Okay everybody. Ever since I banned a lot of "inactive" members from FDG, I've gotten a lot of crap about "some people weren't here" or "that was mean no_shot"", and all of this other junk. I've also gotten over 20 PM's about this, so I figured it's about time I said why. So here is the story from the beginning:
I was chilling one day, it was about two weeks ago, when I happened to be looking over the member list. I noticed that we had A LOT of people with inactive posts. I also noticed that there really wasn't enough activity going on in the FDG than there should be.
After noticing this, I flipped over to the GR, and I saw that z-bandit had deemed that anyone who hadn't posted in the thread was going to get the boot. His reason, and I quotez-bandit I am tired of still seeing inactive members! You either post here by friday or you can consider your self banned. This is a new year people. The GR is starting fresh, we will be more strict, If you dont post in a two week time period you can say good bye! If you wont be on, let a officer or leader know. If you have under 15 posts by friday, you will be gone. Friday is the day we will try as hard as we can to bring people in here. This will be a good year, for the GR is about to grow in numbers!
So I posted the announcement that anyone who hadn't posted at all in the guild was to be banned on the 6th
It's the seventh now, and wow how many PM's have I gotten from both active and banned members about this thing!
So here are my reasons, I'm going to use some of the stuff I said to Magic because that pretty much summarizes it:
1: I understand that people might not have been able to see the post that said that they have 6 days to post something. BUT:
2: You have to understand that this guild was made two months ago. I see no reason why someone couldn't get one post in from the time they joined to now.
I invited over 100 people to the guild, and I'm pretty sure they all accepted. So for two months, you are saying that someone deserves to stay in the guild, despite the fact that they did not post a single thing?
If you don't have time to post in the guild, then I see no reason why you should be in the guild at all.
Now tell me that you do not agree with what I think? Imagine that you're like 10 years old, and you invited 100 people to your birthday party. They all say "hey, that's cool!" and they come to the party. Half of the people of that party don't say a single word, or do a single thing while they're at that party. They didn't even bring a present.
How are you supposed to feel about that? So you kick those people out of the party, because they're not doing anything, and all the sudden they get mad!
People, this was planned out, and posted. Any member that thinks they deserve true recognition should have posted. They didn't, and this is what happened.
I will make one exception Some members were invited after the guild was made. MOST of those people are still here. If you know someone that you think deserves to be put back in the guild, by all means let a crew member know.
These were the reasons that it happened, please stop PM'ing me about it.
