Ryuhi - Daughter----------- Slowly, the fire feli shifted, head raising from the comfortable position it had been at, atop Thanatos' body, "Hmmmg..." he mumbled intelligently as warm golden orbs dilatated, trying to acostume themselves to the little light within the well built den he and his mate shared. Opening his mouth, he allowed a long yawn to run through him, forcing him to open jaws wide, long tongue curling over sharp little teeth.
Earlier activities had nothing to do with the fact Miya felt completely.... tired out. Nope. Nothing to do.
Iddly, he wondered how many times he'd have to repeat that as a mantra within his head before he actually believed it. Swiftly, he pushed the thought to the back of his hazy brain as he stood, stretching himself out before walking over to the opening of the place he'd come to call home; he was content, rather much... acomplished, might be the word, however, he couldn't help but raise heavy-lidded eyes up to the stars that still shone within the dark depth.
It'd be morning soon, he pondered. Yet another day. Which meant he'd be a day older; he felt as though... he were jsut a tiny bit too old. Perhaps he was... perhaps it was all in his mind though. Probably the later, though he didn't know.~ - ~ - ~ Sniffing at the air of the feli garden, Alista rolled over, allowing the grass to marr her reddish fur, ridding it of it's perfection. Not that she cared though; she could always ask Sollus to help groom her later! He was larger than her, and reached the places her small tongue and neck seemingly couldn't. Than again, she could reach his, so it was all in good and fair play.
"Sollusssss~~" she called as she stood up and pranced the garden, however, she paused by the feli house door, wrinkling her nose; her sister Kai was still in there, and iddly, the kitten wondered if she EVER strolled out, or if she simply kept herself in there. Gee.

Thanatos was comfortable curled up in the den. Like Miya he was thinking, though unlike the elder Feli he wasn't debateing age in the same way. He was thinking that perhaps he was finally old enough to be concidered an adult now. He had a mate, and a wonderful one at that, someone that complimented his failings in such a way that they didn't seem so bad actually. Sure, Thanatos found himself hateing girls in a way that was a tad unreasonable, but he wouldn't change it. He also hated humans, the smelly two leggers that make him feel rather disgustingly dirty when they are around. He wrinkled his nose as he realized that Miya wasn't there being warmly beside him anymore.
A moment later Thanatos lifted his head off his paws, looking toward the entrance of the den and seeing his mate there. Slowly he got up and padded toward Miya, shakeing himself to wake up. "Mm, what are you doing up already?" His words were both teaseing and gentle at the same time as he pressed closer to the other. "Its not morning yet."
Sollus kept rolling around in the grass a time longer. His ears flicked as the young female seemed to whine his name, and he blinked, curious how she came to know it, his mind already closeing to the fact that somehow he had told her. He blinked and made another of his funny sounds. "Meeeee?"
Rolling a bit more he came to his feet and padded toward the smaller female, his sister as it were, since she had decided to claim him as a brother, to make them family.

Actually, he wondered if they knew they'd put themselves out at all... allknowing, they were; they probably thought themselves inmortal, however, he knew nothing was quite inmortal... either had an extense of life, and once that exense was ... done, it was done.
His mate's voice made his ears twitch, and they automatically flopped back to hear him pad nearer, his head only turning barely too look at him before a small barely noticeable smile graced his maw. So small many would've missed it... but probably not Thanatos, "The stars," he said softly as he turned warm golden orbs towards them, "I was looking at the stars... I thought they were beautiful," his voice was soft as he allowed his gaze to travell the asters, "Can't see them after daybreak," he said as an after thought before he looked back down at him, "Can you." it wasn't a question, it was more of a statement.~ - ~ - ~ Rolling on her back again, she watched him approach, her small paws in the air, reaching up to his face, "Sollusssss~~" she whimpered slightly before she paused and frowned, sniffing, one brow arching in confussion as she looked about, almost perplexed. She iddly wondered why she had caleld him Sollus at all. Why was that word... name... edged into her brain suddenly? [Apart from the fact DFA set lose a bloody plot bunny XD] She didn't know, but somehow, it didn't seem to matter; she somehow knew it was his name. The fact he had approached her upon hearing it seemed prof enough for her, "Hmmm..." she mumbled, "Funny, I didn't know your name was Sollus, but now I do."

Thanatos moved closer, tipping his head up to look at the sky, looking at the pinpoints of diamond light above, his ears flicking a bit. "No, I don't see them when the sun is out, it is perhaps that they are wimps and quite afraid of them." He shrugged a little. "They do look kind of fragile so I guess that would make sense." He looked at his mate, thinking back to conversations they had before really becomeing solid partners. "Miya, you said you had a family... and.. I know you were the one that took care of me when I was still...." He stopped talking. "Am I too young?"
He winced even as the words slid from his lips, suddenly wishing his other eye was scarred shut and that he could take the words back. He hadn't wanted to bring that up at all. What if Miya said yes?"
There was the name again, she called him by his name and he had to come. Tail flicking Sollus moved toward the smaller female looking down at her. "Meee?" He enquired softly, looking down at her grass stained form, not too much cleaner than his own. He blinked and licked between her ears and waited for her to say what was bothering her. He looked around to see if he could find something that was being annoying, it wasn't like there was an apparent cause of bother.

Blinking, Miya paused his train of thought, placed it back in the station and turned towards his mate, tilting his head in question, "Yes, I did have a familly... if I don't stand corrected I have granchildren running... somewhere," he frowned, "I never saw them; my daughter was ... she mated a feli i didn't approve of. I think she resented that fact; she mated a feli whom they call Night," tsking slightly, he returned his gaze back to THanatos, pausing long to concider his words before answering, "I ... do not think so; age isn't something real, it's abstract," he closed his eyes, "At any rate, it's not you whom may be too young, but me, whom might be getting too old; maybe I'm growning old, and useless."~ - ~ - ~ Reaching up, she grasped his face, giving his nose a warm lick, taking a bit of dirt away from it, "We're dirty," she stated simply, ears twitching over the blades of grass, "If I had a mother...." she paused frowning slightly, but as soon as it came, it went and the frown vanished, "If I had a mother, she'd be trying to get me to take a bath; maybe we should clean up?" tilting her head she looked at him; it was the normal thing to do... she had looked up to the grown ones since the day she had come out of her bundle after all, hadn't she?
It wasn't easy to put that all behind her.

"Useless?" Thanatos narrowed his eyes a bit at the sound of the word. "Did we not already have a talk about this before? Yet you still say you are useless?" He felt the flames around him riseing as he grew angered from the simple comment. It came across to him as offensive. How could his mate state that he was useless? To him it was almost the same as being called useless himself. "YOu are not useless, unless you think protecting and being here for me was useless?" He turned still angered but not sure why.
He didn't stop to think, he just stared working his way out of the den. "I am going for a walk, come and talk to me later, if you are not so old and self pitying to bother tracking me."
Sollus nodded a bit and sat down, starting to lap at the fur of the younger female. He wasn't a mother, and he wasn't so wise as to know that he was taking on a role not suited to him very much, but he cared for the smaller child. She was special, one that didn't judge him and didn't make mean comments about him being simple and useless. He liked to play and had just never had the chance to try things that were not so childish. "Meee.." He stated softly. He had never had a parent to teach him these things, and only hoped he was able to help clean her.

A low purring began to rumble through, starting mild, however, easily and swiftly escalating in intensity, "Mewwwwwrrrr..." she stated happily, her purring slurring her words slightly as she closed her eyes, allowing him to clean her face. Perhaps she didn't need a mother; she had a big brother whom seemed to know what needed to be done.

Thanatos moved into the woods, laying down and looking up at the sky, watching the colors changeing. Dawn was coming upon them fast, and soon he would be alone under the sunlight. He too was afraid that somehow he was going to be left alone again. Fears were a common thing, but Thanatos had always thought that Miya was much stronger than him, bolder and more able to take care of himself. The thought that there were times when he needed comfort too didn't really hit him. It wasn't that he was not able, but rather that he wasn't aware that this was what happened from time to time.
SO it was because of his own confusion that he didn't go back. He didn't know how to.
Finally having cleaned the kit off as well as he could, he lay down in the grass and looked up at the sky. The sun was starting to go down, and that ment that most of the others were inside getting ready to go to sleep. Sollus wasn't tired though. He didn't often see the need to sleep, since that was just a waste of a good night. He wanted to go wandering, and so he tried to invite the younger female to go with him. "Meeeee?" He enquired looking to the lake.

Knows: DFA is dumb and forgot--- Gaze fixed upon the heavens the fire feli felt himself grow melancholic just by watching the colors fuse, the darkness wash away and turn to light, and somehow, he couldn't help but pity the stars that were thus hidden by the brilliance of the sun's rays. Iddly, he sneered at himself, however, the fact he had come to somehow concider himself like a star, shinning away till time came, the way the sun came, and outshone him little by little.
The simple analogy his brain was toying with angered him.
But try s he might, he couldn't stop thinking it, and so, he lay himself upon the ground at the entrance of the den, eyes sweeping down to scan the forest about him, waiting, for he could not go... not now, for he was feeling much too weak. Firm though planted within his mind, Miya lowered his head over his paw and closed warm golden orbs from the world, shutting himself out from his surroundings as he curled himself into a ball.
Yes, he was patient. He could wait. What for though, he had no idea...~ - ~ - ~ Ears perking, the female turned around herself, opening her maw to grab ahold of her tail, taking it within her paws to give it a good groom; she was proud of her tail... her tail was special to her for some reason, thus so, it deserved an extra groom.
At his single word, blue eyes lifted up to him, expectantly as head tilted to one side in question, then slowly, and since she had gotten to understand that actions were easier to understand with him, than words, she stood, smiling up at him, expectantly, "Mewl," she stated proudly as she awaited for him to move. Her mind told Alista she'd know what he meant the mment he started moving.

Pride.. it was a terrible thing. Pride kept Thanatos from heading back, though part of him wanted to. He had issued the challenge and he wasn't able to turn around and turn himself into a wimp.
If you don't go back you will lose it all.
The soft voide in his head warned him of what he was chooseing, but he couldn't heed it. He was not that kind, he couldn't lower himself so much as to turn around. Miya had never failed to track him down before, why wouldn't he come now.
He doesn't want to, he wont want to come after you, you are still a kid, don't you get it Thanatos, you are an infant to him. Immature and you were a game. The game is done.. you are useless now. It was you he was talking about, not him.
Like all things, words were a poison, and one's own words were far worse. The more he dwelled on the words his mind spoke, the more he believed.
"That is it.. I was his game. Miya got what he wanted.. he doesn't need me around. He wanted me to leave.. Fine, I will... I will leave and he wont ever have to see me again." He pushed on, heading deeper into the woods, trying to hide the sudden pain inside. "First time I ever... cared.. and..."
Sollus smiled as the younger feli looked at him with the expectancy in her eyes. He nodded and started toward the lake, moving slowly so she could keep up. If the grooming hadn't worked right, a nice little swim sure would. He couldn't wait for the chance to feel the water on him. He wasn't like Corona, he couldn't swim as good but he did like the feeling of water, so long as it wasn't water covered with Ice and killer bunnies. That had been a bad adventure. Still he had the new girl with him and she wouldn't bring killer bunnies around.

THe solitude wrapped around it; it was not welcome, but it was known, almost like an old friend or more like an old enemy actually, coming back to haunt him, and even though he knew deep down what would remedy it... he stayed. He kept himself rooted to the spot, he felt as if the force of gravity had doubled in the wake of his melancholy... as if it aimed to keep him there.
Away from what he cared for.
Away from what he loved. And away from he whom loved him back.
He knew all that, but still, he stayed. Miya knew he should've gone to him, but the notion that perhaps he was in fact too old kept him there. Perhaps Thanatos deserved someone better. Someone younger... someone.... better, simply. He'd come back if he wished to stay by him, he kept telling himself, he'd just have to wait. He was a very patient feli after all...
Tell truth, he was still waiting for his children and grandchildren to come to him, to show themselves... to talk to him, to know him.
So much time had passed, and still he waited patiently. He had patience to spare.

Instantly it dawned upon Alista that he wanted her to follow him, so thus, she did. Quite merrily too, prancing over the grass cheerfully as she batted at his tail, trying to pounce it as he walked. She had no idea where he was taking her, and though a voice at the back of her mind told her they should be heading off to bed... to rest, she pushed the annoying voice away.
"Twinkle, twinkle, lil star," she chanted as the few dots became visible, trotting up to Sollus, "I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish, I wish tonight."

He doesn't want you, doesn't need you and he never did.
The words mentally wrap around Thanatos, crushing his spirit. Drowning the small sparks of happiness that had once started to kindle within him.
You can never go back, he ddn't want you with him anyway, there is no reason to return.
Like an open wound the words fester inside of him, crushing him. Thanatos keeps walking, trying to get away from them, but there is no way.
"Why?" He breaths the words into the crisp new day, begging the trees to answer him. "Why did I have to... why did I have to love him? Why does this hurt me so much? None of the real injuries hurt so bad."
The fiery male lowered his head, feeling tremmors through his whole body. "He once said I only had to call and he would be here, yet.. he wouldn't come this time. He must really have gotten tired of me already."
The words no longer sound like those of someone with pride, but rather the words of someone, who feels their heart breaking but doesn't know what to do.
"Miya... if you ment it, please.. please.. why wont you come? Beat me up if you want, I can take that at least."
Leading the way to the water, Sollus had a chance to really listen to the voice of Alista. She really sang nice, and he wished he could join her. He wasn't foolish enough to think that his single word was the same as actually talking. He could in fact hear what he was saying and he knew it wasn't right. Not that it ment that he could fix it. That wasn't possible either. To him the song being sung was more of a series of tunes weaved together into words that didn't make a whole lot of sense. I like it... He tried to say, which came out as "meeee!"
