Idea: A fresh swathe of destruction has begun amongst the many tribes of werewolves and the corresponding clans of vampires. In other words, werewolves and vampires are now at war. Warlocks, slayers, etc. can all take part in this war, though the sides they choose do not have to be evened out. Cross breeds, such as my character, are neutral in the war, and sought out by both sides, for they could be the deciding factor. How many I want to join: No more than ten, but any less is fine. How literate I wish the story to be: At least semi-literate, though full literacy is appreciated. What limits I want: No limits whatsoever. Madeups: Definately allowed. The intros should be in story form, though I will accept lists plus a good paragraph or two of story. Main characters: All ten will be main characters. We need: Three Vamps Three Lycans One Mortal (of any kind) One Cross Breed
Current Characters: Argos (Cross Breed) Mayosa (Mortal)
Setting: A dense forest with several open clearings where the fighting takes place. At one side of the forest is a large mansion, known to be the hideout of the vampire Clans. At the other end lies a large underground cave complex, known to be the home of the werewolf Tribes. In the middle is a human settlement. Thus, our story begins...

Sitting under the shade of a oak tree, in the middle of the forest sat a young woman with eyes of glassy ice blue, the glaze of that of a blind mistress. Though struck with the sad disability, she had noticed her hearing had improved making her able to see without actually seeing. Turning her head and sweeping back her long dark brown hair, she patted her little pet white fox on the head. "Here you are Ghost."She said, giving the little fox a piece of meat from her recent hunt. A small smile appeared on her face as she remembered how she had stumbled upon the little thing. It was exactly ten years ago, when she herself was ten. She and her mother, her father had been dead since her birth, had went into the forest. Her mother had disappered into the deeper parts of the forest in search of things for a potion. She had stayed behind at the instructions of her mother and played amongst the trees. That's when she noticed the poor little white fox being attacked by wolves. Determined to help, she mustered up the little bit of fire attacks that her mother had been teaching her and scared the wolf's off. Then climbing back down the tree, she scooped up the little fox and nurtured her, never wondering how and arctic fox came to be in the forest. After a bit of waiting, she walked into the woods in search of her mother, wondering what had been taking her so long. This was how she became an orphan, she found her mother lying in blood a bite to her neck. "Mayosa."Her mother had uttered her name, but softly closed her eyes and laid back down in eternal slumber. This was why she was determined to become a mage and avenge her mother. So now she sat practicing her arts outside the village, alone and blind. (I'll explain her blindness next time.)

A massive dark figure paced slowly through the forest, ducking his head every so often to avoid the occasional low-hanging branch. And for a guy who stood at seven foot one, he was surprised there weren't more of them.
Of course, besides his abnormal height, there were plenty of other hints that he wasn't a mortal. Take for instance his face.
Deep golden eyes were set behind a large furry muzzle. He yawned widely, revealing massive fangs. Two of these were longer than all the others, and he somtimes wondered how they actually fit in his mouth. Atop a mess of long black fur-like hair sat two wolf-like ears.
Mounted on his back were two massive leathery wings, an eighteen foot span in total, that looked similar to those of a bat. Long claws extended from his furry fingers. In short, his entire body was covered in thick black fur.
But don't jump to conclusions. This one wasn't a werewolf. His build was lightly, more muscular, and quite a bit larger than normal werewolves. Yes, this one was a Werepyre, a rarely seen crossbreed. He could stand sunlight, and held no bloodlust, but was a powerful fighter and could not change forms of his own free will.
With a light sigh of sort, Argos continued to pace through the trees. He'd been walking the earth for ages, and had seen the come and go of hundreds of wars between his parent races. They never ended well... The ends of the leather trenchcoat he wore barely reached his knees, and the pants on his legs were more like shorts. But, he didn't mind.
A broadsword hung at his side, his only visible weapon. But, Argos preferred to be mysterious about what tricks he could conceal besides what he had out in the open.

"There finished!"Mayosa smiled, happily placing her recent healing potion down next to her others. She stared at where she knew was her blinding potion was, it was her first one and last one of those kind until she got her nerve up again to try it again. She touched near her eyes remembering the pain as she felt her eyes stinging as they went into blurriness than to where she could only see shapes, than blindness. That was a price of being a mage, always a chance of getting hurt yourself when summoning or concocting such powers.

Argos suddenly paused in his pacing, raising his nose slightly. There was definately a scent in the air. He wrinkled his nose slightly. Some form of herb, possibly other components... Most likely being used for alchemy or potions. Then he caught what he was truly looking for. There WAS a human scent in the air.
Quickly and semi-quietly, he wove his way through the trees. Catching sight of the mage, he slowed his pace substantially. This was dangerous ground to tread on... But he was rather lonely, and not as dangerous as either of his parent species. Well, not unless provoked. And he wasn't evil, either. Just a neutral player. "May I ask what you're doing out here alone and so far away from civilization?" He asked in a voice that was low and rough, similar to a growl, but not as threatening as one.

Mayosa cocked her head at the sudden voice, taken off guard but not shocked. Slowly she turned her glassy eyes on the man. "I'm creating potions, what does it look like? I can't exactly find the herbs in the village now can I?"Mayosa questioned back, taking heed to Ghost's warning growls.

"Good point." Argos conceeded. He dared to take a few steps closer, noting that this mage was blind. He also noted, however, that she had a fox companion and was definately not helpless. Not that he'd take advantage of her anyway. His golden gaze wandered about the area and he sighed lightly.

"You are lost?"Mayosa questioned, holding out some food to him, "Come eat. My sight may be gone but you may trust my cooking to be edible."She smiled, giving Ghost a stand done look.

He smiled lightly. "Not lost, though I thank you for your concern. I have always wandered here." He couldn't resist the temptation of the foot, however. With an appreciative word of thanks, he took the food, wondering if she'd recognize what he was by the brush of fur against her hand.

Mayosa nodded a you're welcome, thinking his fur nothing but a coat or jacket. "You may stay as long as you need till you are rested and full."She said, going back to working on another potion.

He nodded with another word of thanks, then sat doown a short distance away. The food was practicall devoured within a few minutes, though it was done silently and without too much lack of manners. He then found himself captivated by watching her work. It was an interesting process, to be sure, and one he'd never truly seen before.

"Would you like to try and make a potion?"Mayosa offered, knowing a simple smoke potion that required a few basic ingredients. Ghost looked up at the man with a cocked head and yipped.

He blinked and glanced down to his hands for a moment. "Well, it's not that I wouldn't like to. I just don't think I could..." His fingers lacked the mobility they once had, and each had a long claw growing out where fingernails would usually be.

"Very well."Mayosa said, sensing his unease. "Where do you come from wanderer?"She asked, hoping to know more about him. Ghost playfully nipped at him.

Argos couldn't quite surpress a chuckle, and held out a hand for the fox to inspect. He seemed to do well with most animals, though he knew one had to be careful around them unless you wanted to be bitten. "I came from... I'm not sure, actually. I've been wandering so long I can't even remember." He unfurled his wings slowly, relaxing.
