Introduction

You are living on Gaia, in a fairly typical life. One day you are drawn to Barton Trench. You open the door to the dilapidated house, walking briskly through the weathering floorboards. A sudden draft blows through the frame of the house, billowing easily through the rickety frame of the house. It passes through the room in chaotic fury, blowing sheets and furniture aside. The floor groans and slowly begins to submit to your weight, collapsing and tossing you into the darkness. As the darkness encompasses you, you feel strange. The light above you grows fainter until you feel you are moving not only through space, but time as well. You body distorts and every molecule screams as their bonds are stretched past natural limits. As light disappears you begin to fade into unconsciousness. When you come to, you are standing in a meadow of preternatural proportions. Everything seems mundane, but new. There are trees, yet they have never seemed so... alien to you.

This is just a basic introduction. All introductions are welcome. Perhaps you are a detective sent on a mission to find out why so many Gaians have gone missing, perhaps a farmer looking for you cows, or maybe a Zurg trying to find your "True" home.

This world is not defined yet. You are free to create their reaction to meeting gaians (Or Zurg) for the first time, or define the town you first visit. Maybe there is some conspiracy on Zurg that only you, the outsider can see. Maybe you are left on the run from law enforcements. The choice is yours!

Name: Lea
Race: Gaian
Occupation: none
Looks: Long brown hair, brown eyes, long black button up shirt, grey baggy pants, black boots, black headband/bandanna, black belt with silver buckle
Bio: Lea is basically an introverted extrovert. Friendly, warm, and loud around those she is familiar with, but timid around those she doesn't know. Although at times she will feel a burst of friendlyness and reach out to someone she doesn't know, if they aren't so friendly to her, she will sink back into her shell. She seems to panic when she doesn't have hold of her situations, but is willing to help others in theirs. Odd combo? Yes, but that's just who she is.
Other: Oddly enough, Lea used to be part wolf, but an unexplanible "inccodent" took not only her ears and tail away, but her wolf-like senses. Now she relies on the instincts of her dog, Mochi.

-One year ago-

Lea stared in shock, hidden among the trees of Barton. It's dense forests were one of the safest, most familiar surroundings she knew. They sheltered her from everything: wind, rain, and the outside world.... (It wasn't like she was totally anti-social...but the fact that she had ears and a tail didn't make her a crowd favorite...) But all the feelings of saftey and home were suddenly shattered as Lea watched a strange light eminate from the sky, an odd shadow seeming to be causing the light. Every instinct in her said to run away as the shadow descended to the earth, but her human curiousity refused to let this go unchecked.
Not completley throwing caution to the wind, Lea sniffed the air, checking every possible scent that she knew. No one was there, and it seemed the object had no scent of it's own. "Ok....so it's not a living thing......but that doesn't mean there isn't something inside it..." Lea went on all fours, leaning forward to try and see the object better....no dice, her eyes weren't good enough to see from the distance she was at.... She had no choice but to look up close...To her great fortunes, the eiry light dimmed, giving her enough opportunity to sprint towards the structure.
Lea came to the side of the structure, listening intensley for any sound resinating from it's walls. Nothing. Lea moved warily towards the opposite side of the shadow, suddenly, her ears caught a strange sound coming from it's center. With soundless steps, she ran to the the middle of the structure, pressing her ear against the shadow. She heard voices speaking tounges she had never heard. Lea jerked her head back in confusion, running her hand down the side of the shadow.
"Spaceship.....?" Lea whispered.
Suddenly, the light periced her sight. The ship lifted towards the air, the wind thrashing her about. The ship roared like an angry beast that had just woken from a long sleep; it was definatly not happy with the intruder. Suddenly the ship lunged towards her, roaring in fury. She sheided her eyes and then...........nothing....

Lea woke up screaming, sheiding herself as if she was about to be shot. But.......there was no one there..... It was morning now: bright, shinging morning. No giant shadows trying to kill her, no eiry lights shinging in her face: everything was going to be ok. Lea gave a great sigh of relief, laying back down in the grass, her hands supporting her head. Sniffing the air, Lea was assured with the many scents of.........nothing....? If anything else had happened after such a scare she wouldn't have cared, but this concerned her, for it had never occured before.
Lea stood to her feet, feeling more than a bit off balance. Waving her arms unsteadily, Lea fell forward, her face almost landing in a puddle of water.
"Crap, what the heck is wrong with me?" Lea grunted, lifting her face from the dirt. But as she stared into her reflection, it showed a horrified expression that mirrored her own.
"MY EARS!!" Lea screamed, jumping up to her feet. "Where in God's name are my ears!?!" She grabbed the top of her had frantically, feeling around for her ears: they were gone. Panic striken, she reached for where her tail once was, but there was nothing but air. Lea stood, frozen. She listened, but heard only faint whispers of what she used to know. She smelled, but no scent came to her nostrils. She was alone, and now......completley vulnerable.
"Arf!"
"GAH!" Lea screamed, jumping a foot off the ground and cowering with her head hidden in her hands.
"Bowr....?" Lea heard whimpering sounds come from in front of her, sounds she was now completley alien to. Slowly lowering her hands from her face, she was greeted by the happy bark of a puppy.

-Present-

Lea walked happily down to the trees of Barton, a place that had once been her only home. She looked around, amazed at how much the place had changed. Where dense forests once stood houses, fountains, and open fields. When she came to an open field, she heard a happy bark echo from beside her. She looked down happily to see her dog, Mochi, wagging his tail happily as he looked at his surrowndings.
"That's right, this is where I found you. I'm surprised you remeber." It had been a year, and Mochi was almost full grown, but none the less he was more than happy to visit is old stomping grounds. Hoping to get Lea's attention, Mochi jumped on his hind legs, barking happily, then began spinning around in circles. "Alright, alright, go play." Lea said with a smile. In a flash the dog was off, running, jumping and barking to his hearts content.
Lea merley looked around her, thinking of her life back then....It sure wasn't the same as it was before.....but then again neither was she.
Her anti-social behaviour had turned into dust. Her lack of wolf-like awareness made her feel at ease. Not worrying about every little twig that cracked under her foot anymore was a definate stress relief. She was still a bit timid and insecure, but that was relitivley normal for anyone.
"Mochi, come back boy!" Lea called. There was no response, not a sound. "Mochi?" Lea called. Still no answer. Letting out a sigh, she began to walk forward, calling for her dog.
"Mochi? Mochi?" Lea called over and over. She looked around anxiously, where was he? Was he alright? Maybe he was hurt! The idea gripped Lea's stomache until suddenly, the figure of her dog sprang in front of her.
"Mochi! Thank goodness." Lea said, hugging her friend. "Don't you ever do that a-" Mochi turned tail and began to run. He stopped as she called him, but as she gestured him to come, he stayed motionless. All he let out was a bark, then went towards his destination. Feeling defeated, she had no choice but to follow him.
As they ran, the forest seemed to get denser and denser, almost as if she was traveling back in time to when she was abducted. That was before, of course, Gaia had been properly introduced to the Zurg. Now they seemed to be on friendly terms, and apologized for those they might have "inconvenienced" by the abductions. Inconvenienced wasn't exactly the word she would have used after ripping someone's ears out while they were asleep. It wasn't like she hated the Zurg or anything, she just didn't want to meet one in a dark alley that was all. Maybe it was all just a big misunderstanding? Who knew....
Lea was shocked out of her thoughts by the sound of Mochi's bark. She walked towards him, looking into his eyes with question. The dog merley stood before her, mouth agape with tounge hanging out, wagging his tail.
"What is it? What are you trying to find...?" But before either could take a breath, a soft crying came out of a patch of tall grass next to the dog. Lea stepped towards it, and slowley pealed aside the grass to reveal....a baby...! But it wasn't any baby...it was.....
"A Zurg.....!!" Lea gasped. It's cries became louder now, with little gasps of air inbetween each cry. "Hey now, don't cry." Lea whispered caringly, gently lifting the baby into her arms, cradling it motheringly. "Don't worry, everything will be ok." She said, holding the baby close. "Now where on earth.....Uh....where did you come from?" Lea asked. The baby merley looked at her with huge eyes, shining with tears. "Poor thing, it's not like you'd know." She said, pating it's head gently. "Well," Lea said, holding the little baby up. "You're wearing a dyper, so obiously someone has been taking care of you recently......But why on earth would they just leave you here?"
The little Zurg seemed to sense the futility of her words, and began to cry loudly. Panic stricken, Lea rocked the baby trying to calm it down. Didn't work. She tried burping it, that didn't work. She thought of singing to it, but was too freaked out to think of one.
"Uh.....please sweety, please stop." The sobbing continued. "No, no, no, please. Uh.......Ed? Danny?" The crying intesified, she couldn't think. Suddenly Lea blruted out. "KALE!" In an instant, the baby was silence, looking at her with total attention. "Well......" Lea said, wiping the sweat off her brow "At least now we have a name for you....Well......if we're gonna have a baby, we're gonna need some supplies... C'mon Mochi." With a bark and a smile, they made their way to town.

Name: Inai
Race: Zurg, though not a true Zurg - made so by the energy drink
Occupation: Member of Zurg Hive
Looks: (I'll go with my ID card avvie) Two shining blue horns protrude from Inai's head, like in hue to the long-sleeved, tight-fitting shirt she wears. Fitting snugly around her legs is a short black skirt bound by a belt. A black necklace falls across her chest, and on either shoulder rests pieces of gold-trimmed armor, matching that found around her waist and upon her black, belt-lined boots. Pinned upon her chest is a skull badge, the symbol of her affiliation with the Hive. A long dagger in a sheath rests just below the waist armor, attached by a belt fastened at a slant. True to the natural characteristics of her race, she is thin, alarmingly so to most Gaians not yet accustomed to it. Her height is average, her features differing little from any other Zurg of her gender.
Bio: Usually kind and laid-back, Inai does have somewhat of a temper that most often shows through when she's in a bad mood. She tries to deal with situations through words and discussion, but gets annoyed when people ignore her - often believing, and probably rightly so, that they simply don't understand her. If she's irritated or someone gets on her bad side, she's got a cynical side that she sometimes doesn't bother holding back, and she can become sarcastic, short-spoken, and rude. If she believes strongly in something, she will state her opinion, even if others disagree. She has very little tolerance for idiocy, and can be sharp-tongued if met with it. While she wants peace and works for it, she is skilled with her dagger, and isn't afraid to use it if she has to.
Other information: Inai was a Believer before joining Zurg Hive, but left, feeling that their goals had changed and that they weren't reflecting the true meaning of being a Believer.

YAY AN RP BIO. I feel odd RPing my Gaia avvie, as I don't really see Inai as a character so much as, well, a representation of me on Gaia. But I think I can do it. ^^ I think it would definitely help to have more than one thread for this RP, for people in different locations, and one for people to post bios, but I can see where that could get to be a lot. ^^;

Name: Streaky Haddock
Race: Robot
Occupation: Uh?
Looks: Can we use my Card piccy? :3
Bio: A rich bugger that often runs around screaming for peace. He is often beaten up with baseball bats or probes by people who don't agree. That and when he falls out of a tree, he often ends up strangling himself. (Hard to explain how a robot strangles oneself)
Other information: He isn't one of the stiff robots, he moves like a human, has emotion processors and stuff.

Lea walked in confusion around Barton Town. It wasn't a place she was particularly familiar with, and the fact that Kale was crying insesently wasn't helping.
"C-C'mon little guy, settle down." She said, gently patting the baby Zurg on the back. Dancing around with a green baby in her arms, Lea was more than an odd sight to see. Nothing seemed to work; he was hungry, that was all there was to it. Mochi wimpered, trying to fold his ears back to block the noise.
"I know boy, I know. But I have no clue what Zurg eat at all, let alone Zurgan babies." Lea passed slowly from building to building, when a sign reading "Barton Botique" caught her eye. "Maybe there's something in there." She thought aloud.
Once inside the store, Lea looked from shelf to shelf, trying to get some inkling of little Kale's taste. "Man....there's gotta be something....."

Name: Mathaia
Race: Zurg
Occupation: None
Looks: The elemental hair wig makes it look as if she has long, light blue hair despite the fact Zurg don't naturally have hair. In this 'hair' she wears a simple white headband adorned with a single daisy. She wears a basic white summer dress under a floral yellow apron. On her legs are yellow and wite striped stockings and on her feet she wears white slip-on shoes.

With her is Zuzo, a baby male Zurgling. He wears a nappy and a blue t-shirt.

Bio: After arriving on Gaia, she has tried her best to mix with the locals, often fascinated with their language and actions. She met Zuzo one day when someone had left him in her usual doodling spot in towns with a note saying 'Please look after dear Zuzo.' She had no idea where he had came from, but she took him as sh had always wanted a child of her own.
