on her. Listening intently.

"My daughter is in the room next door." said Mara in a long drawn out breath

"Please save her. I beg you." Mara was crying tears of pain and saddness.

"Okay" said Raven in a voice full of concern.

"Whats the child's name."

"Angelica Rose Shikar. I am Mara..."

Raven could hear the child's cry. She began to get up but Mara grabbed her arm.

"Give these to her when she is older. She must know who her family is."

"I will allow her to come back. She shall be a true kaleesh. I promise."

"Thank you."

And Mara closed her eyes, breathed her last breath. Never to awake, never to breath, never to see or feel ever agian.

Ravens POV

Raven put the items in her pocket and stood up. There resounded an explosion that shook the ground.

A loud cry came from the next room.

Raven ran to the burning door and force pushed it down. The flames licked her face and body. Raven cried out in pain, but she had to save the child. She forgot about her pain and strained in the force to locate the child.

It was twenty feet away and luckely there was no fallen debris in Ravens path. She ran up to the cradle, wrapped the child in some cloth and made her way to a balcony. Raven landed just as the entire roof collapsed. Raven looked back to see the pile of burning debris.

Tears streaked Ravens face. Not just because the smoke had caused it, but because of the kaleesh woman. Mara was her name. And Mara was this child's mother. Raven pulled the cloths away from the child she held in her arms.

It was a little girl.

"What was it that your mother said your name was little one?"

Raven stood there thinking, with a puzzeled look on her face. As she looked at the baby girl she notice a burn right under her chin. The burn looked oddly like angel wings.

"Angelica! That's what your Mother said your name was. Angelica Rose Shikar!"

Angelica just looked at Raven with a sad look in her brown eyes. Tears were falling down her little cheeks and Raven felt a slight push on her heart and mind. It was the force, she could feel it.

Raven reached out to the child through the force. In a way she was streching out her hand to the child. And suddenly a small "hand" in the force reached out and grabbed Raven's "hand".

"Your...Your Force sensitive. I must take you to Master Yoda imediatly."

Geonosis

Geonosian scientists and doctors swarm around the broken body of General Grievous Shikar. They must move quickly for he is dying. They remove his organs (still intact) and put them in a synthetic gutsack. They put his brains and eyes in a metal skull.

They have completed one of their greatest achivements. They have turned this kind and loving man into an aggressive killing machine. Shikar is now only 5 organic and 95 cybernetic.

The Geonosian exit the room. Leaving Grievous unconscious and alone.

Soon afterwards his eyes open.

"I can't feel any thing. Why do I feel so different? I can't rember any thing. Why? What has happened to me?"

Grievous sits up and lifts his hand to his face. It is difficult but he lifts it nonetheless. But he does not see his four fingered, ivory clawed hand. No... he see's a metalic, six fingered, cybernetic hand.

Grievous stands up but falls right back down onto the table, leaving a big dent.

"Why am I so heavy?"

He gets up agian, this time steading himself. He slowly walks to the wall. (the wall is like a mirror.) What he sees frightens him.

Instead of his young and youthful organic self (kaleesh live 200 years), there stood a droid like thing.

Courscant

Jedi Temple

Raven walked up the set of stairs to the Jedi Temple. She entered the huge double doors and made her way to Master Yoda's personal quarters. She came up to the door and pressed the intercom button.

"Yes" came the voice of the very wise Master Yoda

"Master Yoda. It's Jedi padawan Raven Rune. I found a child that I think you should meet." said Raven in a shakey tone.

"Very well. Enter you may."

The door slid open and Raven walked in with little Angelica wrapped in her arms. The room was not extravecant, but it was not bare either. On one side of the room a small low bed sat off in the corner. A door was a few feet past that most likely led to the bathroom. There was a medium sized window on the other side of the room with eleven medium sized automens. And in the middle were two of the same automens, and on one of them sat the wizend old Master Yoda.

"Young Raven Rune. Seen you I have not for many months. Why?"

"My Master and I were sent to the Huk star system to negotiate. But as you have heard Master, things have not gone so well." Raven said this in a sad voice.

"Your Master, young one. Died with honor...she did."

"Yes Master. I believe you."

"Now sit you must. Believe I do... that some thing to show me you have."

"Yes Master I do." and she sat down

"It's a young kaleesh girl." said Raven unwrapping Angelica so that Yoda could see her clearly.

"Her name is Angelica Sheri no Shikar. Her mother's name was Mara. She died. I do not know who her father was or if he is still alive, but her mother gave me these."

And she handed him the objects which Mara had given her a few nights ago. Master Yoda looked at each object inturn closely. The first he inspected was a kaleesh dagger. The handle was a long dark wood with leather and some kind of metal wrapped in a spiral. The leather stopped where the blade began, but the metal kept going up the blade. It was a darker metal than that of the blade, and you could see the intricate designs it played into it. Swirly Q's, Kaleesh ruines, and it even had an inscription; Warrior's strength...Angels heart...Lords wisdom. The blade itself was one edged, and curved towards the top. (half the size and the shape of Arwens sword Handafang.)

"Intersesting this weapon is. The Kaleesh... quite artistic they are." Master Yoda said as he put the weapon down and picked up the smaller object.

This object was not like the dagger he had just inspected. No this object was sphereical. About the size to a tennis ball and made of a metal that looked and felt like chrome. And there was a blue crystal like stone for a button.

“Hmm… holo-transmiter this is. Family perhaps. But none of our business it is.”

Yoda looked up from the objects to look Raven straight in the eyes. Raven looked back. After awhile he sighed and lowered his gaze and finally spoke, just above a whisper.

“Yes… this child… raised in the Temple she shall. But when the time comes a master for her must be found.”

“I will train her. I…I promised her mother that I would and that I would be there for the child as she grew up…”

“Yes Raven. Understand I do. But young you still are. Master you do not have. And need one you do. And until one is found… to Ilum go you must.”

“I understand Master.” Said Raven lowering her head.

Truth was she was still a padawan and she needed a master. But at this age a padawan would begin ones trials. But she would not. But an idea came to her.

“Master Yoda?”

“Yes?”

She took a deep breath.

“Could you… I mean… Ohh…” this was more difficult than she thought.

“Be your Master… you want me to be? Hmm? Bad idea that is not. Accept that responsibility I do.”

Raven grinned from ear to ear. She got up from her seat, bowed in respect and left. And she took Angelica to were she would be cared for properly. And grow up to be come a fine young girl. And when she was ready she would become Ravens padawan and then a Jedi Knight.

“I promise that you will know your kind. And I promise to take very good care of you.” Raven spoke to the child so softly that when she reached the “nursery” Angelica was fast asleep.

Geonosis

“WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO ME!”

Grievous threw any thing and every thing in that room that he could get off the floor and walls. Then he stopped, looked at himself in the dented wall, screamed once again and the whole storm started again. And this time his fist and feet were involved.

All the while oblivious to the figures looking through the transpara-steel wall.

Finally Grievous tripped over an object and fell face down on the floor and he did not get up. Not because he didn’t have the strength, but because he just did not want to.

But after awhile he let out a horrible, metalic, bloodcurdling scream.

And it resounded in the Force…

Jedi Temple

Raven stood out on one of the nursery’s balconies holding Angelica in her arms. The wind was blowing and the temperature was cool. Raven stood there meditating in that peaceful environment when in her actual meditation it was anything but peaceful.

Pain. Great Pain. Anger. Rage. Hate.

She felt these things as she searched for the source. But she finally gave up. But as Raven stood there with Angelica in her arms, she could hear a cry resound through out the Force and her body.

“Hard times lay ahead for the Republic.” Stated Raven blankly as she and Angelica watched the sun set on another day.

Neither one of them knowing just what lay around the next bend in the road of the adventure known as LIFE…
