The sun was just starting to rise to the middle of the sky, heralding the passing of half the day. And Ladius hadn't been lax in that half the day either, as was evidenced by the fine sheen of sweat that covered most of her body.
"Whew!" Tossing back her mane, the dark mare splashed some water in her face, smiling a bit at the icy refreshment the action created. It had been a good workout this morning; a run through the woods, followed by honing her skills on a few hapless trees; now for a swim and lunch break! Having refreshed herself with the light splash of water, Ladius smiled...then dove into the spring.

Of course it was Artemis Entreri's usual routin to take a run when it was mid day, then he would go off and take a nice flight to keep his wings in proper shape. as he ran he purposly was going a little beyond his limite to push himself and keep in top condition. after his flight he planned to eat then go pratice more of his trainning he did daily. slowing down, he need to refresh himself before taking to the skys and he remebered there was a spring near by. little did he know there was a mare there when he walked through the trees.

Though splashing about was well and good, Ladius had always prefered to keep her movements to a minimum when she was swimming; wasted motion was the fastest way to get worn out, and energy was an important thing to conserve. Consequently, she was swimming laps around the spring cleanly and quietly, which was probably why the other Soquili hadn't heard her or even realized she was there.

after he got through thetrees and was a few steps from the spring, he then finaly noticed the mare swimming about. yes since she was quietly swimming he hadn't noticed, if she had made any noise, he would have caught on rather quickly. not makign any noise to call attention to himself, he quietly and lightly went over to the edge of the water to drink and hopefuly she hadn't heard him earlyer when coming in, when he wasn't trying to keep quiet. if anything he really didn't need some mare about or even near him.

One ear swiveled slightly. Hoofbeats, from a larger stallion by the sound of them. Or possibly a large mare; she wasn't going to rule that out based on mere footsteps. But keeping an ear of the steps even as she continued to swim, Ladius was aware of the stallion the second he came into view. Dark eyes narrowed breifly, but she made no other indication she'd even noticed his prescence otherwise. It wasn't like she felt like encouraging stallions, after all, and from the look of things he was only here for a drink. Well, she was only swimming, no reason that they couldn't do both.
Still, she wasn't going to be completely snobby. As she swam past on her fifth circuit, she gave the stallion a brief nod of greeting. "Good day to you."

Entreri didn't respond to the mare at first, and grabed his drink first before anything. after beign satsfied that hehad enough to drink, he lifted his head up and took a moment to look at the mare before sayign anythign. "good day to you to." his tone even, he ruffled his feathers a bit to smooth them one as the cloak/cape messed his feathers on his wings up sometimes. and though dispite the somewhat ruged look, he actualy did like to keep himself clean cut but that seemed to never keep that way.

At the stallion's greeting, Ladius merely inclinced her head politely and kept on swimming. She'd done her mannerly thing, so now she could just focus on her swimming. Not that such a simple task needed focus, but she liked to put her attention into the task at hand regardless of complexity. Besides, many other Soqs came by the spring to drink, and they all moved on quickly. Which was nice, given the annoyance factor!

hmm odd she said nothing else to him unlike others whould do. no matter, it seemed he might be forced to strick a conversation up which he really didn't feel liek doing but, he atlest wanted a name to go with a face just incase though ironicly he never had gotten that blue and white stallions name. " so would you think it terribly rude if i asked whom might you be." again he had a even tone though he hardly cared if he was rude in asking who this mare was.

Without breaking her stroke or even glancing at the winged stallion again, Ladius continued along in her swimming, but her voice was even. "I wouldn't be adverse to telling, as long as I received one in return. Though I have to wonder why one stopping to drink would care about something as trivial as a name." And her tone betrayed nothing; not curiousity or annoyance or anything, merely simple level-toned peace.

" i wouldn't worry why im bothing even to ask such a question." of course he noticed she kepted doing what she was doing with out even glazing at him which was fine with him, as she could do as she pleased since it was hardly worth his care to say anythign about it. " as to reciving a name in return thats fine. i am Artemis Entreri and you are." again he kept his tone even, not showing anything in it but the way he chose to speak his words spoke out that he was not caring, ether way.

"Well then, Artemis Entreri, my name is Ladius. For your records, or whatever." Ten laps. Routine was important when you were in training, and her cool-down was ten laps. So as she tossed her name casually at the stallion, the dark mare pulled herself out of the water at the end of the spring opposite the stallion, shaking herself off gracefully. Swimming had been pleasant, and now it was time for some food.

Entreri wasn't in the lest annoyed although it seemed she was just brushign him aside just as he was doing the same towards her. but what caught his attention was he could tell she did her own training by how she specificly didn't stop in her swim at all when talking. spreadng out his wings, he lanched himself acroos the spring and onto the otherside, landing lightly and returned his wings to his side. " so Ladius is swimming a cetainamount of laps a routine?" he didn't normaly ask questions but it had sparked his ceriousity,

Tilting her head to one side, Ladius rubbed her braided mane against her flank, then rolled them to wring them out. It was this that she was doing when the stallion flew over, and it was this she continued to do as he spoke; the last thing she needed was soggy braids. They got so heavy when they were full of excess water...
At his question, though, the mare raised a brow, the only deviation so far from her staid demeanor. "Yes, of course it is. Anyone who follows a plan of excercise knows the importance of following things through quickly and well-paced. Given that you're a fighter yourself, I imagine you can understand where I'm coming from."
Perhaps the comment seemed a bit surprising, but now that the stallion was right beside her Ladius had noticed the tone of his muscles, the lightness of which he stood; he'd been nearly silent approaching her spring, silent enough that her own keen ears hadn't detected him until he was almost there...therefore, it was logical that he was a fighter.

Ah now where geting somewhere atlest geting to know what he wanted to know with out seeming to be one that asked a million questions. and her responce was one he had mostly expected from the mare as when he got closer he could tell she put in time to excercise. " Ah a good responce and a true one at that. and one such as myself would not be cross to asume you, atlest keep in shape unlike alot of others that are around here?"

Finishing with the wringing out of her mane, Ladius turned her attentions to her tail, but by now her eyes were on the stallion rather than the banal task of tail-wringing. So that he was a fighter was obviously correct; not only his own physical attributes but that he'd been able to tell she herself was a fighter told her that much, and made her a bit more interested than she would have otherwise been.
Twisting the tail with her teeth, she used a foreleg to squeeze the excess water out before speaking once again. "Indeed, I take physical capability very seriously. Unless you can suitably defend yourself, you have no reason to expect to receive the privacy and respect that I, at least, prefer. And unless you are willing to back up what you say with your own life, it's not worth saying, is it?" Quirking a brow at the stallion, she finished off the tail with a final wring, then straightened up to finally look him in the eye; she was a firm believer in eye contact when speaking, and the gaze that met his was solid.
"And a fighter can never be strong enough, as I beleive that you would agree, Artemis Entreri. But since I don't make the fact I live around here a widely known point...what is it that brings you to my little corner of the woods? I can't say it offers a great deal of training possibilities, nor am I so vain I believe that I actually have a reputation." The smirk that crossed her lips there was honest; she doubted that the stallions she'd had to 'discipline' would have been inclined to reveal that a MARE had wiped the floor with them.
