I absolutely adore Battle Royale, I own the Director's Cut of I and the regular version of II, the first three mangas, and the novel (although my English teacher is reading it right now). I loved Kazuo Kiriyama and Mitsuko Souma... although Shinji and Kawada were cool too.

I've seen both versions of Battle Royal. I didn't really like the second film, but I liked the first film the best.

I've seen it twice. I found it sad really. The fact about what the whole thing represents. The "battle" if you will of being the top student in the school and systematically "kill off" the competition and weakest links. All for what? A college enterance exam that out scores everyone else. It's so scary to think about.

Makes you think what you'd do in the situation - I myself, say it depends on what "class" I am in the BR with; going to an American high school, it differs every 45 minutes. If, I was going on a grade basis - I would want to win, but there are some people I couldn't kill (however, if they were killed by somebody else, I could still win).
I value my life very little, however - in comparison to my peers, I would still want to win (in some cases - I might just want to be the one to take some of them down).

I own both of them but I don't think the second one was necessary. It's ok but there was no point. It's just more killing, you know.

I have both movies. #1 is definitely better than #2. I like the story behind #2 though. Too bad Kinji Fukasaku couldn't direct it.

I'd have to say that the first BR was the best one. The second didn't have the same touch. It just got so boring to me and the new rule kinda pissed me off.

I haven't seen any of the movies but I'm currently reading the manga. I love it. Shogo Kawada is my favorite character. I also like Hiroki Sugimura. He's got some bad a** moves.

Actually I read the translated novel before I saw the movie.
I loved the book! The movie was pretty good, but if anyone hasn't read the book they really should. : )
