In Other Words... This is a total round up and a Rating for Monster Hunter Freedom.

Monster Hunter Freedom, the Upgrade from Monster Hunter, from the PS2 straight into your hands on the PSP.

Rating: 9/10 *As apposed to X Play, who gave it a 3/5 because of CAMERA ANGLES.*

This game is near next to flawless. But the downfall that makes it to where I can't give it 10/10 is Online play.

Monster Hunter allowed you to play with friends across the world, Freedoms downfall is the Online compatibility is limited to Offline friend play.

New Armor, Several New Enemies, and a lot of new things to do to make your Hunting experiences fun for every minute of game play.

Unlike Monster Hunter, after completing the Yian Kut-Ku fight, you unlock a 'Training School' to the right of the village, where you can re-fight Wyverns *and Dragon, Lao* with a preset armor & weapon, all the carves & gather points in the area are changed to items, which allows you to show off your true Hunting abilities in a Survival fight. You are rewarded with items new to Freedom, which enable you to obtain new armor and weapons never before seen to Monster Hunter!

Another area added to the world of Freedom is the Farm.

Yes, a Farm. You start out with the basic areas, a Bug Patch, Mining Point, a Dock, and an area to plant seeds & herbs. Aside from using what is in your own pocket to purchase upgrades for the farm, a new point system is made so you obtain a % for both selling and buying items, you gain more points for selling than buying.
Through time, you will be able to upgrade and add in a Bee Hive to obtain honey, and even a Mushroom tree. There are also Max Upgrades, a Bombing Mine (kamikaze kitty.), a Net launcher, and a Hammer Tree.

The Farm is ultamitly a great idea that Capcom decided to add in, and will definetally be a must keep come future Monster Hunter titles.

The Guild is also a new area, and a major part of the Freedom game. This is what enables you to fight with others *on different PSP's, but not across the world through Infrastructure.*
Every/Any fight earns you Guild Points, but to be honest, unknown to what they do, except unlock Titles you put onto the new 'Guild Card' that keeps track of all the monsters you kill and places icons to show accomplishments such as Finishing Elder Ranks and killing the Kirin, or finally completing some Farm Upgrades.

The Guild missions, which are meant for a Hunter and a friend at minimum, are soloable, the missions are different from Elder Quests, as the monsters have a higher defense, and more health. AND drop higher quality items.

Monster Hunter Freedom is a big jump from Capcom, and hopefully we'll be seeing Monster Hunter 2 soon, as the thought of new weapons, and Katanas getting their own class. Orgasmic.

Freedom is a definite MUST buy.

I can't remember what Zone 9 in the forest and hills was like on PS2 but on Freedom it was impossible. For MHF2, however, they fixed the angles. Other than that, I didn't see anything wrong with the first one.

i may buy it for the ps3 cuz of the ps network, and maybe it might be possible that they added online, but that is a big maybe

Other than that good game 10/10

I just played the ps2 yesterday. I fought a rathian in the swamp, and then got mawled be 10 bullfango repeatedly charging me, and the rathian followed. And then the camera kept wanting to auto ajust itself so I could look at the wall instead of at the monster (no I was not pressing L1).

I hate big companies like that. Such as G4, Game Informer, etc.
Most of them are stereotypical.
EXAMPLE NUMERO UNO-Monster Hunter Tri-Game Informer. 7-10 because it was tedious, but patience has its rewards.
RESPONSE NUMERO UNO-DUH. Last time I checked, thats what Monster hunter is! (And its on the Wii, Cough Cough.)
EXAMPLE NUMERO DOS-Call Of Duty-Modern Warfare:Reflex edition. 6-10 Some stupid reason that was so stupid I couldnt remember.
RESPONSE NUMERO DOS-Now, leave it to a world where the Wii is considered 'Lesser' and should be scrapped immediately, that all other Call of Duties are perfect (10-10) or near perfect (9-10) that the two on the Wii are 6-10 and 4-10. Now, Call of Duty 3 on the Wii sucked. I admit that. But Reflex was awesome! I actually got it last christmas and im STILL playing it! I didnt see ANYTHING wrong with it!
I rest my case. My Angry gamer rant is over.

Well I dont remember how because it's been awhile, but someone made a program that allows you to actually go online with MHF, I played it for awhile but when the newer ones started coming out attention with it started dieing down, Again I dont remember how to set it up but I remember getting the DL from here.

www.teamxlink.co.uk

I guess it could be a project for anyone with enough free time to give it a shot.

What the program did was, the creator (program creator not MH creator) made a small fake hunters guild (the difference is easily noticeable), and it basically act's as a server, there were about 5 when I first started and I think each server was able to hold about 100 people (sounds like none but this wasn't well known so no server was ever maxed), all the quests were added, and he even created 2 of his own monsters and add them to the quest log, I personally thought it was fun as hell, but some people were pissed that he was adding his own monster hunts, they were optional so I didn't see the big deal.

Anyways, good luck to any one who tries, I think there's only about 5-10 people on the servers at a time at this point (but thats really about all you need)
