Sorry guys, made a repeat topic by accident, so I may as well turn it into something else!
I'm still wondering why they chose Cardiff for Torchwood. It's an odd choice, isn't it?
Why do you think they chose Cardiff, and where would you have liked it to be filmed ideally? xD

I dunno why Cardiff. I guess they just wanted another capital city as part of it. But seeing as the rift is there that might be a reason too.

nah, like I said (and I think they said) it was because it would be shot in the place it was set. It is what it is. It isnt Splot being 1953 London, it's 2006/7 Cardiff being 2006/7 Cardiff (except Time TRavel stuff XD)

They put the Rift in Cardiff in the first place because they were sick of making Cardiff look like someplace else.

I think that they just wanted to have another major city in the area. (Speaking of major cities, I felt bad for it not being on the globe, so a friend and I labelled it on a map we were doing for history, except we labelled it in Welsh, and my poor absent friend called me up in tears because she couldn't find 'Caerdydd' anywhere in her textbook.)

I'm just insanely happy that they didn't try to set it in London to try and make it cool.
I've never had any interest in Cardiff before Torchwood, but now that I've seen it, the place looks so damn awesome.

I was addressing envelopes at work a little while ago and there was one that was going to Splot, and I had a small *squeee* moment. 3nodding

So awesome! I might visit there xd I wonder if they did use Splot as Splot and not somewhere else in rural Cardiff for it! I wanna run around that little park thing they chased Bernie Harris around.
