Tui'lian had once again snuck away from her new mentor and friend. The two adolescants had been wandering the lands outside the Ushirkino Watembezaji pride lands, careful not to enter the lands though. Tui was just as energetic as she was when she was a cub, still bouncing around and finding it hard to not ask questions about everything she saw. She loved to absorb information about things, and her new friend Chowa seemed full of answers.

But the young lioness loved to wander by herself as well, collecting her thoughts and exploring the forests. She had grown to know the land very well, and she rarely lost her way now.

As she padded through the trees, her golden coat matching the color of the setting sun, she began to form stories and siutations in her vivid imagination. She always did this when she was alone, her own form of daydreaming. She got a glazed look on her face as she walked, thinking about everything and nothing.

The wandering serval had found himself in a lovely new area, and was quite content to be there. His life consisted of a lot of explorations, never staying in one place long lately. Fahari even was wondering if it was getting a bit too tiring for him, but quickly pushed the thought aside and blamed his desire to find water and rest, and the fact it was nearing night. Yes, some rest would do him some good.

He hummed a cheerful, somewhat offtune song as he walked along. As usual, he was not too concerned with keeping himself hidden or running into others. He kept his eyes open and weaved through the trees in a less than cautious manner.

The golden lioness didn't hear the serval until she had almost ran right into him. She stepped back in surprise, then tilted her head to the side curiously as she watched him for a few moments. "Hello." She said cheerfully, smiling down at him. "I'm Tui." She said, bending her head down a bit to be more at his eye level, "What and who are you?" She asked, her long tail swishing back and forth behind her. She had never seen a creature like this before, probably since she had lived within the Unity Walkers lands for most of her life. She had the urge to prod the creature with a paw, but resisted, thinking maybe that would be rude. "Can you understand me?" She asked, speaking slowly as if it weren't capable of intelligent thought.

Fahari was started to almost run into a lioness, and didn't stop quite at the same time as her- tripping a couple steps ahead. He chuckled quietly to himself and backed up a bit to be a bit less awkward.

"Hello, Tui," he grinned, then laughed at her questions for him. He'd met those that didn't know what he was, but this one didn't seem sure he was inable to speak and think, "I'm a serval, my name is Fahari, and I can understand you. Don't run into many servals?"

Tui shook her head with a smile, her tuft of dark hair flowing into her eyes. SHe scowled at it and blew it from her face. "No, never. Until now." She grinned down at him. It was the last image her breakfast had seen that morning, but she meant no harm to this here... thing. "Serval, huh?" She asked, sitting down. "You kinda look like a lion... like a mini one." She giggled childishly, swaying her tail back and forth behind her. "Whatcha up to? Where'd ya come from? You got any family? How old are you? Do other animals try to eat you? What do you eat?" The questions poured from her mouth like a dam breaking, and she smiled innocently down at him. She seemed to be a cub in and adolescants body.

Fahari laughed heartily as the questions just tumbled out of her mouth all at once. He wasn't the least bit threatened by her actions despite his last encounter with a lion going bad- he had made it away, and she seemed far too curious to eat him. He clearly had atleast until her curiosity was sated.

"Slow down a little bit!" he laughed, "I don't look exactly like a lion, I'm not quite as fuzzy as I'd be if I were." Fahari tossed his head to demonstrate his complete lack of mane. "I'm exploring, though I mostly prefer to stay in more open areas. I usually eat rodents, and in fact the last time I met a lioness she seemed intent on trying to eat me."

So he didn't answer all of her questions, but there were just so many of them- it was hard to get them all answered without rambling on or speaking as fast as she seemed to be.

Tui nodded, seemingly satisfied with his answers - for the moment. "I've been wandering, too. Though I have a friend with me." She smiled brightly. "I dunno where she is right now though." She looked up for a moment, seemingly trying to think of where her friend could be located. She then shrugged it off and tossed her mane from her eyes.

"Rodents? Like mice and stuff? I've had those, they don't really fill me up much." She said, shrugging once more. "I prefer zebras and gazelle." Her grin widened and she laughed a little, "Though I don't think a little thing like you could catch one of those." She said, smiling kindly once more. "Would you like to wander with me for a while, new friend?"

Fahari looked around the jungle when Tui declared she was travelling with a friend- more lions, perhaps? How nice it would be to meet more, as long as they didn't pull what that last one did. He'd had fun, sure, but he wasn't as used to being around so many trees.

"Ah," he nodded, looking back at Tui, "And you got it right, there. I have to hunt smaller animals, I'm definetely not big enough to catch something like a zebra or gazelle." He almost sounded a bit sour about this, but he shook his head. No point being envious of anothers hunting abilities, it wasn't a competition. Not about the size of prey, at least.

"I'd love to wander with you," Fahari agreed enthusiastically, "I don't suppose you could help me find some water?"

Tui nodded her head with a proud grin, puffing out her chest. "I can help you there!" She said, standing up. She motioned for him to follow her. "This way. There's a small stream down here." She began walking, glancing back at him to make sure he was following.

Tui was a rather small lioness, smaller than most her age. She was used to everyone being much larger than her, and maybe that was why she was so drawn to her new friend. He was the first creature she'd met that was smaller than her and not a meal. "Are you headed anywhere in particular? Or are you just wandering around?" She asked, cocking her head to the side as she walked slowly, wondering if Fahari could keep up.

"Thank you, Miss Tui," he grinned at her, and followed obediently after her for a moment before catching up to walk along side him. Fahari had a happy bounce in his step now, he was pleased at having met such a friendly lioness.

"No, I'm just wandering around," he replied, "I spend a lot of my time doing that, actually. Do you stay in the jungle here?" It sounded to him like she didn't get out much, and that was almost sad. But, to each their own!

Tui nodded a little, glancing over to him. "Yeah, I traveled here with my family when I was very young, I don't really even remember it." She said, looking up at the sky for a few moments. "I just remember my mother being very nervous almost all the time, and my father always outside protecting our den." She shook her mane, trying to rid her mind of the thoughts. "My dad hasn't told me the entire story yet, but from what I gather he and my mom were captured and made slaves until they were set free."

"Ah, here we are." She said, looking over to the small stream that crisscrossed it's way through the trees. It seemed a very random sight, and hard to find. It made almost no sound as it strolled along calmly.

"Ah, that's too bad, there's a great wide world out there," he said matter-of-factly, grinning. His smile fell when she said she guessed her parents had been slaves, "It's good they got free, I couldn't imagine being a slave! We're all better off just getting along, in my opinion."

He shook his head, but then was quickly distracted by the announcement that they had arrived. Grinning his relief, he hopped over to the water and took a drink.

Tui smiled and nodded happily. "I'm glad, too. I don't think I would have liked being a slave." She said with a giggle. She pranced over to the water's edge to join the serval. "Most of my family like to swim, but I find it rather uncomfortable." She said with a weird look at the water below her. "You get all wet and smelly, and it takes ages to dry off. And it's cold." She made a sour face, then lapped at the water. "It's good to drink, though." She grinned widely down at her new friend. "Do you swim?"

Fahari listened to Tui while he drank, pleased to be around water again. With a content sigh, he lifted his head back up from the water and smiled at his new friend, "Thank you for leading me here, I don't think I'd have found it on my own."

He looked back to the stream at the question about swimming, and wrinkled his nose, "I can swim, but I don't like it too much. I agree that it's just uncomfortable and cold. You're probably better off than I am fighting against some of the stronger bodies of water." A rough river would definetely be something to fight against for one so small, though there was some strength involved. He looked back from the water to Tui.

The lioness nodded her ehad as she laid by the river. She dipped a toe into it and titled her ehad to the side. "It's rather warm today." She said, swishing her foot around slowly in the water. A small yellow fish swam up and looked at her foot with wide, unblinking eyes. Tui grinned and looked to her new friend. "Watch this. My dad showed me how to fish."

The lioness stood, making the small fish swim off with amazing speed. She turned around, and dipped the tip of her tail into the water. A few more little fish started swimming around and eying the 'worm'. Suddenly one of them swam up fast and bit hard. Tui cringed a little, they did have teeth after all! She quickly flipped her tail from the water and sent the fish flying onto the shore. She looked to Fahari with a wide and proud smile. "Works like a charm."
