Nogea. Rahima. Which one to find first, and how?

On a small outcropping of rock, eyes closed against the sun, Ewansiha lay basking in the midday warmth. He'd missed these wild, unclaimed spaces where rogues roamed. He'd been away so long, Ewan didn't have a clue where to find his family. Nor his friends for that matter.

Optimistic, he fell into daydreams of a successfull search. On this rock, he was in full view for a good distance with his white fur and red mane. The wind too, was whistling through the grasslands, hopefully taking something of him with it. Ewan let himself hope someone'd find him.

Tia yawned. It felt good to get away from the cubs for a while, even to leave the borders of the Pridelands, just for an afternoon, and be alone. Verdad was a sweet little thing, but her constant energy was tiring, and Aden was just not very fun to be around at all. She felt bad thinking thoughts like that about her own children, but she couldn't help it. Hopefully a bit of a break would do her good.

She padded slowly along, eyes lidding themselves slightly in the warm sun. It was a nice day for a rest.

Her ears perked as a scent wafted by on the wind. Another lion. She lifted her head and squinted, catching sight of Ewan's bright fur, a dot of white and red on the otherwise gold-brown landscape. Shrugging her shoulders lazily, she continued on. She wouldn't let another lion ruin her day out.

Lazily opening his eyes to look around him briefly, Ewan had to smile. Poor Tia was far enough away that all he could make out, especially under the suns glare, was a reddish lionness. When he'd been younger, Rahima and his brother had been the only red lions he'd known of, and he'd never seen others since.

He thought the gods had decided to purr for him this day.

It didn't take long for him to get up, stretch and start towards the lionness. He realised too late that this was indeed a mother, but not his. Ewan was disappointed, and stopped in his tracks not too far away from her.

Oh. Not her.

Tia slowed as the larger lion started towards her. She narrowed her eyes in the sun and waited, tail lashing behind her. What did he want?

But then he stopped. She waited a few seconds, then started forward again, slowly.

"Something the matter?" the crimson lioness asked, arching an eyebrow as she approached him.

Ewan sighed and looked down at his paws a moment. He'd been all eagerness and engry, like a cub again rushing to see his mother, for a few moments there.

"...I'm very sorry for charging up to you like this. I thought you were someone else." He offered an apologetic smile.

Tia looked surprised. She'd never been mistaken for anyone else before; her coloration and markings were quite unusual. Still, she supposed it would be possible to just see the red, from that distance...

"I see," she replied, dipping her head slightly. She returned the smile, somewhat awkwardly. How long had it been since she'd had a conversation with a lion her own age?

"It's quite alright, I was only wandering." the lioness replied, tailtip flicking.

Ewan cursed inwardly. His eyes had to be getting worse. Upclose, it was clearly not his mother. Hell, this pretty thing must be half her age. More around his own.

"Wandering. Are you one of the rogues who live in this area?" He asked, trying to be friendly.

Tia quirked a brow, seating herself and letting her tail drape over her forepaws. This lion was a bit odd, wasn't he? Still, it wasn't as if she was the posterchild of normal.

"No, actually. I live in the Pridelands." she replied, casting a quick glance over her shoulder in the drection she'd come from. "I'm just taking a bit of a...day off. From my family." She explained.

"Ah. I know those lands, a few of my friends live there." He sat down as well, since it seemed the conversation would continue. Ewan knew, to a certain extent, he wasn't acting like himself. The last time he'd spoken to someone....he'd been...oh. Not even a full adolescent. It had been far too long.

"Atleast I did. I haven't seen another lion in months."

Tia tilted her head. Hadn't spoken to another lion in months?

"Really? Why?" She inquired curiously, shifting her weight slightly so she could see him better. That was an odd thing to do, go for months without speaking to anyone. She couldn't imagine it, herself.

"I just didn't meet anyone. I went travelling and it seemed like I was the first lion ever to step paw in that place - which can't be true, but it's deserted now. " Ewan shrugged softly. He was a flirt by nature, she was lucky his old self wasn't ready to reappear. He was abit shellshocked and dozy, really.

"Think it's made me act a little weirdly, to be honest."

"Well, understandably!" Tia said, still looking mildly surprised. "Going that long without talking to anyone, I'm surprised you're not utterly insane."

She paused, squinting at him as if to make sure he WASN'T utterly insane, and then shrugged.

"So what made you re-enter civilization? Looking for someone?" she asked. He had after all seemed excited to see her, when he thought she was someone else.

"My friends and family. My mother and my twin - non identical. I've missed them." His red tail tip twitched, one of the only parts of him that were this glorious colour. Oh he had to find them... But now was teh timje to pull himself together, since, someone else was here.

"And your family? I'd say you were a mother, no offence."

Tia nodded. That made sense, of course; if she had been away for that long she would miss her family too, however annoying they might be at times.

She looked fairly shocked, though, when he guessed that she had cubs. "How did you guess?" she asked, hazarding a glance down at her body. It had gone back to being fairly lean and muscled since her cubs had grown and she had started hunting more.

"Yes, I am. I have two horrors back at the den," she admitted with a sheepish grin. Was it so obvious?

"I have a nose and the nose knows." The soft scent of a den - milk, youngsters and so on - told Ewan she was a mother. He smiled. He'd be careful not to flirt with this one, should they meet again when he felt more like himself.

"I bet they're lovely. Probably a handful, but most cubs manage to be cute anyway, I've noticed."
