Peace is not a new idea. It has been around for some time:
CIPA (Center of inter-planetary alliance) has held meetings for various factions to discuss peace. However, this was left at a standstill.
For updates on CIPA look in the journal of Ambassador Sarek..
On January 4th ZH had an important meeting with Zooeep that has encouraged us to begin new efforts for peace, and an attempt to unite all factions.
