Maderik flew in low, skimming just above the trees. On his back clung his Dragon-Bound - Rin - who had her eyes shut and her knuckles were white where they clung to the dragon's mane.
"Please fly higher," she gasped.
And the dragon only chuckled and dropped straight into the canopy of the trees, cracking branches under his weight and Rin screamed.
The few dragons gathered around the hot spring hidden at the base of the hills, bubbling out among the roots of an ancient tree, gazed at Maderik in curiosity for a moment. He hung back from the group but Rin pressed on eagerly, ducking between dragon legs and jostling the other Dragon-Bound until she had a clear view of the hatchlings but was far enough away not to disturb them. The young ones would not learn of their relationship with the humans until later and it was not her place to interfere with dragon young. But she wanted to see.

Minuit stretched and yawned, blinking her purple eyes curiously. What was that on the hilltop? She saw a dragon, and a strange creature on two legs. The little stubs where wings would someday be fluttered as she started lumbering towards the creature.

Zera peeked up. She still had bits of eggshell clinging on her sides, and they were anyoying her. She sat down grumply to work on removing them, but they didn't seem to want to leave. She gave a 'raaac' in exasperation, and was surprised to see a fog of extreamally cold air come out. She did it again, this time aiming at some plants. A small frost appeared upon then. She purred with joy. She was just about to try again when she noticed a dragon and a...thing on the hilltop. The thing looked quite friendly, and it might have something to eat. Zer bounded past othe dragons and charged joyfully into the things legs.
Dragons behind her looked horified and were mumbling to each other.
"Insane little thing!"
"What should we do?"
"We can't just let it go charging into humans, especialy bonded ones"
Most of the dragons chatter ment nothing to Zera. She had curled up against the legs of...the human was it? and fell fast asleep.
((I might have to grab a form and edit her adition info. She seems to be able to breath ice. *grabs 500g*))

Rin stared in horror at the thing curled up at her legs. In her mind, she could sense Maderik's amusement and guess that he wasn't going to do a thing to help her out.
So Rin knelt and put her hands together before her, a gesture of respect, and gently shoved the dragon hatchling to its feet and tried to point it in the direction of the other adult dragons.
"It isn't proper," she said, "Go back to the others before I get in trouble."

Minuit chirped happily as she made her way up the hill. She touched the older dragon with the tip of her nose, eyes sparkling curiously. This dragon looked like the other adults, but had big yellow things coming out of it's back. What were those yellow things?

((Friendly, and stubbrin. Maybe a bit proud too. xD))
Zera awoke to being pushed away from the warm human. She looked up to hear it say it wasn't proper for her to fall asleep on her feet. Zera, wasn't going to be bossed around by a human thingy! Zera stuck her nose into the air, much to the amusement of the others, and blew her icy breath on the humans fingers. then turned her small body around and walked proudly away. She didn't want to go back to her nest without making a good apreance, so she turned and blew her icy breath into the sky, before hurring off to lie in her nest, from her nest, she watched a hatchling much like herself wander up to the...human and her dragon. The let out a little Pffffft sound and dozed, all the while keeping an eye on the other hatchling. It wasn't going to get attention she couldn't get.

Rin yelped and jammed her fingers under her arm, trying to warm them up and melt the frost as quickly as possible.
"Unusual..." Maderik murmered, "If she were grown the ice would have frozen your hand and the slightest touch would have shattered-"
"I get it." Rin stalked over as Maderik lowered her head to touch Minuit's nose. She grabbed his mane and pulled herself up onto his back so that she would be out of reach by any more hatchlings.
Maderik sniffed carefully at Minuit, memorizing her scent in case he would find it later. He lived a ways off from the hatching grounds but it was still his responsibility as an adult dragon to care for any younger dragon and instruct them in the ways of their people. It was one of the reasons he lived so far from the hatching grounds.
"Welcome to the world, little one," Maderik said softly. "May the sky spread its mantle over you."

Minuit's eyes sparkled. Those were wings on the big dragon's back! She had heard the elders speak of them...She chirped again. The big one had so many scars...they looked like they hurt. She looked up into his eyes, curiously. Would she be big like that one day?

Maderik shifted uncomfortably when Minuit looked at the scars on his belly. He turned so that they weren't as visible.
"You'll have wings someday, little one," he said, "You'll have to go through much to get them, though. It wasn't always this way. You'll learn about this in time."

Minuit cocked her head. She liked this older dragon. Yawning slightly, she settled between his legs. Her light purple eyes slowly closed, and tiny snoring noises could be heard coming from her.

Maderik grinned.
Hang on Rin, he said mentally, and picked up the hatchling with his forearms. Walking carefully on two legs, Rin sprawled on his back and wrapping her arms around his neck, he walked down the hill and deposited Minuit next to Zera. Then he turned and bowed to the other dragons assembled.
"Keep your Dragon-Bound at home next time," one growled at him. Maderik only smiled more.
"She stays with me and if you disagree with this than I ask you change my mind with teeth and claw."
It was an invitation to combat and the other dragon sulked off, not wanting to start a fight at the hatching grounds.

Zera watched the other hatchling curl up at the feet of the older dragon. She sniffed to make sure no one was watching then scurried over to the dragon. Her senses were alive, and she was playfull. She happily jumped on the older dragons tail and bit it lightly, so not to hurt it. She let out a happy chirp. then sat down to watch the human and dragon. Seeing the older dragon was walking away, she ran after him.

Eyal had thus far been occupied with the removal of the sticky shell fragments that had not completely been separated from his hide. He removed them gently with his small teeth, and, with that task done, sat up to look at his surroundings. He saw a few others his size running about and cocked his head curiously. More looking, and he found others, large ones that were all observing them and chatting amongst themselves. And...as his eyes roved, taking in these new sights, he noticed something odd. There was some sort of thing. A strange creatre that walked on two legs and had no claws, wings, or anything of the like. He noticed that the other two hatchlings were playing about the scarred dragon and the funny looking thing. Curious, he stepped over.
As he reached the feet of the scarred dragon and funny thing, he looked at them both, and then at the other playing hatchlings. Interesting he supposed, but why was the funny looking thing here? He sniffed the dragon, and a few of the other dragons around him. And then he sniffed the funny thing. He recoiled slightly. It smelled totally different! A completely different species! He knew what the others were. They were dragons, as he was. But this thing...he glared at it and let out a small hiss. How dare he not know what it was! He gazed up at it, his electric blue eyes boring into it's smaller ones. A demanding rumble echoed out of his throat. He wanted this creature to announce itself to him immediately! Satisfied that he had expressed adequete dominance over the thing, he sat back to wait for it to answer him.

Zera watched the golden dragon growl at the human. She wanted to giggle. She walked up looking proud and wished she could communicate with him. Wished she could be the one to tell him what the human was. She sat down in front of the human and stared at the other hatchling. Her eyes sparkling. They seemed to say. I know what this is, and you don't.
