I didn't know where to put this, but Twins run seem to run in my family, infact my mother was surprised when I wasn't a twin, my Great grandmother had twins (they died though) and my grandpa is a twin, I was wonder how to find out what the chances of me having twins are.

I'm not sure if there's a real way or anything but the chances of having twins if they run in your family is a little bit higher. Twins are in my family aswell. I'm a twin and there's at least two others in my family =D

As long as you're going by twins running from your female ancestors (fraternal, not identical) and not your male ones (i.e. your father was a twin). Obviously men cannot pass the hyperovulation, so grndpa being a twin is irrelevant. Quote: Remember, the gene for hyperovulation is only a factor for the mother. If your mother -- or your grandmother or aunt -- was or had fraternal twins, then you might have the gene There's no way to accurately predict to see your particular chances, but here are the statistics based on births in the US. Normal-3% or 1 in 33 Age factors-it increases to 4% at 30-34 years and almost 5% at 35-39 years. Race-multiples are more common in African Americans and least common in Hispanics and Asians Times pregnant/if all ready had twins-the chance of having twins increases with each Fertility treatmentsQuote: Other statistics: chance of having conjoined twins: 1 in 50-80,000 chance of having 'natural' triplets: 1 in 8,100 (only about 30% of triplets are 'natural') chance of having 'natural' quads: 1 in 729,000 (only about 6% of quads are 'natural') chance of having 'natural' quints: 1 in 55,000,000 http://multiples.about.com/od/pregnancy/a/familytwin_2.htm

Can't blame you on that one. Look into all the great information lunashock posted. Maybe your risk is high? Or maybe it's low, that depends on family history. Either eay, it doesn't hurt to have extra money around when having a baby. All over-time money that Mike makes is going into the savings account for the future for things like that ^_^
