Have you encountered people who promote themselves at every oppourtunity? Their skills/services/talents/websites/journals/poetry...and even their *ahem* sexual skills? blaugh Do you find this kind of advertising grabs your attention and makes you interested in checking out what their self proclaimed skills, or do you find their insistance in proving how good they are in what they do/what they have annoying and ignore it completely?

If someone is too cocky/self assured, boasting that their site/talent/etc is the best, I lose interest in whatever they're proclaiming they excell at, but if they modestly say that they're pretty good at something and ask for others to look at whatever they're trying to promote, that's when I'll usually will find interest.

So what is your take on shameless self promotion? Discuss *oh, please check out *~Tessiebean's Advice Bar~*...we're ready to help you out and get you liquored up blaugh *

I honestly think people who do that have something to prove. Obviously, since they need to spell it out to others, they must be doubting themselves.

Everyone needs to have a talent to feel that they're good at something... sweatdrop

... I am the greatest! j/k!

Well I don't think it's a crime to be confident and to be able to admit what you are good at. It's people who claim their good at everything that drive me mad! Or people who don't know what they're talking about.

I don't mind it when it stays within reasonable limits. There's nothing wrong with feeling confident about your skills. There's more than enough out there in the world to feel insecure about, I think.
