Assuming that no-one in this guild already has babies (except for Busty Biohazard who had Gogo's pixellated bebbies) then would you genuinely consider giving them the names of FFVI characters?

Well, I don't ever plan on having, or adopting (In my case) children, but if I did, I'd be cruel and call it "Moogle-kins the first" The give birth to many more of these moogle babies, just for shits and giggles. stare

Naming your kid "Moogle" is just plain wrong, but I don't think it's that wrong to name your kid something like Locke or Celes, especcialy when they aren't terribly uncommon names.
*Wonders how many people have the name Cid*
I can't imagine anyone naming their kid Gestahl considering it comes directly from a rendering of "gastly".
I have, however unfortunate this may be, concidered naming a male child of mine Vivi.... then I thought it would make a better middle name... gonk Now I'm thinking of naming a pup Vivi instead...
I don't think I could ever bring myself to name anything of mine Terra, though.

Really, I think it depends on the name. For instance, I could never name my kid Locke, simply because it's one of my psudonymes. I could see myself naming a kid Celes or Terra though, possibly with the middle name Ultros.

I doubt my chikd/children would be able to figure out the name thing, well at least till they got around to playinf FF6.
But of course, naming a child Terra, Celes or Edgar isn't too bad. Setzer, Locke, Sabin and Relm are pushing it and Umaro, Gogo, Mog, Strago and Gau are just wrong for a child's name.

You can't use Esper names because most summons from Final Fantasy are based in some sort of real-world mythology of old. For example:
Kirin is an interpreted modern spelling of Qilin (kay-lun), a mythical hooved animal said to appear when a sage is created and punish sinners when walking on grass. Kirin is also the name of a medical supplies company which was named after the beast.
So, without doing propper research, and naming your children after Espers, you would have named your kid after a medical supplies company. Imagine going around with the name "Dentists McInternational".
