There is a question Sasha would like to ask all those Hansi gave a gift: who in the world would be stupid enough to actually open it? Of course, Hansi is a completely trustworthy guy if he doesn’t find something more interesting to do, and all he wants to do is make people happy. He always causes trouble, and it seems he has done it again.

The nicely decorated boxes each person received was hiding a nice little imp inside, no less than eight inches and no more than twelve. Some even know magic to wreak ever more havoc on everyone around them. Good luck to all those who actually opened the box. Remember, you can always use a bottle to capture them again.

---

He had sent out those stupid packages days ago, and poor little Hansi was getting impatient! He was sitting around in a corner of Divinations, quite bored, playing with a paperclip that had escaped from…well, somewhere. Perhaps, however, it was kidnapped, but either way, he still played with the poor little thing, leaning all the way back in the chair Sasha keeps out for safety reasons. After that last scare with Lucas at the Egyptian Death Festival, he would never go without it around.

“Miki-chan!” he flew forward in the chair, tossing the paperclip off somewhere into the store. “THEY ALL WENT BYE-BYE AND NOTHING HAS HAPPENED AND NOW I AM REALLY BORED AND SORRY FOR THROWING THAT AT YOU!” He flailed his arms some, letting the sleeves flap stupidly. Suddenly, he stopped and pushed the glasses up his nose, ignoring the strange looks from Sasha. Surely he was not talking to himself again? “RIGHT, LET’S GO WAIT OUTSIDE!”

Without another word (though he did make some noises) Hansi grabbed the chair and ran out the shop door…only to sit outside by it. Eh, as long as Sasha could get to the chair if he needed it again…

It’s not every Christmas you’re given a troublesome imp as a gift. It was rare for Renn to get any gifts – other than the tips she gained from her floristry business, and the treats she bought herself, - and so she was naturally suspicious of the icy-coloured box which found itself plonked on her kitchen table for scrutinous inspection. It SEEMED normal, at a glance… but then Christmas day had come and gone, and the present remained unopened. The woman treated it as though it was a ticking time-bomb, waiting to detonate. New Year’s Eve came, still no activity or provocation from Renn; and then midnight. From the box had sprung a sprightly young imp, flapping his feathered wings excitedly and sending himself rocketing into the air.

He was peculiarly attired. Something which resembled the hybrid of a witch’s hat and the type you’d get around Christmas was placed at a jaunty angle atop his ice-coloured locks; a corset ‘covered’ his chest, halting abruptly at his hips and making way for his strange ‘skirt’. Beneath this strange piece of clothing were.. suspenders?! attached to flared jean legs. Everything held a very wintry theme, much like this wings, reminiscent of the type you’d see on small birds.

Renn was awestruck at this young boy’s co-ordination skills, and was quick to mistake him for a woman. Well, anyone could’ve done it – his lips were so full, his face so soft, his general demeanour so… gentle. Hardly the type of air you’d see hanging around a male, if Renn would allow herself to be so stereotypical and judgmental.

“Vae,” the imp had stated almost instantaneously. Using his wings to propel him into the air, he headed for Renn’s shoulder and plonked himself there, dangling his legs over one side. “And you are?”

Now completely awestruck, Renn decided the only thing to do was return to sender. But who had sent it? Glancing at Vae out of the corner of her eye, she frowned. The strange gift reminded her of someone… but who? Ahh. Hansi.

That’s the reason Renn found herself heading for Divinations, the last place she’d seen Hansi. Vae followed, fluttering along behind her with a slight giggle every now and again. He was rather delirious, considering he’d been inside that box for god knows how many days. Spotting strangers outside Divinations, he zoomed over to them with a playful, “Oooooh!”

Leran had waited quite long enough. He'd recieved this gift days ago and, in a fit of amused obediance, actually hadn't opened the box, instead putting it on his entertainment set and declaring it as the best decoration he had ever recieved in his life.

Maybe, somewhere, somehow, inside of him he was half-way frightened to open the gift. Nothing had come of his call to the authorities about Sasha... Or, he didn't know if anything had or not, but he certainly had avoided that part of town since his first and last visit. But now? Now this gift had arrived and those people shouldn't have even known where he was and.... He just knew he was being stalked and considered for a meal or something for that nasty Sasha. And, so... Maybe, just maybe... he was scared of what was inside of that box.

Maybe it wasn't even that consideration. Maybe it was the fact that the stupid box did weird things. Like... not being where he put it... and insisting on showing up sleeping on the pillow with at night. And making weird sounds. And shaking. And, frankly, after it had simply sat there the first 48 hours, that was strange. Usually live things were active and then still if stuck in a box. This thing just got more active. And he was not going to be the one to release more voo doo in his house. Especially if it turned out to be a voo doo doll or something. It would serve him right, after calling the 'creepy old geezer' in for abuse.

Whatever it was, Leran was on his way to.... to.... He wasn't sure what, but he reasoned with himself that truth was that he really just wanted to see Hansi. Yeah, that was it. To make sure he was ok. Or, if he really was crazy and Sasha was actually just some nice man half-crazed himself from the constant lunacy around him, he could be nice for the bad deed and relieve him of the stress. Yeah. That was all. Besides, Hansi would probably like opening the box for Leran. It'd be an amusing twist.

Or something.

"Hansi, hey, Hansi," he shout-whispered as he jogged the last few steps to the man. He didn't plan on staying long, or drawing any sort of attention to himself.

Except... see...instead of the crazy Hansi greeting he expected, some little.... thing... came up and made some cooing sound at him and the people there in general...

"Wha--!?!" It was the only statement, intelligent or not, Leran managed to get out as he stared at Vae.

His box jiggled.

Vae peered at Leran, before hovering closer to his face and flicking the end of his nose. "Haha!" he proclaimed, beaming proudly. What he was proud of was a mystery. "You're not Hansi," the imp noted, shaking his finger in reprimand.

Renn, horrified that Vae had chosen now to play up - and still wondering what he was doing in her care in the first place, - dived forward and attempted to swipe him away from the boy she recognised from Divinations before.

"I'm sorry," she gushed apologetically, lowering her head quickly before returning to her attempted capture of Vae. The imp saw this as a fun game and played along, zooming close to her hands before darting just out of reach.

"Girly wants to play!" he giggled.

Ai slowly walked along the road, mostly silent for once, yet one could hear her occasionally mumble something under her breath. Atop her head sat a little pink imp with a magazine about her size.

Remembering the day’s earlier events in which the pink box she found at her door a few days previous had opened revealing this little pink imp. Said little pink imp, right after popping out of her pretty pink box and scaring the crap out of Ai, who could only think to ask, “What are you?!”, managed to find a magazine with which to smack Ai over the head with.

“The name’s Ashiri for your information, and I’m an imp. Get used to it,” were the first words the pink imp said. As Ai continued to freak out about the gift from Hansi, she continued to get smacked on the head with magazines, until she came to her senses and thought to find this so called Hansi and Sasha.

Now walking up to Divinations she caught sight of others standing near the shop.

((OC: Huzzah, I'm new to this kinda guild, thanks MS. xD))

It was strange enough that Vega had recieved a random box, that was a dark eerie green. It was even stranger what he had recieved instead. Not the strange as in when your aunt sends you a pinx box with a fuzzy wool sheep sweater, not the strange when a man comes up to you and asks for a million dollars, but "don't open this box. It spells DEATH all over". However, Vega had appreciated the fact that someone sent him a present, and it would've been rude to not open it. When Vega finally opened it after staring at it for about a couple of hours, he was awfully suprised. a little imp had sprung out of the box, as if she were anxious for air.

Now, Vega just stared at the little imp, staring back. Vega, who was curious, attempted to poke her.

"Hey, don't touch!"
She said in a serious tone, peering at him. Vega waved his hands in a "Back off" way.

"Whoa... sorry."
Vega said, looking away from her from a second. He scratched his blue hair, and looked at her again.

"So... I guess you're... stuck with me?"
He said, changing the tone in "stuck" to make it sound nicer.

"Yep. I belong to you."
Vega sighed, looking at her again.

As anyone who knew him could tell you, and probably anyone who just happened to watch him for a few minutes could tell you, Hansi was not the quiet type. Yet, here he was, unspeaking, only watching the people that had suddenly come up out of nowhere. Maybe the fact they had all appeared at once scared him, or possibly his body had finally had it and stopped working for the funny fellow. But finally he grinned, leaning forward in the chair so he was perched up on one elbow, which was nicely resting on his leg. “Miki-chan!” a voice why too high-pitch for a grown man, reaching almost a fangirl-ish pitch. He added the ‘-chan’ to the end in a way that implied that it was part of the unseen figure’s name instead of a mere sign of affection, and knowing Hansi it probably was. “People are here, Miki-chan!”

Now, let’s make this very clear. Hansi will talk to himself. He does talk to himself. He enjoys talking to himself, and he especially enjoys talking to his friend the wall. This time, however, he was doing neither. Instead, he appeared to be talking to his leg. Or, perhaps, the being on his leg.
One second there was nothing there, and in the next a small, red-skinned imp was laying on it. It was not as if he materialized or faded in; instead he just appeared, as if one blinked, leaving one asking “Was that thing there before?” And of course he was. You just didn’t see him. This power could come in handy for Hansi, who seemed to have an imp of his own.

“Jus’ ‘cause they can’t see me doesn’t mean I can’t see them.” The little imp sat up and stretched, eyeing the people and imps around him. Instead of holding interest he merely yawned. Suddenly, he attached himself to Hansi’s arm, climbing up, forked devil tail hanging, until he got to Hansi’s shoulder, where he delicately sat. One may say the way he sat was slightly, well, naughty, and the fact that all he wore was some tight black hot pants didn’t help this fact. Of course, just as Hansi never made sense, the imp probably always held himself this way. Once again he yawned, and again he eyed his fellow imps behind strings of black hair, though no interest ever seemed to spark. “Hansi’s been waitin’.”

After walking to where Asta had told him to go, he placed on his odd sweater, wrapped his scarf around his clothed neck, placed his steel toe boots, and walked towards the shop he was directed to. After arriving, Vega had seen the strange person, and scratched his head. Asta simply sat on his shoulder. Vega... was scared, just by looking at Hansi. He kept sure to keep his distance, for Vega was an easy one to creep out.
"Sooo...."
Vega added quietly, sinking his mouth beneath his scarf.

"That's Hansi."

"Hansi..."
Vega repeated, blinking a couple of times. He turned his head, looking at him once more, but quickly glanced back, not to attract his attention.

Leran was the sort who was extremely proud in his reputation as the biggest, most extravagant clown that anyone knew. He took that reputation pretty seriously and had always taken other clowns as challenges. And always rose to the top as number one. Perhaps that very obvious challenge that those kooks at this Divinations shop was another reason he had decided to march on over.

Leran now looked around him, taking one long, silent look at Hansi, the imps, and their people, dropped his box, and went into the shop. His feet took him directly to Sasha. When he spoke it was, as usual, with some purpose, but also, surprisingly enough, with politeness, “Excuse me, but I would like to be removed from the shop’s…or yours…or Hansi’s mailing list.” And memory! “I don’t think my family would be too happy with what is offered. Uhm… sorry if I’ve offended anyone or anything…”

The shop and its people had won the battle of the most gregarious. Perhaps that would have been a good lesson to grow on for the teenager if he was simply able to walk away at this point, as he fully intended to do, but things just aren’t that simple. Not when an amused writer has conspired against you and you’ve managed to just anger an imp.

Outside, Leran’s box jumped a few times, and then rolled over to what it presumed was a leg, though it could just as easily have been the chair, a pole, a wall, or a particularly hard patch of air. It shook where it was, a move easily interpreted as indignation and a demand of some sort. Like being opened. Apparently the creature inside didn’t have the gusto to pop out of the box like the other imps, and its attempts to hint at Leran what it wanted were always thwarted by being placed neatly back on the shelf Leran had condemned it too.

Instead of staring at Leran with a strong fake smile, Sasha could only muster a weak one, forced out of habit. Of course, this did not make it seem less true, for even with him like this, he could act well. It was merely a weak smile from a tired man. Obviously Sasha had yet to get over the effects of the Egyptian Death Festival. “I can assure you I have no mailing list, and I cannot guarantee I can keep Hansi from sending things to you. I can try the next time he comes up with a crazy idea, though.” In any normal circumstance his words would be elegant and well-voiced, but just as with his smile, he could only do so much. If he had been completely in his right mind, he would have recognized Leran and replied much more harshly, but luckily did not have the energy to pay attention or do so.

---

Hansi did not comment at Leran’s exit, or rather, entrance to Divinations. He finally took to his feet, still smiling at the people around him and ignoring the disappearance of Leran. For all we know he did not notice; he sees things which are not there, so he might as well not see those which are. The box was more interesting anyways, especially since he knew its contents. “OOO, HANSI KNOWS THAT ONE! Lucas wrapped it. Sasha let me play with the tape.”

Vega looked around at the other people. His instincts told him from memory, it was these events. Before, he was only at one for a visit, but now, he was part of it. Asta poked at him, looking at him blankly.

"Well? What are you standing there for?"
She said, smiling at him devilishly. Vega sighed, looking at her blankly.

"Iono, you tell me."
He said back, monotonous in his words.

Evella

Eloquent Genius

PostPosted: Tue Jan 30, 2007 9:23 am

Evella hadn't realized what the box held for the longest time. At first she thought it might have been a small trinket of some kind. However in the whirl wind of events that had occured over the past few days she hadn't payed attention to the box. So little in fact, that she never noticed it went missing. When she finally stumbled across the box, a few weeks later, much later than everyone else, she realized it had been open. Frowning she picked it up and looked inside. "I wonder who opened this... and how long ago." Hearing a crash as something fell in the kitchen she dropped the box and raced toward the sound.

"Hey watch it!" A small voice said softly behind her ear.

Evella stopped and peered around, wondering if it was a ghost or something. Standing stock still she didnt know what to do, with all the bad luck that had been happening she guess that it could explain some things if she had been haunted all these weeks. "Who..who said that?" Her curious voice asked.

"Me.. you should never have forgotten me, know look at the mess your in." A shimmer of silver floated in front of her eyes. Crossing his arms Nas stuck out his tongue at Evella. "I was just getting you back for keeping me locked up."

"Locked up? I dont even know what you are." Evella said as her eyes finally focused on the pale creature floating before her. Then it hit her, the box. The strange box that had arrived must have held this creature. "Oh!" Her hands flew to her lips as she blushed deeply. She didnt even know why she was blushing, after all it was only a tiny man. "Um.. who are you?"

"I am Nas. And you are neglectful! Now i have been craving some strawberries for a long time now. And i'd appreciate it if you got me some." Nas settled down on one of Evella's wooden chairs, barely taking up any room on the arm rest.
PostPosted: Wed Feb 07, 2007 1:56 pm

"Really?" Leran was surprised and relieved with Sasha's answer, "Awesome! Thanks. I left the box on the curb outside. I'm sure Hansi can get it. Hey, get some rest or vitamin C or something. You don't seem too good." Maybe he didn't manage to stick with being well-mannered, but he did remember to be kind. Had to be kind to some scary weirdo.

Leran turned around and went to walk out with much more of a jaunt to his step than when he entered.

That was to be short-lived. The imp-in-a-box had found itself to the door and chances so happened that when Leran opened it, the box snagged a corner and put a small tear in the box.

"Hey, bye! See ya never!" Leran waved at Hansi, apparently dieciding that the little creatures did NOT exist and went to begin on his merry way.

His imp had built enough rage and strength to tear through the whole in the box, the start exactly what he'd needed, and the little creature tumble-flew toward Leran, screaching his name. He did, afterall, have ears and knew who the person was that had him so long in bonds.

"Leeerraaaann!! You--oowffhh!!"

And down, eating dirt. Yeah. Hansi had indeed played with some tape. The poor mite had the sticky substance wrapped here and there, just enough to keep him from getting too far.

"What!?!" Leran swirrled around at his name. He stared at the imp on the ground, "Nah-uh. Go to Hansi. HE'S the one to blame."

The imp followed Leran's finger-pointing, and he either finally connected two and two together or just now decided to recognize the fact that Hansi was there.

"Make it go away!!!" for such a little thing, trapped without substanance, he had a mighty voice. And now he used that voice to wail at the top of his lungs in fright. "I'll be good! Make it go away!"

Leran, compelled either by the general supersticion he felt about the place, or by some good-nature, knelt down to pick the imp up, "Shut-up! Look, if I free you, you promise to leave everyone alone?"

"I PROMISE!"

"Fine, here." Leran began working on the tape.

((OOC: *pokes all* I know it's not a very interactive post, but I had to get them to somehow know each other. ^_^ ))

“MIIIIIIIIINE!” It was upon Leran’s exit Sasha was plagued by another mischevious being, though this one was much shorter and, well, much furrier. It was grabbing hold of Sasha’s leg, shaking it violently as she repeated the same word over and over, her tail wagging just as viciously. Eyes popped open, completely black and alien-like, staring up at the tired man. “Who was Sascha talking to? Who? Who? You’re mine, not his.”

“You could never own me. You are only an im—“

“Pixie is not an imp! Pixie is a pixie! Pixie hates imps.” For some strange reason, this is probably Hansi’s fault, too.

---

And at this very moment, Hansi was causing trouble of his own. At the sight of a new imp, he was pointing at the sticky creature trapped in the tape excitedly. He seemed to completely ignore Leran and instead kept all his attention on the small being. His own imp did not seem too interested in the new display, for he never even bothered to avert his eyes toward the screaming creature. Instead, they remained fixed right in front of him, holding the same, bored stare as before.
